C2C - Transhuman Era

civplayer 8

What can you do with this?

Great Firewall
Tech: Cyberwarfare
"Google Great Firewall of China". A national firewall that only allows authorized information to be seen on the Internet.

Integrated Network Command
TECH: Integrated Network Command
All the branches of the Military, police,
national departments of homeland security, as well as foreign intelligence are linked under one secure Network.
A civic unlocked is Integrated Network Command, very costly but drastically reduces foreign Espinage. Allows Battlespace to be built.

Civilian Survillance
TECH: Machine Learning
Allows the government to create pervasive surveillance of its citizens, and collect information about them.
Allows Integrated Criminal Database, Citizen Databank, and Eagle Eye [ the supercomputer AIIRA].

Is this a wonder? It sounds like it should be.
Integrated Network Command
Excellent!
Civilian Survillance
Hmmm... What civic should this fall under? BTW, remember we already have "AI Surveillance" under Technocracy, however I have plans to move that. *Sigh* This is why I want Ordinances, it would allow for a whole new level of strategy. :hmm:

@MrAzure

These all look fine. In the future assume silence is good. We will let you know if we have a problem with something. Otherwise keep going.

Gotcha!

Added: Subterran Warfare
X81, y15
Requires Mechatronics AND Rapid Prototyping
Units: Armored Minelayer (Anti-Tank Vehicle)
Units: Radar Jammer

Units: UAV that can drop heavy dumb explosives
Units: UAV that can scan for mines
Units; Trapdoor Turret [Anti-UAV/infantry)-no effect on vehicles]

Armored Minelayer
A vast upgrade from the old First world war versions which were far more likely to seriously wound their victims instead of killing them.

The Mine Layer itself is armored enough to take a beating, allowing it to escape most encounters with only scratches, owing to its great speed. It can carry five mines.

Due to the Allies' excessive use of infantry raids in World War III, the Soviets developed the Anti-Personal Mine Layer. This vehicle could place small mines at positions where the Soviets predicted that the Allies were likely to move their troops such as "back doors" to Soviet bases. The Mine Layer itself was armored enough to take a beating, allowing it to escape most encounters with only scratches, owing to its great speed.

A mine layer may crush infantry under its tread, but otherwise have no secondary weapon, except for mines.

The mine design is a small designed "bom ball" with detection wire spreaded and planted around its body. It is equipped with the latest anti tamper device and will not be detonated easily if nearby ordnance exloded. It will seriously, if not kill, injured infantry but have lower damage rate against armored vehicle. The mine is (clearly) one time expendable ordnance as when it is used, it's expended. In some version of Red Alert it is loaded for free.

Radar jammer

The vehicle is basically a treaded armored vehicle who house a portable radar jammer. The basis of the vehicle may be APC or Minelayer, as both are observed to have required mobility. The jamming equipment jams radar screen by creating a large "fog of war" around the vehicle. It only affects radar screens, as the actual vehicle is virtually unarmed and can still be observed with the naked eye.

Can that actually be done on a unit?

Can that actually be done on a unit?

Read above, more units I forgot to add.

If units could delete "line of sight" it would be perfect. If they cant, can units stealth units under its stack?

Radar Jammers would work like this. ALL units except for infantry less than 2 Range cannot see it. The purpose is to prevent UAV and Aircraft spamming.

Now with Minelayers, it can lay up to 5 mines,( everytime it lays a mine its strength goes down by 1/4.99. After it lays all 5 mines, it must stop and recover it strength). It can dig its self underground to hide.

http://www.ted.com/talks/anthony_atala_printing_a_human_kidney.html

Actually printing a human organ that worked. Awesome video, Digital Era Technology reached.
Engineered working heart valve, bladder, kidney, liver, bone, trachea, skin. 30 different tissues and whole organs.
Meet a guy with a 10 year old engineered bladder, it saved his life. (No more news stories, I'll get organized and list suggestions on what value a tech could be given. I thought this one would be worth it)

Neither of these things is possible currently. Needs a new mechanic. The mechanic may not be too much work. The AI to use it effectively is likely to be more.

Also a line of sight less than 1 tile probably can't really be made to work, since if it cannot be seen from an adjacent tile then movement into its tile appeasr to be possible but would result in an attack you were not expecting to make. That either requires substantial (AI and mechanic) work to cope with the possibility, simply making the move illegal (so you get a red circle indocuatign you cannot move there with no reason given as to why, which would be yucky), or a popup 'you discovered enemy units, do yuo want to attack?' dialog, which would be fairly nightmarish to handle in the AI.

Because of the above I think the mechanic would have to be that the unit stealthed its stack, in which case enemy units (that cannot see invisible) can move through it and so end the tun on the same tile without any attack (not sure that's what we want either).

A new mechanic which reducing all line of sight to the unit (stack) to 1 tile would be possible (it can be seen as normal from an adjacent tile, but not from any further away). However, I tyink in the hands of a player this would be OP against the AI without a massive amount of AI work (it would have to learn to deploy skirmish lines of spotters and so on to counter attacks using this mechanism)

Thunderbrd has been PMing me recently about his new Unit mechanics, which so far seem pretty beefy. I'll ask him if that is possible without rewriting an enormous amount of code.
If we cant to that..the Tech dies then.

