We recognize Cuba's sovereignty and independence. We would like to send advisors and observers to your constitutional convention, as well establish an embassy in Havana. Welcome to the community of American republics.

OOC: Wow, Okay I didn't think that would work...

To: Opsikion
From: Bulgaria

We congratulate you on throwing of the reins of Imperial Rome and looking to protect the people of your land not fight a loosing battle to preserve a dead empire.

To: The Remains of the Roman Empire
From: Bulgaria
CC: Opsikion

Bulgaria and Opsikion wish for independence while Rome struggles to try to preserve our unity. While our little argument goes on the Great War causes the death of countless. We would approach you with a compromise to end this if you would hear us.

We would advise you to stop attacking our fortified positions situated on the highground with reserves of artillery festooned with machine guns and strewn with enough barbed wire to make a telegraph call center, but we're too busy enjoying killing all those who want to test our defenses first hand.

@TerrisH: What else were they supposed to do? You ordered an attack. They either were to go forward or not do anything at all. The best chance they had was to push forward and break through, ambush or not.

I don't normally do this, but /thread.

We hereby recognize the independence of Opsikion (and Bulgaria) from the clearly incapable "Roman" regime in Athens. Unless the Imperator can prove that he is able and capable to reign peacefully over the former Roman Empire, we can only recognize the sovereignty of the newly independent provinces.
Although this doesn't really matter, on a similar token we recognize Cuban independence.

How do you enjoy watching your army (literally) go up in flames?

OOC: can somebody post the play-by-play of the Battle of the North Sea for us poor unfortunates without AIM?

OOC: I
overall strategy is to bleed them as heavily as we can while minimizing our own losses.
and
Generals have leeway to change the plans as needed, including scrapping all I said if they really don't think it will work.
which is pretty much the opposite of what happened. generals went for the brute force solution instead and just went attack attack attack. after they had 2 years to think up a viable solution to the problem. hence me calling them idiots. not disputing what they did though. still about par with them, and I can work with the situation, after I kill the general behind the plan and replace him with somebody with some common sence.

The naval conflicts as told over AIM:

Spoiler :
Session Start (Crezth:!aol://): Thu May 17 18:12:03 2012 -0400
EQandcivfanatic: oh, and fill in Crezth too
Spryllino: well
Crezth: allo
Luckymoose: britain and brazil win
Spryllino: basically, this is the sea battle in the north atlantic and whatnot
Luckymoose: is that all?
Crezth: okay, cool
Spryllino: and we are dealing with the initial engagement
Zeletdude: Well first stage was british channel and French fleets -
Spryllino:

EQandcivfanatic 11:04 pm
now the first battle is a small skirmish as these things consider, as the British ships in the Channel hastily make an escape

they immediately engage with the French, who according to Scandinavian orders, moved to intercept
Spryllino Spryllino 11:04 pm
no spanish here yet?
EQandcivfanatic 11:05 pm
nope

