Bug reports and technical issues

Leoreth I went back and played the same game from an earlier save, this time without worlding anything. The most I did was looking at the map. No religious tweaking this time.

The game played out slightly differently than last time. I didn't take make peace with Rome or Greece, so the wars with Rome and Greece continued much longer this time. For some reason this allowed Rome and Greece to last longer, but they still collapsed by the 8th century. I got a gem event in Australia, and still gave my core cities to Rome before the Arabian spawn so I wouldn't get hit too hard by the flip.

Anyways nearly the exact same thing happened, but on a different date. Ethiopia (which has been dead for hundreds of turns) converted to Orthodoxy, and Orthodoxy popped up in the Norse cities. Greece, which converted last time despite being dead, did not convert this time. The ERE still didn't spawn, I believe because Rome never conquered Byzantium. The AP hasn't been built yet--I intend to build it soon.

So it seems what I did in my last game didn't really matter. The bug was reproduced anyways.

I uploaded a save right before and right after this happens. I use the latest SVN.

What exactly is the bug? Orthodoxy sometimes is autofounded at Kiev's spawn (or if Russia gets orthodox missionaries earlier) and orthodox civs convert to orthodoxy no matter dead or alive. All these are intented, I think there is no bug here.

Kiev spawns later than 804 or 808ad, along with Russia. There's nothing really triggering this as far as I can tell. Orthodox is just appearing suddenly in the Norse cities.

Leo, have a chance to check out the English games I attached?
Not yet, right now I only have the time to attend to stuff that only requires looking at the code.

Btw: is this mod meant to be played on x64 Windows / Wine? Or it would be just better to use Win 32?

P.S: Sukadana should be renamed Palangkaraya on the 1700AD Scenario.
Thanks, I knew the name was outdated but I was unable to find a good replacement.

Windows x64 is perfectly fine. I have no experiences with Wine.

It's a script. The game is therefor forcing the script to be followed. Leorth never disabled it for dead civilizations likely because what if those civs respawn?

They are supposed to naturally gravitate towards orthodoxy as AI, so by forcing them to no matter what be orthodox via script even if dead as AI, one can ensure they have the proper religion. And that means they arent running pantheon if they respawn. However, i believe it is not as simple for greece, which i think does not leave Pantheon unless all Pantheon wonders have been built except for new world only pantheon wonders(which require corn, an therefor can not be built by the old world nations till far enough into time that the only reason you still run pantheon is for religious victory.)

OMG! Leoreth I’m really sorry.. wasn’t really focused last night. I meant Pontianak, not Palangkaraya. Both are capital of provinces in Borneo, Palangkaraya is Central Borneo and Pontianak is West Borneo and I often forgot which is which.

Minor bug in China's UHV:
- start 3000 BC
- build Mausoleum of Maussollos
- the last UHV doesn't really count the number of golden ages, but it looks like it just counts number of turns in golden age
(- i have won historical victory before the end of the 3rd golden age)

I know.

This is a bug? I assumed it was intentional. And really it makes sense and doesn't hurt gameplay in any way. China's UHV is pretty easy either way, just more time consuming if the Mausoleum doesn't help.

In game designing there aren't any bugs, just pleasing accidents. :D

Mexican 1st goal requires 12 cities with catholicism. The problem is that Mexico can't train missionaries. The only solution is switching to scholasticism which is unintented. So here are some solutions that may work:

*Increase the catholicism spread rate and set all the other religions' to zero. This might not work properly on 600AD and 3000BC scenarios.
*Bring the "train missionaries" ability from scholasticism back to organised religion again.
*Gift a catholic monastery to Mexico City as a prebuilt building.

Maybe they should just spawn with SM?

Scientific Method.

I thought the problem was that they already had Scientific Method, and so can't build any monasteries that would be necessary to spread Catholicism.

Oh, I meant to say without SM.
