Quite true. It can be a blemish on your reputation as a good-standing diplomat. But, I have to say that just because the comment is made, does not necessarily means that it can pose a problem such as Amadinejad's quote about the Holocaust and other silly nonsense. So, if I was to weigh which of the one is more rediculous, I would say that the silly Iranian President would be tipping the scale.

I don't know how can anyone can make an reasonable explanation of why an illogical statement being made by her having to be not true on her over-all viewpoint on diplomacy.

Not to be silly. But, to me, what make a diplomat good in my country is a diplomat who follows the Administration's policy.

If that's your criteria, she is a very poor diplomat.

What I was trying to write is that whenever someone defends her silly and rediculous comment, it would be hard to explain the public that it does not necessarily mean that she hold it as a over-all view point on the Iranians in general. It was a stupid comment and could be only a brain-fart on her part.

Actually, I also wanted to add "undead" into my description of her, but the rhythm just didn't work. And by the way, it's not an Iron Cross she's wearing. But it really bears strong connotations.