Added Flak Cannon
Requires Controlled Plasma and Metamaterials

Unit: Flak Cannonneer (Anti-Plasmatrooper)
Flack Turret (Anti-Aircraft)
Flak Cannnon (Digital)---------> Burst Cannon (Cyber-???)

This weapon fired explosive shells whose blast or fragments was a hazard to aircraft in close formation. Some call it the exploding shotgun. The flak cannon was so successful that the weaponry was soon used by infantry and deployed on wheels. The latter two though had the advantage of firing the flak on enemy infantry. Shells would be fired in the general area of the target, which would then explode, filling the area with shrapnel.

Added Superstealth
Requires Stealth AND micromechanics and Metamaterials

Stealth (x77)
Superstealth (x84)
Invisibility ( moved to x95- requires superstealth and nanoelectronics and digital membrane)

All aircraft speeds are subsonic speed (the supersonic noise gives them away-very slow but very hard to detect)
Units: Superstealth Bomber
Darkhawk Fighter (new version of f-117 Nighthawk)
???? Gunship (Stealth Gunship)
??? Transport (Stealth Dropship)

he Next-Generation Bomber program (formerly called the 2018 Bomber) is a medium bomber under development by the United States Air Force to fulfill the Pentagon's "Long-Range Strike-B" (LRS-B) requirement. It was originally projected to enter service around 2018 as a super stealthy, subsonic, medium range, medium payload "B-3" type system to augment and possibly to a limited degree replace the U.S. Air Force's aging bomber fleet.

On 24 June 2010, Lieutenant General Philip M. Breedlove said that the term "next-generation bomber" was dead and that the air force was working on a long-range strike "family" that would draw on the capabilities of systems like the F-35 and F-22 to help a more affordable and versatile bomber complete its missions.[2] On 13 September 2010, Air Force Secretary Michael Donley said that long range strike would continue cautiously with proven technologies and that the plan to be submitted with the 2012 budget could call for either a missile or an aircraft.[3][4] The bomber will be nuclear-capable, but not certified for nuclear use until a later time.

On 24 February 2012, Air Force Secretary Michael Donley announced that a competition was underway with a target delivery in the mid-2020s.[5]20s.[5]

"It's all in your head." You've heard that before, haven't you? Maybe someone was scoffing at a ghost story or downplaying the symptoms of depression, paranoia or madness. The message is simple: Your obsession, whatever it may be, has no basis outside your thoughts.

Yet with sufficient scientific understanding, it becomes obvious that everything is "all in your head." We don't mean that the world is one great big illusion, but rather that each individual's pool of consciousness and memory exists solely within the electrochemical processes of the brain. Self is a chemical cocktail imbued with a neurological spark, and consciousness is a peculiar parlor trick stirred up by evolution.

That person you think you are? Well, it's the product of a constantly changing equation made up of 95 to 100 billion neurons, along with synapses, neurotransmitters, genetic coding and a string of memories tailing back to the murky depths of childhood [source: Williams]. Alter any factor in this equation just a little, and you change the final sum. In fact, you do a little self tinkering every time you so much as make a simple observation or drink a cup of coffee. Each successive you is at least a slight variant on the previous incarnation. The mind is also subject to the severe alterations of emotional trauma, brain injury and disease, all capable of drastically changing the outcome of the neurological equation.

Our tools for addressing brain conditions have ranged from the sublime to the barbaric. We've treated mental illness on the therapist's couch, as well as with scalpels and electric shock. Fortunately, scientific breakthroughs continue to refine our methods.
For instance, there's neurostimulation, or electrically stimulating nerves to relieve pain or suppress tremors. Doctors accomplish these feats with the aid of tiny neurostimulators implanted near the spinal cord or a major nerve. Deep brain stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation take this concept even further and may effectively manage various psychiatric disorders and neurological diseases. The only catch is they too require painstaking surgery to position implants in the appropriate locations -- in the neck for vagus nerve stimulation and inside the brain for deep brain stimulation.

What if there were a way to stimulate nerves and portions of the human brain without drilling through skulls and implanting electrical devices? What if there were a way to remotely tinker with the neurological equation?

As I told ls612, this is not only possible but could easily be worked into the next phase of development on this front. However, I must admit that Koshling's point proves extremely important. Without his help, this kind of thing could inadvertently be a bit imbalancing for the player. Perhaps, however, the need to overcome this could also play into some strategy improvements for the ai regarding S&D as well so it becomes streamlined into a general ai approach to warfare that by default benefits them where this kind of consideration comes into play.

This would easily be represented by changes planned in phase II of the combat mods. Projected time to development completion: 2-3 months. (Phase I is proving to be a much larger modification than I had originally thought it would be... but it WILL be wicked cool ;) (at least I hope you all think so as much as I do...))

Well they are futuristic dropships/gunships..
Gunships---->VTOL

Added Mech Bodyarmor
Requires Graphene and Nanosatellite Network and Mutispectrum Lasers [to make them]
