Have you ever had BBQued shark? 'Tis not the best...

And we have no witchdoctors here; only Paul Hogan.

I can see being proud of something I did or contributed to and I hope I never stop experiencing them. But to ask questions like 'are you proud of yourself' or 'are you happy' I view as mental traps for a non-existent competition that nobody wins at death. When asked these kinds of questions I redirect the conversation to how often I laugh and cry, or is there 'direction' in my life and in how I live it?

Pride is a good thing but watch out for taking it to that high place that cometh before.

Ewww, a bit preachy! Sorry

Generally I'm extremely proud of myself, but today I feel only semi-proud.

I've done pretty well under the circumstances. I love myself for not giving up & putting myself out there again & again & trying a thousand & one things to get my life together when the thousandth fails.

Not so proud of all the time I've spent in what I deem to be frivolous activities, I'm embarrassed about many of my actions, having "wasted" time, energy, youth, money. I tried to touch my toes this afternoon & was more than a foot away from the floor. If I don't start taking better care of my spine now I will be in alot of pain constantly in less than ten years.

Nice necro Nero. :D

edit : I voted semi FWIW.

Old thread is oooooooold. I voted yes but I dunno why.

Still in the top 200!!
Not anymore.

To be honest, and for all I have achieved up to now? Not that much. I've made some bad decisions, and there's still a long road ahead.

Also, this is a thread worth reviving.

Am I the only one who feels like the thread title is trying to tell them off for something?

I suppose the fact that my first reaction to an innocent question is to interpret it as attempting to induce shame puts me squarely into the "No" camp, then, doesn't it?

7 year necro? That is a new record

But anyway, I am proud of myself. I have a very very healthy ego.

No, I don't know enough statistics about things I want to argue about, and it does not make me proud.

Fiddlin Nero = Fiddlin Necro.

Anyways, I'm the most important person in the world. Of course I'm proud of myself.

No, I am a dilettante that has no drive to do anything. I also have a below average intellect.

I'm not, because I've not really produced results the past few years. Yeah, I know it's all really about the experience and what you take away from life, but I'm still going to have to enter the job market under the prevalent socio-economic conditions.

I don't see any to be ashamed of about myself, but short of good grades and not being a total drain on my family I don't see much that is deserving of "pride", so I went with semi.
