C2C SVN Changelog

Update

  • Adjusted basic animal STR and MOVE (terrain & feature bonuses not yet included.)
  • Adjusted War Weariness for most Government Civics. In most cases reduced penalties/bonuses. (Thank you JosEph_II for concept testing)
  • Slightly reduced benefits of Chiefdom to be less militaristic. Troops can no longer be used to suppress angry citizens. Removed "No  in Capital" bonus. +5% :food: required for City growth as citizens give food offerings to Chief.
  • Adjusted Despotism to provide more value as an early "warmonger" Government. Numerous changes (see Civics thread for details.)
  • Pacifism scaled back to not be OP. Numerous changes (see Civics thread for details.)

Update

  • Removed some incorrect "strategy" text for Civics which displayed in the Civic choice screen. This is the text that appears in gray at the top in the right panel when selecting a Civic. It also displays when the option comes up to immediately change civics upon tech discovery.

now that you mention it why strategy text was removed at first place(i a not refering to this)

Just a pre-emptive heads up opinion from me. V18 release has to be put on hold until such time as we can eradicate the CTDs people are seeing lately (DH, Hydro, et al). Nothing else comes close to being as important as this IMO. We should stay in freeze until that issue is resolved.

Please remove the 9-30.dll patch from the patch thread as it causes havoc on Base v17 games. Same for the DH Assets Update file.

Thank you

JosEPh.

Problem is that for most people it doesn't (it actually solves some CTDs). Right now you are the only person I am aware of who has crashes that happen with those changes but not without. Clearly there is SOMETHING wrong with them, but it's far from clear that they have more negative effect (on peope, generally) than positive. It may relate to choice of game options or something (though I would expect that to show up in yoru save games, which all work fine for me, so perhaps it's not that). I prefer to leave it unless I hear from a wider sample fo poeple that they are havign recurrant problems with that patch.

What about trying the reverse? Instead of you, Koshling, testing "faulty" game saves, what if sometimes people with issues tested a game save made by you? It would have to be done on a fresh "install" of C2C using the settings you, Koshling, believed were the default/standard.

(Just throwing ideas out since it seems we're hitting a wall.)

Won't work in Joseph's case since he isn't on SVN so couldnt load a game from later asset builds. Anyway, we know that Joseph's case is somehow related to the assets changes in DH's patch, but don't understand the causative link.

In general (in cases where we cannot reproduce anything from save games [fortunately a minority, though a very annoying one]) the best approach is generally for the person able to reproduce them to use SVN to get DLL builds from different revs and work out which rev started the issue. Obviously that only works for people with (a) time; and (b) SVN.

Anyway, see errors thread - it's looking like I **might** have cracked the occassional CTD issue a few people have been having recently.

Updated spelling of cassowary so it can be subdued.

edit latest test, latest svn (+all Hydros animals) - non repeatable crashes on turn 32, 52, 98. Nothing for over 200 turns.

Was that entire timeline ALL on the latest DLL (yesterday evening), or was that over a couple of days (in which case at what poitn was the latest DLL introduced)?

Just pushed a version wherein fixed borders are a game option. Defaults to ON. If switched off no fixed border mechanics will be present from any source.

I am retired, and my friends who are also retired are in Europe, so it was one 14 hour session, yesterday. No new dll was added. This (evening concept) is the problem when we live on opposite sides of the planet. It is early morning here now, the sun is just coming up.

Just pushed to SVN:

Tweaked the way modifiers operate on negative base commerce (see buildings thread)

Fixed a bug whereby great commanders could command far beyond their allotted command points if a unit under their command was attacked (and survived) multiple, times per turn.

@SO - just to let you know I have no further changes planned for V18 (subject to urgent requests), so it's gtg from my perspective.