too early, the Spanish are still mobilizing the fleet and assembling it

the British have 14 Trovão-class Destroyers, 7 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 10 Summit-class Battleships, 2 Olympus-class Battleships
EQandcivfanatic 11:06 pm
The French fleet mustered is 15 Early Destroyers, 8 Early Light Cruisers, 2 Early Heavy Cruisers, 9 Java-class Battleships, 1 Conquistador-class Battleship
Zeletdude: the British have 14 Trovão-class Destroyers, 7 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 10 Summit-class Battleships, 2 Olympus-class Battleships
Zeletdude: or do that
Crezth: mm
EQandcivfanatic: not "the sea battle" "Multiple sea battles it looks like"
Luckymoose: well that skirmish is a win, I can tell :p
Spryllino: and basically we just have to hold on long enough for the Dutch to turn up in order to pen you up in port
Zeletdude: [16:06] EQandcivfanatic: so the battle has to be fought in the hopes of corralling half of the Royal Navy in unfavorable waters
[16:08] EQandcivfanatic: If the battle is a success, half of the British navy will be completely neutralized from further actions, or at least penned in the Channel
[16:08] EQandcivfanatic: all the French have to do is delay
Spryllino: or you have to defeat us
Spryllino: which strikes me as more likely
Spryllino: seeing as my admirals are pretty near atrocious
Luckymoose: you're lucky Admiral Buzatto isn't here
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Crezth: mm
EQandcivfanatic: all right, well the fate has been decided
Zeletdude: do tell us:P
EQandcivfanatic: as it turns out, the British fleet was not alone, and as the French sought to close the western end of the Channel, coal pillars were seen to the west; and it was beleived that the Spanish fleet had arrived
EQandcivfanatic: unfortunately, it was another British task force, and suddenly the French were the ones in a trap
Crezth: they weren't actually steaming up to join the battle
Crezth: they were about to miss afternoon tea
Crezth: :O
EQandcivfanatic: at this point the French admiral lost his nerve and ordered a retreat, which soon turned into chaos
Luckymoose: never seen a frog into open waters, I always say
Luckymoose: send*
EQandcivfanatic: the British wrecked havoc among the French warships, sinking 6 capital ships, for a loss of only one battleship of their own
Zeletdude: Dang
Spryllino: oh, that's pretty disastrous
Crezth: and all over afternoon tea :<
Luckymoose: never deny a brit his tea
Zeletdude: :P
EQandcivfanatic: indeed, several biscuits were soiled from the waves sent up by missed shells
Crezth: hahaha
Justo: maybe the French missed their morning cheese?
Justo: could be why they were in such a hurry to return to port
EQandcivfanatic: the remaining French fleet pulled back as the British amassed their ships in the Irish Sea
EQandcivfanatic: exact casualties will have to wait for the update, but that's Battle #1
Justo: and that is the first victory of many
EQandcivfanatic: oh, and if you're interested in date, that took place in May
Justo: for the Allies
Luckymoose: they missed their cheese and had nothing to go with their whine
EQandcivfanatic: or June, let me check that
EQandcivfanatic: late May
Spryllino: did they sink the conquistador? :-(
EQandcivfanatic: yes
Luckymoose: 60 EP
Luckymoose: delicious waste
Luckymoose: :3
Zeletdude: :(
Crezth: wait till you guys see the secret weapon ;)
Spryllino: I hope this whole campaign isn't going to be equally disastrous
Spryllino: and eq's already told us about it :-(
Zeletdude: your battlecruisers :P?
Crezth: oh
Crezth: well
Crezth: yeah
Justo: aye
Crezth: *me kicks a pebble and mutters*
Justo: Paris will ablaze by christmas
Spryllino: I rather doubt it
Spryllino: unless you actually did order an invasion of France
Justo: every allies country
Justo: allied*
Justo: sent troops for such an invasion
Luckymoose: 905 brigades
Spryllino: totally
Crezth: that wouldn't even be enough lol
Crezth: doesn't franco-burgundy have like
Crezth: super soldiers
Crezth: after my own heart, those frenchmen *sniff*
Spryllino: I don't think you even have 905 brigades that aren't tied up in Europe already though, do you?
EQandcivfanatic: in Early June, after assisting in the hunting down of remaining Continental fleets in the Caribbean, the British expedition to Colombia has returned and regrouped with the main Brtiish fleet
Spryllino: was that what popped up behind me?
EQandcivfanatic: heh
EQandcivfanatic: yes
Luckymoose: also brazilians and argentines
EQandcivfanatic: nope
Luckymoose: but we joined them
EQandcivfanatic: they're still drinking mixed drinks on the beaches
Crezth: gasp
Luckymoose: in cidade livre
Crezth: the plot thickens
Luckymoose: well at least we're drunk
EQandcivfanatic: with little umbrellas
Spryllino: but the question is, what's in the drinks?
Crezth: WHO WAS DRINKS
Luckymoose: the brazilian fleet is like a michael keaton movie :(
Crezth: I really am curious what happened to them.
EQandcivfanatic: heh, yeah, that's a good story
EQandcivfanatic: but on to the next big battle
Crezth: maybe the USA backstabbed us :ooo
Luckymoose: we had 15+ capital ships
Luckymoose: well
Luckymoose: if they did your fleet wouldn't have left the caribbean
EQandcivfanatic: the combined Scandinavian and Danish fleet began shelling random British towns and communities along the coast
Luckymoose: obviously we're drunk
EQandcivfanatic: culminating in a devastating strike on Scapa Flow, ruining the local port facilities
Zeletdude: finally something good ish
Spryllino: oho
Crezth: zut alor
EQandcivfanatic: but no British warships were present
Luckymoose: you guys ever been to Sardinia?
Luckymoose: :3
Nuke: ITS LOVELY

