If not too late

Faction Name: Brunswick Nation
Leader Name: Adam Rillado
Leader Trait: Lucky
Starting Location: Highland Park, NJ (a hill in the bend of the Raritan river, overlooking a small valley and surrounded by bigger cities)

Leader Background: Born and raised in Highland Park, Rillado is the grandson of the man who managed to organise and save most of the people in the town by leading them into the ancient fallout shelter located beneath the school before the illeffects from the New York bombings reached them. Rillado has always been known for his luck. Once as a child, he waundered off. He was soon assailled by a Feral Ghoul. Trying to run away, Rillado crashed into a rotten tree. The tree broke and fell on the Ghoul, while leaving Rillado unharmed. It soon became clear that Rillado had the same talent for organisation as his grandfather and had soon become the defacto leader of the community. Soon, he was officialy voted into the post of commander.

Origins: Survivors
Traits: Technocratic
Capital Type: Pre-War Community

Background: Basically, explained in the leaders background. After coming out of the shelter, they quickly armed themselves as they saw some wandering monsters in the vally. They pursued technological advancement as most where proffesors at the local college across the river. They believe that restoring technology is the first step to restoring society. However, they have shown a somewhat expansionist attitude(mostly searching for tech parts, but also as a way of clearing the area of monsters.) They have become very nationalistic and put the survival of their small community over the wellbeing of anybody else.

cindle:

Vaults on the West Coast are generally lower-numbered, so you may want to consider vault numbers less than 20.

(Vaults 3, 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19 all exist in canon, and are located in California or Nevada.)

@ChiefDesigner: Don't worry too much about Fallout canon. As you may have noticed I allowed a Vault 215, even though no more than 150 were ever concieved of in the original canon. I'd prefer to keep it, that while we use the Fallout universe as our base, we can construct our own canon involving some of the events and locations involved.

Hey EQ can you tell me the symptoms of this mysterious disease so that I may (possibly) write a story about it? I've been trying to find something to write a story about but nothing has really sparked my interest yet, as I've just been establishing my settlers. This could be something good, though :).

Feel free to make up your own symptoms bestshot.

Faction Name: Kritarchy of United Slavers (KOUS or KUS)
Leader Name: Paul Meltan
Leader Trait: Fearsome
Starting Location: Lafayette Swamplands
Leader and Faction Background: Paul Meltan emerged from the rubble of what was once known as Washington DC. On that fateful day
the bombs fell, the young Meltan had in a last minute attempt secured a spot in Vault 112. Little did he know that Vault 112
housed the GECK, a horrendous device created by the notorious Dr. Stanislaus Braun. Meltan fell victim to the GECK,
living in a virtual world known as Tranquility Lane until 2140 when he received freedom from his captor. The price was heavy.
Meltan's job was to satisfy the dark needs of Braun, doing all his evil deeds, eventually adopting Braun's lifestyle of authority and punishment as his own. Nevertheless, rewarded Braun Meltan by preserving his body during the hundred years of solitude in Tranquility Lane.
Sickened by the anarchy and lack of justice that the survivers of the DC ruins displayed, Meltan used the techniques he learned from Braun to his advantage, gaining authority with force. Meltan engaged in the slave trade, selling captured ghouls, raiders, even children to wandering nomads. But his success came with heavy consequences when a rival slaver put a price on Meltan's head. Infuriated by the lack of justice, but unable to dish out vengeance, Meltan fled south.
After 4 months of abusing stealth boys and sneaking around raider camps, Meltan found peace and stability in the quiet but mysterious swamplands of Louisiana, near the ruins of New Orleans. Despising the chaos of his former surroundings , Meltan began a campaign to establish a society in which justice would be held with the utmost priority- by punishing the savage, inhuman slaves and those who reject slavery and its lifestyle.
Meltan found his supporters within the surrounding raider communities. Providing the knowledge and secrets he learned through Braun, Meltan tought the former slaves how to purify the swampwater with radaway, how to create ammunition with an ammo press (which Meltan found in the deserted industrial community of Atlanta) and how to breed the Swamplurk (type of Mirelurk) and how to cultivate Punga Fruit. This new sense of civilization and luxury convinced many slavers to commit themselves to Meltan's new vision of the wasteland. Raiders joined the newly formed Kritarchy(rule by judges) of United Slavers in the masses. Those who refused were forced into slavery.
Meltan was hailed as the High Judge of KOUS. Meltan also created nominated other Justices to preserve the new law of the land. Those who were loyal to the founding of KOUS were rewarded with prestigious positions. The Judges would ensure the labor slaves remain enslaved and obedient, that the military slaves remain loyal and effective in battle, and finally that all injustices will be punished. But Meltan had a compassionate and forgiving heart, and presented an opportunity to the slaves who fight in the military to be freed from captivity in addition to a position as an officer of the militia. To earn this promotion the slave must prove his effectiveness in battle and his loyalty to Justice and the High Judge.

Origins: Tribal Nomads
Traits: Expansionist
Capital Type: Tribal Community

@The tyrant: I must request that the Enclave and Paradise Falls be eliminated from your story. Good references to Fallout 3, but neither organization exists so far in this NES.

Man, I hate doing this. No super mutants yet either. We're very early in the Fallout timeline. I am sorry about this.
