Ask Iranians

I have a question. Are you concerned that your leadership are walking down the path to war with the US?

11 pages long now, so just refernece me if this has been answered already.

I have a question:

I heard a while back that western music was banned in Iran.

Does such a law exist? If so, does it have any effect on the people? (That is to say, can one still listen to western music if he wishes?)

I thought they were (turkic, I know) Azeris...
:)
Is there any separatism movement in this region?

btw,
Ahmadinezad zesht ast.
you are correct
thier name is Azaies because they live in Azarbaijan (two azarbaijan exist one is a undependent country that in past had been a republic of USSR and other name of a region contain 3 province in north west of Iran) in past time about 400 years ago they will be united and under the governance of Iran monarchi (Qajar)
but Russia atack and take them by force from Iran and this region is sepereted to 2 region under control of Iran and Russia

there is seperation motivation and movement between these peoples but less than Kurds
Kurds always try to seperate because they are Sonnis and government of Iran in recent time is Shi'a
but Azaries have more common charastristics

all thing about seperation is about a few poeple of Kurds and Azaries and most of them don't support seperatism

In persian he said Ahmadi nejad is not handsome
ok he isn't handsome but many poeples in around of is not handsome espicially in politicans

khob zashte ke zeshte be man che
akharin name Ahmadi nejad ro shenidi
be mansour
be name khoda
chera faghat bayad khoshgela beraghsan?

many laws exist in Iran but doiing and implementing them is important
I heard about that but not hear about action of that law
every poeple in Iran can download muzics from any sites and listen to them (there is not a copy right law in Iran)
I have a MP3 player and have many songs from Britney spears and Madona and listen to them every day and nobody say me anything
some poeple hear that muzics ver loudly and other poeple annoyed and call police for intervene and then some difficulties happen
but if any one hear any muzic in usual form and voice nobody say anything

I think broken copy right of these famous singers but here apologize from them because in Iran I can't offer thier song on Internet because of law that both side US and Iran have not financial relation with each other

I have a question, i read that young iranians, specially students are becoming more and more nationalistic and hateful of islam and arabs, as a backlash to the mullas, is this true?

how do you feel about it?

:D :D
So what about music videos, are any western ones with these two or the like showen on Iranian tv?

Also if I was travelling to Iran (which I hope to next year) would one be better using a British passport or a NZ passport as I have both? And would I be able to enter the country from Israel or with a stamp saying that I had been to Israel or would that cause problems getting in?
Or would it be better going to Iran before Israel?
Or would I not be able to enter Isreal after being in Iran?(u probably dont know this I just thought I would ask while I am here)

Here are some interesting questions I doubt anyone has asked so far. I haven't read the rest of the thread so I don't know for sure.

1) Do you think the Iran-Iraq war was worth it?
2) If there were ringside judges who carefully examined all factors, to whom would the decision have gone to after the Iran-Iraq war?
3) Should Iran receive credit for weakening Iraq in preparation for the 2 fights Iraq had with America?
4) If you were forced by some diety to go back in time and become a soldier, which would you select: to be a Persian trying to fight through the Spartan roadblock at Thermopylae, a regular fighting in a battle against Alexander of Macedonia, a soldier in the Iran-Iraq war, or a modern soldier in the possible upcoming fight with America?
5) For a payment of $50,000 upfront for yourself and another half a million for your family upon a successful mission completion, would you join a terrorist squad working in Iraq to ambush American security forces? (if you've already been signed up and have sworn to secrecy, go ahead and skip this question) :)

er, didnt iraq invade iran? it wasnt "worth" anything to iran.
It has been called "the longest conventional war of the 20th century", and cost 1 million casualties and US$1.19 trillion.

You're being a dimwit again like on the other thread. When 2 countries go to war, either side can benefit. Ah duh :crazyeye: Obvious example... the Soviet Union was invaded and added on an extra third in the process.

yes. the soviet union was invaded and won huge amounts of land after.
but, uh, wasnt the Iran-Iraq war , (not the nazi invasion of the Soviet union)a horribly costly war for both sides? and thus fairly definately "not worth it".
dimwit...thanks. youve made my list.

as i said iranians seperate to 3 group
1- fundamentalism that every thing you heard about iran is from this group
they believe that islam is best way for life and Israel must destoried and else you know
their number is about 5 to 10 persent of poeple
2- modernists like western way for life and development
they think Israel and muslims can live in peace
thier number is also about 5 to 10 persent
3- all other poeple. they don't think about israel or other things they think about thier life and economic problems
they are living and don't think about life's style

university students have the same kinds
but because they are youth think more htan others about new ways for life
some student find new ways in western ways and some others find in islamic ways but major of them find life way in living

I'm a university student too and from a religious family
I think in Iranian ways of life not western and not islamic
maybe you think this a nationalistic way but I think Islam is a part of iranian identity and so life way contain islamic ways but not all life way is islamic but some of life way and style is islamic
is this enough?

well sort, are you saying that youre family is a part of the 5-10% of religious people?

and if so, then youre not a part of the majority, how nationalistic are the majority of iranians, and how do they feel about arabs (i think you covered islam pretty good), any feelings of resentment towards them because of the 80s war?

all my muzic sources is internet and speed of internet in iran is not high so i can easiely download muzic but video is a little hard and need more time
but i can buy some CDs from market contain muzic videos and I have plantey of CDs and have 3 CDs of Britney and 2 of Shakira

but because of language most of poeple like to hear and watch iranian singer live mostly in US like Dj Arash and Dj aligator, they sing in persian

Iranians call UK old colonist and old fox and they don't like british so if you travel in NZ passport you will be in more walfare because if you travel to Iran by a Uk passport, many poeple in iran ask that why Uk is so bad man, but with a NZ passport they ask where is the NZ?

no direct fly from isreal to iran and you must enter from Dubai because imarat air have too fly to iran and if in your passport shows that your ex traveling country is israel may have some problem and on port you must assure that you are not a spy of Israel espicailly if you are a jew

I think coming iran with a white passport that shows you directly fly from you homeland to iran is a better way

last question you answered

if you will be in iran i will be happy to guide you if you wanna!

thank you for reading all of them can i ask you what is the overall trend of questions?

1) Irani-Iraqi war is a imposed war and in Iran everybody call it IMPOSED WAR
so IMO defenders must defend until invader come back or place too much solders in invader's territory to force him to accept peace
or too much casualities for invader side to accept peace
like ex times in history we defend our land to invader get back next times that Iranian poeple defend weakly they gain very large casualities and I think if iran don't defend Iraq will capture all of Iran and today US must be in war a great Iraq and probely Saddam have power and even more power to attack others and maybe all of persian gulf region is under the control of Saddam
so it not inly worth to us to defend against saddam but it worth for all of the world that Iranians defend against Iraq although many Arab countries and others help Iraq against Iran
