[NFP] Bug or mod problem? Active volcanoes look extinct since april patch.

I reported this in a bug section and I suspect it has something to do with reloading saves. But it stumped me when other save files are working properly. Perhaps something is wrong with graphic components not loading correctly?

Any suggestion on what may be causing the issue among the patch changes?

I can't really see anything which might have unintentionally triggered this

Man, we saw it on the livestream and I was crossing my fingers it was a one off thing.

But what makes you think they're making a break till September? I haven't seen any announcement that says that (except that Hoody that says end of cycle, but that's not a proof indication of that).

That's what happened after the last patch to GS. We went 6-8 months without a couple bugs being fixed, including one which ruined multiplayer for many people.

That kind of long silence and the community's request for more frequent communication I believe influenced their decision to have monthly updates.

I'm hoping for a hotfix but I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait until September or thereabouts.

That's exactly why I don't think that there won't be any Communication till September. NFP has completely changed the Communication between the Devs and the Community, for the better. But it would be ok for me if there won't be a Hotfix Update until September. The more Time they take to Fix things the better.

Since the Note of Thanks from the Devs (and Sid Meier himself in the Video!), it's probably it for Civ VI. So no more Content or Balance Patches, but eventually some Hotfixes (or at least a Big one if they take enough Time for it). And Hotfix Updates shouldn't take longer than Balance patches, since this latters require much more testing (otherwise, Hotfixes could really break the Game, so...).

bumping this thread to report what I've figured out now about how my game's handling volcano and flood graphics

The following seems to be very consistent: the first time I load a save file after launching the game, the graphics appear as expected, but any subsequent loads will result in the graphics being missing. The graphics return when I exit the game entirely and relaunch.
In other words, it seems that pressing "exit to main menu", or loading a previous save after already having a game loaded up, will both disable flood and volcano graphics for the rest of the time that I have the Civ 6 application running.

really sucks for people like me who like looking at the graphics and who also like reloading saves to undo mistakes :/

Bumping this thread. Having these same problems now. If I reload any turn or exit to the main menu all natural disasters are invisible, though their affects still occur. It was an unpleasant surprise when what looked to be an inactive volcano exploded , taking out a few units.

Any fix to this solution? Maybe someone had a mod fix?

Felt it a worthy necro. Convinced a person new to the series to buy the Anthology edition. They've also been thoroughly confused as to why some of their tiles can't be improved due to (unknown to them, invisible, bugged) drought.

My drought usually shows. I've noticed the flood barriers sometimes not showing, sometimes do. I thought it was related to my Oceans mod, but maybe not.

I haven't tried this Mod yet, but from a quick look at the files, the fix to non-visible disaster visuals seems plausible (reloading the artdef - with a nice execution btw), so I assume it works pretty fine:
Natural Disasters Missing Art Fix by Rdner

Make sense that its' the artdef breaking

I find that the issues happens when you Load any game for a second time in any given "Game session" (i.e Load Game -> Load Game from there instead ot the Main Menu) and fixes itself when you Load Game -> Exit to Menu -> Load Game again. (even if you had the broken graphics in the first place)

I never had a game start with broken graphics.

On DX11 anyway.
