Do you have any plans to incorporate the modern era exp for VD?

no, my mod does include something similar though, so I do have many similar units to MEE.

(my main desire for Civ5 would be a modding system that makes it easier to pick and choose and combine mods, so you don't have to choose between different but equally good mods like this)

look no further than World of Civilizations then, it needs some time to mature, but that is what you will get from it

Also, although the new resources look really good, good enough to be in the original game, and I wouldn't want to see them go, would they not unbalance things a bit, in their global effects on heath and happiness?

they probably do ;) if you do not want them due to this, simply delete the resources directory.

I was trying to think of a way round this, but couldn't come up with anything much (new buildings with negative health/happiness effects that the new resources are needed to counter? Or limits on the benefits you get from resources in the same 'category', e.g. if you have apples you get no extra benefit from having lemons as well, something like that?)

I won't include anything like that (as it won't be possible with just xml), so if you want to limit them, you might as well get rid of them imo as then the only thing they add is different looks.
 
If any sounds are missing, they might also miss on my end, but they would need to be sounds from the new civilizations. I used existing xml and it might still refer to sounds I did not copy over.
 
Hm, it seems filefront has deleted the upload in the meantime. I am uploading again, but it will take a while to get there. I'll post again once the upload has finished.
 
well i checked the cannon and sure enough its a red dot. so i downloaded your fix and put it in so it works great now ;). i posted the fix for it in my thread so anyone playing my mod could get it easy and install it.

oh by the way we are having a small problem with the english scout. he doesnt have or use any weapons. i was wondering if you have noticed anything like this. if not then its just something in my mod that i havnt found yet :)
 
I am aware of the scout missing its weapon, I used an unfinished unit from Cultural Diversity. I will fix it once the final version is available from the next CD version (which will be released shortly).

If you do not want to wait, use a different / the regular scout.

I don't like the thought of you using half finished units mamba. :p I also modified the texture, but not sure whether it's better or worse. He's using a short sword for the moment anyway.

I'll probably remake it completely one day.
