AND2 and SVN Bug Reports - A New Dawn 2 ONLY

Yeah, I just saw the r677 announcement. Ah well, I'll finish this map first.

Speaking of which, I believe the following quest is referring to an outdated civic from the original game?
Spoiler :

Civ4ScreenShot0005.JPG
Hereditary rule

Maybe check the other quests for similar requirements?

Here's a small nitpick... the FoV setting (BUG) persists between games, but if you exit Civ4 entirely it'll reset back to the default 42 the next time Civ4 is started. A bit odd, considering all the other BUG settings are saved.

Hereditary Rule is just Monarchy, I'll change the name in the message. I'll also look at field of view settings.

Finally remembered the question I always wanted to ask but keep forgetting :crazyeye:

Not really a bug per se, but is there any way of randomizing the order used for city names? E.g. if I play French then my first city will always be Paris, the next Lyon, etc. I do play with Personalized Names selected, but that just means cities that aren't near any landmarks get suggested the names on the list again, in the exact same order (first Paris, then Lyon, etc.)

It would be great if the city names list could be randomized when you start a new game.

Probably it's possible but I'm busy with something else now. I'll add it to requests not on priority.

Besides Insurance having Canals icon, I've also noted that literature before founding Hinduism has the old Polytheism icon. Probably depending on the latest religions changes by Vokarya. Possibly other religion-founding techs could have the same problem. Vokarya can you have a look at it?

I'll fix it - the game calls a particular image for a tech when a religion hasn't been founded yet, and I didn't think to change those. I'll make new ones for Kemetism and Hinduism. Those were the only two I changed.

How do these look? I'll be ready to upload my changes probably in a day or two, so I'll take of this as well.

Ooh, nice.

I don't quite understand where they show up though.

These icons replace the normal icon when you are eligible to research a tech that founds a religion but the religion that's tied to the tech hasn't been founded yet. For example, if you beeline to Warfare at the start of the game, Athletics will have the lightning bolt for Hellenism as its icon instead of the usual discus-throwing man that you see in the Civilopedia.

@45° ...and here is a diff patch to update the french translation against rev677:

Link

Some notes however:
  • In the file "RoM_GameText_Strategy", i removed the second occurence of TXT_KEY_TECH_MUSIC_STRATEGY and TXT_KEY_TECH_ROCKETRY_STRATEGY as they appeared two times. Do you want me to seek for duplicate entries in the text files ? I can do that.
  • Sometimes, i edited the others languages to remove a space, add a comma, etc.
  • I noticed that TXT_KEY_BUILDING_PYRAMID_STRATEGY mentionned a free "irrigation canal" but wouldn't it be a free cimeterie ? I always play with early buildings, so i don't know.
  • The regular translation in french is 100% complete now (all except new civilopedia entries). I'm not sure i will translate the pedia as it requires a massive amount of time and they might not have enough french players compared to the effort needed.
  • Would you mind adding me as a translator in the AND Team page ? I want to help you as i can and have already took around 50h of my time doing the translation.

Last, but not least, i want to thanks the AND team again for this wonderful mod !

I wouldn't do that for the moment, because I've seen that the text you removed is different in two occurances; and I'm not sure which one is correct.

It's a leftover from some very old version; it's ok to correct it with graveyard.

Sure, no problem; thank you for your translation.
Just for your information (and for everyone else wanting to help with translation), it's easier for me if you just upload your corrected files instead of a patch; sometimes I make small changes for testing purposes and it's easier for me to know exactly what I merge. Thank you again. :)

Looks very good to me. And they remind me that the same problem is occurring since ages with Islam: discovered at Education, it was displaying Divine Right icon if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think I've ever paid attention to that, but you're right. I also didn't like how the other new religions were appearing with full-coverage icons instead of the small icon in the lower-right corner, so I fixed those too. These will be in my new build, which will be fairly soon.

(On another note, I just noticed for the first time that the blackboard on Education reads CIV4 = $. Absolutely hilarious.)

I only just noticed it myself as well. Very amusing!

It's the sort of thing you don't usually notice until you zoom in close and get a good look :king:

Here's the even funnier part - that's NOT the button that gets used in-game. The in-game button is actually drawn from the techtree_atlas.dds file, and that particular blackboard reads 1 + 1 = 2. The button I used is tucked away in the FPK files, and you'll never see it without unpacking the files! I guess it's a real Easter egg that's been hidden in the FPK without too many people ever delving in there to find it. Here's a fixed version with the proper icon.

Hey, working on a game for rev670. I noticed that when I sell a unit out of a boat, the boat's capacity is not adjusted. This leaves the ship with a permanently reduced capacity as there is no way to get rid of the phantom passenger.

Something similar happens to me as well, only the opposite case: sometimes when I buy a ship from the AI its cargo capacity is reduced as if it was carrying units, but no units are present.

On a side note, can we keep the Civ4=$ Education icon? It's great!

A bug in the civilopedia I am not sure if you are aware of or not.

Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0023.JPG

Switching back to contents crashes the whole pedia, but exiting it and opening it is okay.

I just try it, and it's true. Not sure if have relation to have installed AND 2.1 Mega Civ Pack, but I also happen to me with the latest revision.
