Brazil - Pedro II Thread

I believe it's a bit wrong to rename all videos threads to the leaders presented. The video has much more than the leader presentation.

Yes, given how many of the conversations have ended up going, it might make more sense to have two threads for each video, one to discuss the leader and one to discuss the mechanics.

Good to see Australia get a mention in the continent section.

What is this "Australia" you speak of? ;)

I wonder if they plan on putting Australia in as a DLC or in a future expansion. It would be weird playing as Australia but be on a different continent, while another civ is on the Australian continent :crazyeye:

There's definately anotehr screen with different great People on it.. would be great to get a clearer shot of that as well.

Later era great people are more powerful then early game great people but the snowball effect of early great people is something to consider. You can if you want save your points for late game great people.

They are much cheaper then in Civ V. 40 points is not much, a holy district with a shrine produce 2 points per turn.

I can't seem to get to the blog entry - that link just takes me to the main page. When I go to the 'news' section on the official website, I can't find it either. Any ideas?

I had same problem with France. There is something wrong with their page it seems.

UA: Districts receive major adjacency bonuses from (implied unimproved) rainforest/jungle.

Adjacency bonus is standard.

Well there is the "Great Barrier Reef" and now Australia as a continent... Might as well call it Civ: Australia!

5th level city requires 2 amenities. It looks like the number of amenities don't depend on population and is just a limit to the number of cities. In this case it's expansion limiter only. Looks ok to me. Now we need to know:
- How the amenities are distributed between cities if we have some, but not enough.
- How the amenities over the required number are used.
- Are there any mechanic which lower amenities.
- How amenities are gained.
...

Well, quite a lot of things.

it looks like a 5 pop city needs 2 amenities, not '5 cities need 2 amenities'.

so it does look like a population limiter.

also --

lots of sources for gaining amenities. the pic in this thread says "improve luxury resources"
war weariness and bankruptcy are listed in the amenities, so easy guess that they reduce amenities (doubt being tired of war would boost them).

amenities also affect growth (post consumption, so not a yield reducer), before housing does.

It is possible that how many amenities you need depend on how many cities you have. So if you had 20 cities you maybe need 10 amenities per city.

So, Great Prophets have names now? That seems like a bit of a minefield.
