Betting and Speculation - The "Entirely Separate Hypercube" Civ!

Well it was probably taken down because I didnt post any screens other than the game on my steam, cant blame the mods. I was quite excited to share stuff:D

Anyway, I've contacted them and waiting for their feedback now=)
That's great! ¡Lo esperaré!

I dunno. Guaranteed scarchers would be pretty nice, especially if they'd already had a promotion.

Yeah, I was going back and forth there. My thought is, if the scout itself is stronger, there's less need for Scout Archers.

Well seeing as everyone is talking and there has been no Mod action here it seems like just one more drop in the ocean at this point but one of the things in the thread was that Venice get their first UGP when they tech optics.

Hey, it's a freelance work for a website and I was told there was no NDA. I specifically asked the chief editor for it and informed him I was gonna give some info to civfanatics too. So on my part, either I'm misinformed or there are no risks :)
Well, someone somewhere has done something wrong - no-one should have access without an NDA, as I understand it.

Well, it's getting weird ... isn't that a bit too much effects for one UA ?
- Cannot found or annex cities
- Can purchase buildings on puppet cities
- Great merchant can "buy" CS's
- Double trade routes
- Free UGP at optics

*Fixed, since the UGP is a unique unit, not a unique ability.

The Great Merchant attributes would be self-contained in the Unique Great Merchant, I'd wager.

Yeah, I don't believe a drop of it, besides Venice and the Shosone being the remaining two civs.......

The Hun ability has four separate aspects (though one is purely aesthetic), so it's not unprecedented, but I'm still suspicious until there are believable screenshots (or official confirmation).

This sounds horrible!
Hopefully this is not true.

I'm in stage of denial... I hope it's not true.

Why? If it is true it offers at the very least a unique way of playing the game. I think it sounds fun. There are still a jillion other civs you can use to play a more conventional game.

I wonder if I can get that $30 off that guy who said Venice wasn't going to be in now?

Hopefully the mods can sort this out quickly, not because I want to know the remaining two civs, but because that $30 can be put towards cheap wine and taco ingredients.

Why? Because while it is unique, it's horribly crippling and unfair. It's just how I see it, and I'm not the only one (and I'm surprising as the dislike for this)

Yes, I like the IDEA, but in EXECUTION this is going to end up horrible.

I don't think this type of outside of the box mechanics have a place in a game like Civilziation 5, if it was a Paradox game, I'd probably say "awesome". But in a simple game like Civ 5 this is horribly crippling and quite honestly a horrible idea.

So in this supposed slip up, what were the leaders/UUs of Venice and the Shoshone?

*Fixed, since the UGP is a unique unit, not a unique ability.

Well, in that case, according to the infomations we have, Venice would something like

UA :
- Cannot found or annex cities
- Can purchase buildings (and units ?) in the puppet cities
- Has double trade routes

UU :
- Unique great merchant : Can puppet CS
- "Great galleass" : ?

This sounds horrible!
Hopefully this is not true.

I'm trying to entertain the idea. It's hard to swallow, I'll tell you that... But I'm really hoping it's at least fun to play.
The major problem I see is that it just reinforces the CS aspect of Venice, and make it seem less worthy as a Civ.

And I wonder what the hell they get with the liberty SP tree... a useless settler?

I tought it annexed CS. It just puppets them??
Oh, the horror!!
