Between a nuke and hard place

OCC: OK, Everyone. Begin designing gundams our new space-based militaries. Also. whats the Thanyou empire's answer to escaping the planet? Stay or relocate?

IC:
A calamity. a revolution. even if it's one the very leader decided must be enforced, a major change is still revolution. And no change is greater than what humanity has been forced to adapt too now. it is clear to the Grand Daedwartian Union it's days governing its people are over. In it's current form, that is. It must change. It must adapt. It must learn. We can not return to the old ways. how can we. we no longer can call our own cradle a home truly. We must be prepared for the future. our technology is enough to get by on, but it must be developed.

THE UNION IS NO MORE. We are now the United Technocractic Republic.
Preamble: We, the Dadwa people, understand in this bleak future there is hope. In hope, Survival. We must work together. We must be meritocratic in behavoir.

Article One:Government
The Highest form of government is the Technocracy Council, chosen by the people in fair elections, which shall be private, and shall be secular.
Seat 1 is agriculture
seat 2 is engineering
Seat 3 is is scientific matters
seat 4 is military matters.
seat 5 is security
seat 6 is colonization and exploration
seat 7 is foreign affairs
seat 8 is Heavy industry
seat 9 is Light industry and raw materials
seat 10 is financial affairs.
They will preside over the entire government's administration.
To be valid, one must meet certain requirements, which varies between departments, and must be meritocratic in nature. Being related to a high government member has no effect on this, and legal charges can be pressed on said government member for trying to avoid this law.
Article 2: Religion, Speech, and rights.
[occ: same as the bill of rights. plus the official language being newspeak... which doesn't actually make free thought impossible. it new because we we trying to unify the 400 some odd languages we had. never once was a attempt to control them. even if threes no word for sun.]

theirs more to it, but i dont want to bore you.

The Imperial Tambien Duchy, while recognizing the need for change in the face of this disastrous calamity, will not abandon its heritage and history for the sake of expediency.

As such, the Imperial Tambien Duchy will adopt the following reforms:

His Imperial Majesty Duke-Emperor Horatio Tambun XVI will be, for a short time, given Emergency Powers.

The First Citizen shall be elected when the Duke Emperor orders a return to the former Constitution.

The Imperial Senate shall exist as an advisory body until the Duke Emperor orders a return to the former Constitution.

The Imperial Court shall be put under the control of the Duke Emperor until the Duke Emperor orders a return to the former Constitution.

The Imperial Tambien Duchy will adopt a system of Provinces, to be governed by the Duke Emperor's appointed Imperial Governors until the Duke Emperor orders a return to the former Constitution.

May Tamb save us all.

Tautal-2.png

The UTR has developed a map of what Tautal shall look like after quick-forming. The main difference is that Tautal will have water instead of methane seas and large lakes and seas where large impacts occur (from the quick-forming. I am flinging rocks at it.) We have also made a Deal with The Imperial Tambien Duchy, as you can sea on the map. This was a offer made in consideration of a offer the Duchy gave us, which their end should be announced any time soon.

OCC: that purple triangle is 1: actually curved, and 2: the planet.

The ITD's map of what Catamitus will look like, and projected initial colonization. The island outlined in red will be the center of the new ITD on Catamitus, while that outlined in blue will be ceded to the UTD as a place to put their citizens while they QuickForm Tatual. The entire planet, minus the described island, is considered property of the ITD.

All of Phoroneus is consider to be New England land. Seeing as it is pretty much a solid ball, with a few relatively large sources of frozen water, there's no map necessary.

OCC: we did orginally hijack this, but we've managed to bring it back to having been between a nuke and a hard place (this being surviving the nuke's use.)

Well, this seems like as good a time as any to join. As the Great Emperor METY seems to have abandoned his people, the local governor of the Thanyou colony on Epica, whose name is obviously Bosco, has declared the region semi-autonomous. Bosco is elevated to emperorship, and the remaining population (about 300,000) moves underground to build the cavern-city of Bosco Central half a mile below the surface. There is no military, as there is no one left to fight. The main food sources are mushrooms, cattle that feed on mushrooms, and milk-based products that taste faintly of mushrooms. Slight irony here, as the :nuke:mushrooms:nuke: destroyed this land in the first place.

The Bosconians, in the next years, build an economy around the only food that grows here, the mushrooms, and cut off any contact to the overworld and its colonies. Technological development is focused on fusion reactors and artificial sunlight to grow ANYTHING BUT those godawful (sorry, metyawful) mushrooms. Eventually, the overworld is completely forgotten, except for the God METY. This is hastened by the mind-altering gas that Bosco had in reserve during the Crisis, which he used so that his people would be un-traumatized by the horror a nuclear apocalypse entails.

Contact from another nation on a return trip would prove interesting at the least. The Bosconians are very sheltered in their cavern-nation.

EDIT: The next person we welcome should be greeted with something like: "Welcome to CivFanatics S&T, a desolate fallout-strewn wasteland where the only inhabitants left live underground and obsess over mushrooms."

Don't forget the Nians, who were neutral and smart and live in safety now! (And the Terexicans)

OCC: hate to burst your bubble, but The next update will only advance time one year. so there hasn't been enough times for years to pass. Also, had you paid attention, you would know those colonies are actually Daedwartian Zones under occupation. And that means the dominate culture is Dadwa, which is likely the hardest culture to subvert with your own (think China in ability to survive, but america in liberalism. even the Grand Daedwartian Union was simply just the Dadwa Empire governed by democracy than something that made no sense). You Technically would be a governor-general in charge of a occupation, in an area that after 100 years of occupation is still(was, nukes tend to reduce things like this) giving massive resistance. AND there's the fact we had already pretty much retaken the zones anyways.

But you aren't down here under half a mile of stone, are you? :p Plus:

As the Great Emperor METY seems to have abandoned his people... Bosco has declared the region semi-autonomous.

So it HAS been accounted for.

And I'm aware years haven't passed yet, but since my only updates would be "we grow mushrooms" I felt explaining many turns in advance would be more efficient.

OOC: Eh, sorry mate. To do that you would have had to have done this years ago, as centuries have passed since the Daedwa occupation.

Feel free to keep the same history and everything, though, if you move the the Metyan Epica possessions.

Sure. That works.

@trex: If there is a nuclear apocalypse, where else would you go?