Justo: im gonna add Nailix
EQandcivfanatic: if you can go for it
Justo: wont let me
Justo: :p
EQandcivfanatic: in fact, if someone doesn't mind updating Circuit and Nailix, that'd be good
EQandcivfanatic: gives me more time to actually do this
Justo: i can do it
Justo: if you can try add him that'd be good
Luckymoose: hmm maybe the Spaniards tried to take me on solo in the atlantic?
Luckymoose: if so that would be hilariously dumb of them
Zeletdude: lol
EQandcivfanatic: all right
EQandcivfanatic: Scapa Flow
Spryllino: no, they wanted to
Crezth: that'd be really interesting
Spryllino: but I didn't let them
Luckymoose: TEST YOUR MIGHT
EQandcivfanatic: as it turns out, the British plan anticipated an attack in that area and closed a net upon the Scandinavia/Danish fleet, having established a point to stand firm
EQandcivfanatic: so, the majority of the British navy would clash in battle against them
Crezth: PokeBall, go!
Spryllino: where have the dutch got to?
EQandcivfanatic: oh yes, the Dutch are here too
EQandcivfanatic: sorry, should have mentioned that
Zeletdude: ok
EQandcivfanatic: whelp, here's the forces currently in play
EQandcivfanatic: for the Brits we have 25 Trovão-class Destroyers, 12 Early Light Cruisers, 10 Early Heavy Cruisers, 21 Summit-class Battleships, 5 Olympus-class Battleships
Nuke: And what of Brandenburg?
EQandcivfanatic: The Scandinavians brought along 42 Romanos-class Destroyers, 5 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 13 Christine-class Battleships
Nuke: what have theysent?
EQandcivfanatic: a fishing boat
EQandcivfanatic: with a slingshot
Nuke: Bahahah!
Crezth: 42? mama mia
Nuke: The HMS Liberty
EQandcivfanatic: the Dutch brought
EQandcivfanatic: 31 Early Destroyers, 9 Numancia-class Destroyers, 13 Early Light Cruisers, 7 Early Heavy Cruisers, 13 Eendracht-class Heavy Cruisers, 13 Java-class Battleships, 3 Conquistador-class Battleships
EQandcivfanatic: and the Danes brought
EQandcivfanatic: 19 Early Destroyers, 6 Numancia-class Destroyers, 8 Early Light Cruisers, 3 Early Heavy Cruisers, 3 Eendracht-class Heavy Cruisers, 6 Java-class Battleships, 1 Conquistador-class Battleship
Zeletdude: i like these odds better ;P
Spryllino: this looks slightly more promising
Crezth: hm
Spryllino: if we lose here, I have little faith in any of our navies
EQandcivfanatic: the British admiral has the advantage of picking the fight
EQandcivfanatic: and having prepared the plan well in advance
Spryllino: is that a big advantage?
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Zeletdude: :P o h no
EQandcivfanatic: and the advantage of the Continentals is otherwise clear to see
EQandcivfanatic: but the Brits have to fight here or lose all control of their waters and coasts
Luckymoose: ancient destroyers vs trovao
Spryllino: is there any geographical feature around?
Luckymoose: trovao can go 1 vs 3
Luckymoose: :3
Spryllino: The Scandinavians brought along 42 Romanos-class Destroyers
Zeletdude: :p
Luckymoose: slow
Luckymoose: much slower
Luckymoose: heavy ships
Nuke: Notenough to go against the Trovao
Spryllino: is there any geographical feature around to affect the battle?
Crezth: lots
Crezth: and lots
Crezth: of water
Nuke: No way
Nuke: tell me more
Crezth: yes way
Luckymoose: besides scapa flow and the super hard waters?
EQandcivfanatic: the batle is between the two islands north of Scotland
Luckymoose: your navies would botch on the rocks
Crezth: in fact, the entire battle is occurring on water
EQandcivfanatic: names slipping my mind
Zeletdude: Shetlands
Zeletdude: ?
Nuke: GET THE f*ck OUT Crezth
Spryllino: orkney and shetland?
Nuke: STOP YOUR LYING
EQandcivfanatic: that's it
Spryllino: so they don't actually have a geographical advantage over us?
Crezth: alright, I cast meteo on their fleet
Luckymoose: no they do
Crezth: just like I did on rome
Zeletdude: this will be an interesting battle ;D
