Ask a Mormon, Part 4

This is a serious question.
I understand beginner mormons don't have access to this level of information, but surely a more serious mormon can answer it...

Well, the question is based on several false pretenses, is the thing.

Ok, I admit I don't know much about this...
So, please tell me where I am wrong...

There are 3 levels of "heaven" or afterlife, the top level can only be men (and their wives who are bound to them). How do I become one of these men?

Do I get a planet to populate if I am in this top tier?

Well, obviously if the wives are there, it's not only men now is it?

One does have to be sealed to their spouse to gain the highest levels of exaltation, but clearly that means both genders are there.

How do I become one of these men?

Well, the whole process is possible because of the atonement of Christ, of course, but it is conditional on obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

Do I get a planet to populate if I am in this top tier?

No, universe.

Does this mean you have to be married to gain this level of exaltation? Or is it possible for single men, but not for single women?

You have to be married, but like any of the other ordinances (like baptism), there are ways for this to be taken care of after you die.

What about the people that CAN'T marry because there are too many men/women?

And how difficult is it to do it after death? Nearly impossible, or really easy if you want to do it? Something in between?

Most members are pretty sure that's why it is possible for a man to have more than one wife . . . it will balance the numbers out.

Well, given how hard it can be for some people to get married here on earth, I imagine it would be easier - here, you are restricted to people who live near you, at the same time period.

What if nobody wanted to marry you? And why such a strange requirement anyway?

How does this work in Mormon Heaven?

Do people have sex or whatever, or not?

And do people look like they are young, old, what?

Yeah, what if you never want to marry?
What is the stance on divorce?
What if you never want to remarry after a divorce?

Can you tell more?

Is our universe result of a similar process, where your God is the guy who got it?

No one answered my question :(

That's certainly possible - and has been speculated to be so - but we don't know one way or the other.

What if nobody wanted to marry you? And why such a strange requirement anyway?

It's not strange - rather, the process of becoming like God is something you can't do without someone alongside you, who is your equal, to help.

Don't know.

And do people look like they are young, old, what?

We know that at resurrection we will have perfect bodies - what exactly that entails I couldn't say for sure.

Yeah, what if you never want to marry?

No one can force you to - you will just miss out on some of the blessings you would have gotten otherwise.

What is the stance on divorce?

It is allowed but discouraged (although sometimes absolutely necessary of course).

What if you never want to remarry after a divorce?

Same as if you didn't marry, I guess.

So Mormons believe God is married?

Yes. We basically believe this by inference though, we haven't received much in the way of revelation on the matter.

Also, can you answer the first part of my question?

I consider that basically impossible - if you are righteous enough to be at the point where you only need to be married to gain exaltation, and you have all of human geography and history in which to find a spouse, you will find someone.

Mormons believe we'll come back at the resurrection as Dinosaurs.
Got it.

Also, we will fly and breathe fire.

So, MUST Mormons believe this, or do you in particular (As well as some others) choose to believe so?

I consider that basically impossible - if you are righteous enough to be at the point where you only need to be married to gain exaltation, and you have all of human geography and history in which to find a spouse, you will find someone.

Don't you also have to find someone else who is righteous enough?

Also, do you have an infinite amount of time to find someone? Or how does that work?

It's not one of the questions we are asked in interviews (side note: when someone wants to go to the temple or do whatever, they are interviewed to see if they are worthy and accept the doctrine) but it is more consistent with our doctrine than the alternative.

Don't you also have to find someone else who is righteous enough?

Well, yeah.

Also, do you have an infinite amount of time to find someone? Or how does that work?

I don't know how time works in the next life . . .
