For me, my last name is Irish. My grandpa's is Norwegian, and and grandma's is German. I am a mutt. What about you?

Well my family is somewhat newer to America. My Grandma's mom was born in Italy, While my Mom's Great Grandpa was born in Germany (but was Swedish).
So my mom's dad's last name was Swedish but my Grandma's (mom's mom) is Italian... and my Grandma (dad's mom) is Italian too.. But my current last name is Scandinavian I believe (thats what parents say) But according to Wikipedia its Scottish.

My Great Great Grandpa fought for Germany in WWI or WWII. I wish I could learn more, but the history is gone. Almost 1000 years ago, my ancestor was a king of Ossary in Ireland.

My legal last name is of a family that made the hoops for whiskey barrels in england. moms side were just called the profitts so they were probably dirty capitalists in scotland or ireland, i've forgotten. and my (real) dad's family were bakers in england.

My grandpa fought in WW2 as a medic in the Pacific, and he was in all the major battles; (Iwo Jima, Guam, Saipan, Etc..)

According to my dad, my last name was made up when my family immigrated here.

So you'll never know where I'm from!

My first name is Spanish/Latin American, my middle name is Italian (Also my mother's maiden name, her dad was a 2nd- or 3rd-generation immigrant), and my last name is Spanish/Latino. I know I have ancestors from Brazil (Native and European), France, Portugal, Italy and Austria though.

That's really cool! He must have awesome stories to tell.

My last name is a combination of two old Germanic words. I am not really sure of its history, but my guess is that it originated from Northern England. I've heard that my ancestors were originally in the southern Thirteen Colonies, but left as United Empire Loyalists to the British West Indies during the War of Independence. They lived there until Jamaica became independent, when they left for Canada.

My last name means from St Ives, but I'm not sure which one. There are at least 2 St Ives in England and 1 in France. Regardless, the paternal line is clearly Anglo-Norman.

Well he was my step grandpa cause my real one died and before he was going to Vietnam. But the step grandpa died when I was like 2 so well I never heard any of his stories but my grandma and mom tell me.

My surname, Allison )which is an Anglicised form of McAllister), comes from 11th century Scotland, it would seem my family have lived in the same part of Scotland for at least 900 years, I was quite awestruck by that number.