EQandcivfanatic: and for the amusement sake, the British sent out a message over the the wireless
Luckymoose: it is called waters you don't know about
Crezth: does geography include a study of water features? that seems like a bit of a misnomer to me
EQandcivfanatic: to both Britain and the enemy fleet: "They shall not pass"
Nuke: What did my fleet send?
Luckymoose: and then Gandalf the Red gray and Blue
EQandcivfanatic: was thinking Robert Nivelle myself
Luckymoose: good cheat in victoria
Luckymoose: btw
Zeletdude: Indeed
Spryllino: well, this was the naval battle that we were looking for in Elves' plan
Spryllino: but it's a pity it's on Britain's terms
Luckymoose: the pity is that Brazil and USA have yet to arrive
EQandcivfanatic: indeed
Luckymoose: but when we do
EQandcivfanatic: Argentina and Peru too
Luckymoose: you'll long be out of ammo
Luckymoose: and you'll be like nerds in a football lockerroom
Luckymoose: as we corner you and throw you in lockers
EQandcivfanatic: all right the Continentals have 36 assorted capital ships, and the Brits have 26
Luckymoose: no queens of the sea here?
EQandcivfanatic: no lionesses have been built yet
Zeletdude: I like that name :P
Spryllino: I don't know why you think that Trovao is faster than Romanos
Spryllino: it isn't
Luckymoose: it is
Justo: you'll be hearing and seeing a lot of them
Justo: ;-)
Luckymoose: you have more armaments to weigh you down
Zeletdude: :P
Spryllino: no it isn't, they both have 3 engines
EQandcivfanatic: indeed but it's not an engines=speed thing
Spryllino: oh
EQandcivfanatic: engines get weighed down with more armor and attachments
Spryllino: so, eq, are romanoses considerably slower?
Luckymoose: trovao are screens, not tanks
Crezth: it's alright, lucky, cool it
Crezth: let's see how this pans out
Luckymoose: not uncool
EQandcivfanatic: indeed, if not for lucky, I would have already told you the battle results
Zeletdude: ;o
Zeletdude: tell us now :P
Spryllino: how did lucky stop you? :-P
Luckymoose: we're the same person
Crezth: EQckymoose
EQandcivfanatic: the battle has been fought, the British admiral is dead, and the fleet utterly destroyed, only one of the Olympus battleships escaped of the British capital vessels
Spryllino: yayayay
Spryllino: victory!!!
Spryllino: :-D
Crezth: bummer
Zeletdude: Continental Causalities?
Nuke: ....
Luckymoose: counting chickens, spry
Nuke: what happened to my fleet?
EQandcivfanatic: but they went down swinging, taking down 19 Continental battleships, and nearly 70 assorted other vessels
Nuke: did my Admiral escape?
EQandcivfanatic: no
EQandcivfanatic: he died too
Nuke: D:
Zeletdude: the local fisher?
Zeletdude: :P
Nuke: Can I write a story about it?
EQandcivfanatic: he got run over by a battleship
Luckymoose: lol
Crezth: twice
Zeletdude: A dutch one right
Luckymoose: the olympus that escaped
Luckymoose: ran him over
EQandcivfanatic: lol
Luckymoose: for being a loser
Crezth: lol
Zeletdude: "pick me up please!"
Nuke: DL
Nuke: D:
EQandcivfanatic: in all fairness, he was in the way
Luckymoose: a british warship does not change path for one man
EQandcivfanatic: techically it was 5
Luckymoose: brazilian warships change paths to hit one man
EQandcivfanatic: the admiral, the cook, and 3 able seaman
Luckymoose: that is a lot of seamen for two guys
Spryllino: so we lost 19 battleships, and 6 in the channel
Crezth: a bum psssh
Spryllino: whereas you lost 25 ships and 1 in the channel
Zeletdude: 26 vs 24
Crezth: oh sh*t you're right
Crezth: I surrender
Crezth: here are my terms:
Crezth: britain cedes itself to france
Spryllino: sorry Crezth
Luckymoose: haha
Crezth: joking, tool :P
Spryllino: I have enough stability problems with the Swiss
Spryllino: :-P
Luckymoose: you lost 24
Luckymoose: 24 that I don't have to kill now
Crezth: also you can't f*cking add
Crezth: Spryllino: so we lost 19 battleships, and 6 in the channel
EQandcivfanatic: indeed, the Spanish and French navies are still there
Crezth: 19 + 6 = 25
Luckymoose: 25
