Well I live in SoCal so i've never been to a really cold place so 70 is cold for me and thats what it is right now and I am freezing.

Not at all, partly cause I keep forgetting to call my landlord's repair guy to fix it and mostly because we don't want to pay the extra cost of electric heating.

Right now it is about 23C and I am in long pants and a jacket. It rarely gets cold here, so I am with azza on the settings. But I do work in front of a furnance a lot, so I am used to heat, not cold.

Aren't those things banned in Europe starting September 2011? CFLs don't give out heat like an incandescent bulb does.
