Do you guys keep it? If you do, why, and for how long? I really can't think of any good reason to do so. If you need to go back to a site enough times you can just bookmark it. Or are there other reasons I'm overlooking? Other thoughts, snarky comments, and puns about history are also welcome.

I don't keep it at all. I don't trust these computer thingies one little bit.

How do you bring yourself to use one then?

I do rm ~/.firefox every now and then, when it crashed and doesn't want to restart. I should clear out my laptop more often, I suppose.

^^Sometimes I'm just very daring. But there's no point exposing yourself more than necessary. And I'm getting increasingly paranoid. :scan:

I clear it out whenever, its not that big a deal for me.

I keep it, but it's not much help, I can never remember what the hell I'm looking for anyway.

I very, very rarely clear it out. I don't use bookmarks so it is okay for me.

Google's Chrome tells me my profile can't be opened everytime I open the app, and apparently that makes some features unusable. One of those features is history, so I have none to delete.

I'm among those who used to delete it frequently and now rarely or never. Honestly history is only for your convenience any tracking done on you isn't deleted

This makes some sense. On the other hand, how would you know who has access to your history too?

I rarely actually delete my browser history, but by default, my browser (Opera) only stores a certain amount of sites visited, anyway. So, in practice, only relatively recent history is actually still available.

I find it occasionally useful. Sometimes I accidentally close the browser, and then it's handy for getting back to where I was (especially if I'd followed a lot of links). And sometimes I want to look up more about something a day or two later. Being able to search the history is often fairly efficient then.

I don't use bookmarks much anymore. I used to, but that lead to the problem of having so many bookmarks that they weren't helpful anymore. Nowadays, I use Firefox's Bookmark Bar for the most important links at work, and when I want to save something for future reference at home, I usually save it to my hard drive. But even that is fairly rare.

I should've voted forever, but oh well. :p

Anyways, I sort-of keep it "forever", but really, I delete it every few months or so.