Spryllino: so are the Spanish going to turn up, EQ?
Luckymoose: they attacked me I bet
EQandcivfanatic: Spain's fleet hasn't been touched except for a battleship and other vessels sunk by the Brazilians
EQandcivfanatic: in the Med
Zeletdude: yeah were are dem Spaniards >_<
Luckymoose: betrayal
EQandcivfanatic: well first I have to put in all the casualties into the stats and update
Luckymoose: milarqui was smart enough to stay in harbor
Spryllino: hold on, is Milarqui not coming north then?
Crezth: ah he probably did try to stop lucky
Crezth: eenteresting
Luckymoose: he will find himself one hell of a battle
Zeletdude: that bastard
Zeletdude: :p
Luckymoose: and the americans will show up eventually
Luckymoose: how many waves can your alliance withstand?
Luckymoose: :3
Spryllino: so is there another seabattle going to happen this year?
EQandcivfanatic: yes
EQandcivfanatic: definitely
EQandcivfanatic: the British have some fancy new ships
EQandcivfanatic: and still 8 battleships in play
Spryllino: and are the spanish there this time?
Luckymoose: the QUEEN cometh
Nuke: Posted my story
Zeletdude: Of the continental's causalities how many were dutch :p
EQandcivfanatic: and the Americans heroically arrive in October
Spryllino: and where are those 8 battleships coming from?
Crezth: magic
EQandcivfanatic: followed in the same month by the Brazilian fleet
Luckymoose: which has just defeated Spain's empire?
Luckymoose: woo
Crezth: Iberia is now a massive smoking crater
EQandcivfanatic: don't be absurd
Crezth: aka nothing changed
Crezth: *trollface*
Nuke: (Link: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showp...cs.com/showpost.php?p=11505230&postcount=1170
EQandcivfanatic: if Iberia became a crater, the place will fill with water
Luckymoose: the brazilians will show up when snakes smoke
Crezth: ah you're right, how silly of me
Spryllino: so have the spanish turned up, eq?
EQandcivfanatic: so summary, yes, one more major naval battle is coming
EQandcivfanatic: no holds barred, with the great fleets of both sides assembled, as the Scandinavians lead an attempt to force a blocakde on Britain in the wake of their victory at Scapa Flow
Spryllino: I hope the Spaniards are here
Zeletdude: I hope so too >_<
EQandcivfanatic: The Allies have to engage, or risk Britain being cut off economically
EQandcivfanatic: the Spaniards are going to be there
Spryllino: yay
Nuke: anyone like my story :3
Luckymoose: is the Emperor mad about my antics in the Med?
Zeletdude: i laughed
Spryllino: are the americans and brazilians already here?
EQandcivfanatic: they've been in the Channel hunting down invisible British ships under Scandinavian orders
Spryllino: or is this immediately after the other battle?
Luckymoose: haha
EQandcivfanatic: this is not immediately
Luckymoose: this is months later
Luckymoose: october
EQandcivfanatic: the Continentals had to go back for reparis
EQandcivfanatic: as did what was left of the British fleet frm the battle
Zeletdude: So the americans and Brazilians are there?
Luckymoose: yeah baby
EQandcivfanatic: not just them, Argentines too
Zeletdude: ok cool, shall be more interesting that way
Luckymoose: and peru
EQandcivfanatic: Peru hasn't made it
Crezth: and GOD
Zeletdude: No hes on our side
EQandcivfanatic: they're stilll halfway across the Atlantic
Luckymoose: well I reject the pope and declare anti pope
Crezth: snort
Crezth: England was rejecting the pope before it was cool
Zeletdude: :P
Spryllino: what's Peru doing sailing across the atlantic?
Luckymoose: we remain catholic and do it
Spryllino: they're loopy
Luckymoose: Peru has battleships silly
Zeletdude: its Double a afterall
Luckymoose: ever heard of teamwork?
Luckymoose: oh waity
Spryllino: that's true, I suppose
Crezth: this update
Crezth: is going to be so awesome
Spryllino: that it is
Luckymoose: Admiral Buzatto
Luckymoose: trolls the Spanish
Luckymoose: time honored Brazilian tactic
Zeletdude: :p

