BirdNES 3: Discussions & Questions

It's not that complicated. The previous Great Prince sent an embassy to London to establish trade relations and to marry off one of his numerous princesses during the past turn. LightFang was apparently only happy to agree, but reluctant to give her the Heir Apparent, Arthur, because of some standing engagements with Spain. I pondered the amusement value of giving Henry VIII (the other choice) a head-start on his, ahem, married life, but nonetheless argued that that those standing engagements were far from set in stone at the time. Then he left and you took over, and the ambiguity remained unresolved. So?

Your princess got Henry III.

Thanks! I am only at war with people who wish to challenge the true Emperor. No one will dare I think.

... You declared war on Austria, the rest of the Holy Roman Empire, anyone with lands in Italy, more specifically the Pope, being as how he controls ROME...

You really think you're going to win this? Like, really?

Is a spurious claim actually a declaration of war? :dunno:

Despite Strat declaring himself Emperor of Constantinople, I don't see him duking it out with Azale.

Thats different, Strategos has been here longer, Espoir is a new guy

You honestly believe it is because Az respects Strat that he does nothing IC in regards to the "Emperor of Constantinople" and not because it would be strategically untenable and worthless in-game for him to do so?

I was talking about peoples reaction to espoirs declaration

Hey, I'd be munching on just as much popcorn if das had issued that he is now Emperor of China.

There is a Russian-language pun/Moscow joke I could make here (it's about Kitai-Gorod), but I won't.

The etymology of the name is unclear. Gorod is the Russian for town, whereas Kitai is the Russian for China (cf. Cathay). Accordingly, the popular translation might be Chinatown -- however, it is universally agreed by scholars that the name originally had nothing to do with Kitai as in "China."

So what's the joke? :p

That's pretty much it, Cathay is already but a tiny part of my glorious empire. :p (Even though yes, it actually has nothing at all to do with China)

Just you wait.

Azale and strategos do not have countries right next to each other.

It is not the same with Hungary and their respective "friends" ;)

Orders on Tuesday, this whole Hungary mess is altering my carefully crafted plans :(
