If you can beat civ IV on deity, you can't be a moron.
May not be true for shooter games, but for strategic games I would think so.

I mean, I would describe myself as a "game player" but I can't beat Civ IV on Deity

but you've played plenty of strategic games which requires at least some amount of brain power.

The same total person orientation I need to beat civ on deity gets me really far in any direction applied. The cost is energy.

Playing a game like Civ at a higher difficulty level is more a question of motivation than intelligence, I think.

I think the type of person is at a higher level than one that just plays shooter games. But I could be wrong.

Well yes, conversations at shooters forums tend to be less intellectualistic than at strategy games forums. Dont know if that is a sign of intelligence or pretentiousness though.

The word you're looking for is intellectualistical.

Ask a pro, or even a high-level player, the nuances of playing CS:GO.

Any game which has a genuine competitive scene is far more intellectually demanding than I think you're giving it credit for.

I'll concede that. I was thinking more of the High School Jocks playing the shooter games while the nerds were playing strategy games. I know it's it a massive generalization.

An intellectual is a person who engages in critical thinking, research, and reflection about society and proposes solutions for its normative problems.

Almost nobody here does actual research, and maybe like 4-5 posters self-reflect, so overall we are far away from being a forum of intellectuals

But that's on an actual academic level of intellectualism. On a level of forum intellectualism we are intellectual AF

Me too. Currently researching the proper way to not blow off a technicians fingers with a small bomb.

I would call technicians blowing their fingers off a world problem, so if Hobbsyoyo's research points towards a solution I'd say your question points in a false direction Warpus.

I'm also curious, do you assume a lack of "self-reflection" based on "fails to agree with Warpus even when Warpus has repeated himself a few (or more than a few) times?"

I work on hundreds of research projects a year, and if discovering what toilet paper wipes your butt better isn't solving a world problem, I don't know what is.

Is there a universal truth there, or is better a butt dependent variable?

Upon some self-reflection I am going to have to say no