Spoiler :
Spryllino: so if we win this battle
Spryllino: does that reopen the south atlantic too?
Luckymoose: muwahaha no
Crezth: you'll have to find out
Crezth: by going there unarmed and blindfolded
Luckymoose: we set the south atlantic on fire
Luckymoose: there is no ocean
Crezth: ahgahahah
Luckymoose: or have you forgotten I can summon asteroids
Crezth: uh that was *me* bro
Luckymoose: we? what the f*ck do you mean 'we'?
Luckymoose: ;)
Crezth: I can't get over how perfect the big lebowski is for britain-brazilian relations
Crezth: and the usa is definitely donny
Nuke: who's Brandenburg? D:
Crezth: maybe brandenburg is donny
Luckymoose: more likely
Luckymoose: big battle he has a heart attack
Crezth: and the usa is the ultra feminist chick
Luckymoose: she wants britain's baby and no further contact?
Luckymoose: sounds about right
Crezth: yup
Crezth: oh yeah this is a group chat about the naval war
Crezth: how's that goin'
EQandcivfanatic: all right, just finished updating casualties and prepping the last major battle
EQandcivfanatic: the Battle of the Irish Sea
EQandcivfanatic: at this point, it'd be acceptable for some dialog between the Triple Alliance fellows, which I will do for them
EQandcivfanatic: spryllino: And what of the Allied fleet massing near Ireland?
EQandcivfanatic: Zeletdude: They are of no concern, soon the Allies will be crushed and Brandenburg will be part of us.
EQandcivfanatic: 3 EQ points to name the reference
EQandcivfanatic: anyways
Crezth: star f*cks
Crezth: I mean wars
EQandcivfanatic: 3 EQ points to Crezth
Crezth: vader and palpatine, right?
EQandcivfanatic: yep
Crezth: yippee
Luckymoose: well the rebel alliance is a fitting name for a coalition of American nations
Crezth: haha
Crezth: your friends, down there in the irish sea,
Crezth: are sailing right into a TRAP
EQandcivfanatic: all right, with the arrival of the Portuguese and Spanish navies and the completion of repairs upon the damaged ships (though some were unable to participate due to the nature of extensvie damages), the Scandinavian admiral in charge chose to commit to a major fleet engagement, trapping the Allies there
Crezth: oh, and I'm sure the spanish reinforcements will be quite operational
Crezth: when your friends arrive
Crezth: muahahaha
Crezth: -the dutch
EQandcivfanatic: lol
EQandcivfanatic: this is the truly big one folks
EQandcivfanatic: let's see what everyone is bringing to the table
EQandcivfanatic: Britain: 13 Trovão-class Destroyers, 4 Early Light Cruisers, 3 Early Heavy Cruisers, 8 Summit-class Battleships, 5 Lioness-class Battlecruisers, 3 Olympus-class Battleships
United States: 21 Early Destroyers, 10 Zygmunt-class Destroyers, 15 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 3 Ziemowit-class Heavy Cruisers, 10 Virginia-class Battleships, 2 Olympus-class Battleships

