Capto Iugulum

Some of us just hate them less secretly than others. ;)

I'm not sure how to judge population. I've just been taking (Manpower x 2.5) x 3000. Which gives Brazil about 32 million pop, which is not very much more than OTL Brazil. That seems incorrect to me considering how immigration has differed. Though using manpower for actual population is probably a shot in the dark.

Guangxi Day Address by King John to the people of Guangxi, from the Royal Palace in Guangzhou, June 30, 1917

Compatriots! Today we celebrate the seventh anniversary of the formation of our Dominion of Guangxi, a grand experiment which was to test the viability of a fusion between two of the world's great cultures, British and Chinese. We stand here as the result of that fusion, and none can say that we have not been successful! Compared to the peasants in the military dictatorship of "China" or the Japanese mainland territories, our people bask in our prosperity, the fruits of our labors! But we will not become complacent! Our British friends have taught us that competition and evolution is the way of the world, and so we must not succumb to the stagnation which plagued our ancestors for centuries, and led to the fragmentation of a nation. We must move forward! To this end, I am announcing the enactment of two grand projects! The first will create a universal language for our people: from this point onward English will be taught along with any regional dialects in our schools, which will both unite our people with one language and give them the advantage of knowing the language of the world's greatest power and the nations of North America. The second will be a grand source of pride for our people and a new center from which our nation will be governed; in the village now known as Shenzhen we will build a new capital and port, to be called Xinjing. This will be our land's first truly modern city, and will be the envy of all Asia, if not the world!

For the Dominion, and the Empire!

OOC: EQ has told me that our total population is three times manpower x3k, but I don't know if he calculates for the two civilian parts each equal to the MP that has died in battle.
Iggy: Hell of a pretty map!

At this time I have not calculated for civilians who die in battle. As yet, it has not been a significant consideration in most places, though I suspect America will break that mold, and the arrival of real bombers will as well.

Colonial manpower is not added into the total. Nor does it represent the total population of a region, even moreso than standard manpower. It represents the total population of the colony which is actually trustworthy enough to be allowed the use of guns and service in their motherland's army.

OOC: So is that just the people of the same ethnicity and culture or including the few natives who love the colonial power? Would cultural projects (or stealing educating their babies in boarding schools) increase manpower in colonies?

OOC: The two parts of civilian MP are represented by the per/turn boost, right? It seems to go down for events that impact the number of civilian lives, so I guess when its affected by bombing activity and influenza that's when MP per turn will go down (as seen with the influenza)?

Colonial manpower is handled on a case by case basis.

Also, colonial manpower is only useful if you want to recruit armies of ingrates who mutiny against you for providing them with food, arms, a career and an opportunity to serve their country.

Difference is, that you didn't spend EP and MP on recruiting soldiers out of Egypt, only for them to mutiny three years later. You lost New Spain to a glorious rebellion of the people. :p

I wasn't even oppressing the mutineers - I was letting them stomp on the other Egyptians and stuff :(

OOC: Btw shouldn't manpower per turn also grow for nations that have been gaining absolute manpower for a while? Some old world European and Asian nations have over x100 their per turn MP.

@Blue Bacon: No.

Oh, this is the 48 hour warning to get those orders in.

Dammit, I did it again, it's Thursday, not Friday. Apologies, 48 hours is correct.

The Revolutionary Institute of Revolutionary Facts has determined that the only thing worse than ungrateful colonial soldiers who do not appreciate the gift that national service is are traitorous plutocrat wageslave drivers who do not appreciate the glory of the Revolution.
