So which of these characters do you think epitomizes the bad ass soldier who can gun down hundreds of Nazis, robots, demons, ninjas, pirates, and zombies without breaking a sweat? My vote goes for the doom guy. He fought hell itself and won. Through all the episodes he appears in that marine must have killed thousands of demons and even kicked Satan’s butt.

I contemplated adding Duke but he isn't associated with any military organization, is he? He seems to be a vigilante.

Halflife's Freeman: a physisist with a gun and lot's of aliens to shoot. That's two dreams fulfilled in one :)

You must be thinking of Gordon Freeman, Adrian Shepard was just a marine sent to "clean up" the Black Mesa Facility. I don't think he held any advanced degree in physics.

He wasn't called Professor Freeman for his knowledge of botanical species;) They don't tend to let laymen bugger around with particle experiments, do you remember the experiment at the beginning of Halflife?

Hey, you just edited out your mistake after I quoted you. Not fair.

My mistake was based on the original mistake, I'm as good with names as I am with xray chromatography machines. Oh and spelling :)

Thanks for the heads up anyway :)

I'd still go with Duke Nukem. But instead I'm going with Solid Snake.

Hey - *pokes Riesstiu IV* where is the "Other" option. :p

Anyway i can't vote since i dunno all of those guys ... It wouldn't be an objective vote. :)

No one can really compare to the Duke, but as he's not an option i'm going to vote for the Wolfenstein guy. He came first, he came best. :p

I'll have to go with Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. I don't know.. there's this thing about super hi-tech ninja that is cool i guess. Plus he has some humor..

Blazkowicz of course. he killed Hitler in a robot suit for crying out loud!

Mein Leben! Die you allied Schweinhund!

Definitely Jack Carver. I think this exchange with the black guy epitomizes it.

Black guy: "You do know how to fly a hang glider, right?"
Jack: "No, but I learn pretty quick when people are shootin' at me!"