Netherlands: 11 Early Destroyers, 6 Numancia-class Destroyers, 7 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 10 Eendracht-class Heavy Cruisers, 5 Java-class Battleships, 2 Conquistador-class Battleships

EQandcivfanatic: oh, and 4 Conquistadors for Spain too
Luckymoose: wowie
Spryllino: so that's 7 lionesses
Spryllino: 8 olympuses
Spryllino: 18 old battleships on your side
Spryllino: 6 conquistadors
Luckymoose: your math is wrong
Spryllino: 35 old battleships on our side
Luckymoose: 26 on our side
Luckymoose: not 18
Spryllino: counting very much mentally
EQandcivfanatic: now as before British plans have prepared for such an axis of advance into the Irish Sea
Spryllino: how?
Spryllino: how did they know this would happen? :-(
Luckymoose: we plan things
Zeletdude: Im guessing they just planned several scenarios
Luckymoose: you don't understand my TRAP card
EQandcivfanatic: I'm looking at a map right now of a green arrow coming into the Irish Sea
Luckymoose: (Link: http://www.myfacewhen.net/uploads/1...et/uploads/116-you-activated-my-trap-card.jpg
Crezth: Crezth decided not to have a social life last weekend and instead opted for reading a dusty tome on 19-20th century naval strategy and four essays to the same effect
Crezth: ^_^;
Spryllino: aha
Luckymoose: luckymoose is just natrually gifted
Zeletdude: lol
Spryllino: well, I just acknowledged my deficit in naval strategy and my absence of a decent library and told Elves to do it
Spryllino: :-\
Luckymoose: and he tried
Crezth: yeah, I heard about that from EQ
Crezth: and LoE is a dastardly clever SoB so I'm worried :(
Crezth: well
Luckymoose: but thanks to him you missed out at scapa flow
Crezth: my worries have been vindicated
Crezth: re: scapa flow
EQandcivfanatic: indeed, and the battle is joined, with the Spanish taking the center of the line for the Continentals
EQandcivfanatic: and the British and Brazilians taking the center for the Allies
Luckymoose: now shell them with gas cannisters!
Spryllino: woo pitched battle
EQandcivfanatic: no, fortunately the British admiral is smarter than to use ammunition that's useless if it misses
Luckymoose: all ammo is useless if you miss
Luckymoose: :p
Spryllino: any luck and they can't make too much use of the extra mobility
Luckymoose: this is the ocean
EQandcivfanatic: yeah, but at least a hit of HE on the side of a warship does more than a cannister of gas would
Luckymoose: true
Luckymoose: we'll gas them in the water!
EQandcivfanatic: it's true, due to the nature of the battle, the mobility of the older Allied destroyers is fairly nullified
Justo: and land
EQandcivfanatic: until the pursuit/retreat
Luckymoose: hear our lions roar
EQandcivfanatic: now, this time includig heavies and battlecruisers, there are 54 Allied capital ships
EQandcivfanatic: and there are 80 Continental ones
EQandcivfanatic: in quality the captial ships average out to about equal
Spryllino: go continentals!
Zeletdude: ^
Crezth: go arries!
EQandcivfanatic: and it's indecisive!

Spoiler :
Luckymoose: 54 vs 80 and it is still even
Luckymoose: says something about your navies bros
Zeletdude: you have those new lioness :(
EQandcivfanatic: after a solid 7 hours in daylight hammering away at each other, dusk falls, with no side running
Nuke: If you're having ship problems I feel bad for you son
Nuke: I've got 54 ships and there ain't a defective one
Crezth: *sunglasses*
Spryllino: and casualties?
EQandcivfanatic: in the darkness, the fight turns into a chaotic melee, as the fleets grow intermingled
EQandcivfanatic: no telling yet
Luckymoose: brazilians will draw their swords and board the enemy ships!
EQandcivfanatic: thoroughout the night, the various admirals attempt to retain control, and the chaos of the battle stretches throughout the sea as some ships are disabled or otherwise escape into the atlantic
EQandcivfanatic: come the dawn, the fight is still raging at a subdued status, the Spanish and Scandinavian admirals are dead
EQandcivfanatic: the Dutch commander is now in charge of the fleet
Zeletdude: Thank god. :P
Nuke: the f*ck
Nuke: who let the f*cking Dutch run this sh*t?
Zeletdude: 13 naval quality ftw
Zeletdude: ;)
Crezth: the dutch are the finest seamen in europe
Crezth: frankly, they're better off
Luckymoose: glad I invested in dutch seeking missiles
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Zeletdude: HAHAH
Spryllino: well, you seem to have hit every commander except the Dutch one
Zeletdude: please survive :(
Spryllino: so they clearly don't work :-P
EQandcivfanatic: by noon, the battle was clearly over, as a number of burning hulks slowly sunk to the bottom
Luckymoose: or do they
Luckymoose: every dutchman looks the same to the missiles
EQandcivfanatic: the Dutch admiral ordered a withdrawal, with the Continental fleet wrecked
Luckymoose: they are racist
Spryllino: and the Allied fleet? how is that?
Justo: awesome follow up invasion of France gtw
Justo: ftw*
EQandcivfanatic: the Allied fleet sustain substantial damage of its own, there's not a single ship involved that doesn't need repair on either side
Luckymoose: what did I say to the Franco-Burgundian diplomat?
Spryllino: so who has the bigger fleet when the dust settles?
Luckymoose: that every french sailor would drown in the atlantic?
Luckymoose: mmm
EQandcivfanatic: in size, the fleets are now equal
EQandcivfanatic: at least, until the arrival of the Peruvian expedition in Liverpool on Christmas Day
Justo: and in typical
Justo: Peruvian style
Justo: they switch sides
Zeletdude: twice
Zeletdude: :p
Justo: and invade Liverpool
Justo: ;-)
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Luckymoose: and don't forget Admiral Buzatto heroically sailing the European lake
EQandcivfanatic: as for victory, that's hard to say
EQandcivfanatic: both sides have sustained massive damage
Luckymoose: lesson learned
Crezth: well I expected crushing defeat
Justo: as long as Spain loses
Justo: we win
Luckymoose: pay reparations SPAIN
Crezth: so I'm quite happy ^^;;
Nuke: I think Brandenburg had the lightest casualties of the naval war :D
Spryllino: losses in battlecruisers to their side?
Zeletdude: :P
Nuke: Hey ZD
EQandcivfanatic: still figuring out the exact sunk
Luckymoose: battlecruisers never die
Zeletdude: Yes nuke
Nuke: my Naval Quality's only 1
Luckymoose: they are reborn in flames
Nuke: your's is 13
Nuke: I only lose ONE FISHING BOAT
Nuke: :P
EQandcivfanatic: actually you have no naval quality
Nuke: you lose hundreds of ships
Nuke: oh
Nuke: wow
Zeletdude: its hard to lose ships whn you dont have a navy
Nuke: way to look like a b*tch in front of your own allies
Luckymoose: we'll probably all get boosts out of this anyway
Nuke: I have an admiral brosepg
Nuke: *broseph
Luckymoose: this is the first real test of modern doctrine
Luckymoose: and battleships
Nuke: And we stomped ya
EQandcivfanatic: now here's the UK's sustained losses for the here:
EQandcivfanatic: United Kingdom of Great Britain: 29 Trovão-class Destroyers, 17 Early Light Cruisers, 15 Early Heavy Cruisers, 26 Summit-class Battleships, 5 Olympus-class Battleships
EQandcivfanatic: oh, and two lionesses
Zeletdude: Is this all together?
EQandcivfanatic: yes
EQandcivfanatic: all three battles
Crezth: only 2 lionesseS?
Crezth: oh thank god
Luckymoose: how many did you build
Crezth: 5
Luckymoose: 5?
Luckymoose: alright chaps
Luckymoose: good war
Luckymoose: pay the reparations
Crezth: lol
Zeletdude: :p
Luckymoose: did my admiral draw his pistols, stand on the bow of his ship and shoot continental sailors in the water while screaming "I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD"?
EQandcivfanatic: United States of America: 17 Early Destroyers, 5 Zygmunt-class Destroyers, 8 Early Light Cruisers, 4 Early Heavy Cruisers, 2 Ziemowit-class Heavy Cruisers, 6 Virginia-class Battleships
Nuke: And Denmark?
Nuke: What of Denmark?
Nuke: I want every Danish sailor at the bottom of the Atlantic
Nuke: and hopefully not just the sailors
Justo: Denmark itself was sunk
Nuke: My invasion was succesful? :D
Zeletdude: No you failed sinking a nation once
Luckymoose: it curled up in on itself like a micropenis
Nuke: We don't know that
Nuke: I WILL SINK A NATION
Nuke: That'll be in the treaty ZD
Zeletdude: :p
Nuke: I will demand to destroy your dikes
Nuke: and then to plow your dykes
Nuke: well
Luckymoose: we can just excavate the netherlands
Nuke: those dykes will be destroyed too
EQandcivfanatic: Argentina: 5 Trovão-class Destroyers, 4 Zygmunt-class Destroyers, 1 Early Light Cruiser, 1 Early Heavy Cruiser, 1Resiliência-class Battleship
Luckymoose: so it is below sealevel everywhere
EQandcivfanatic: Brazil: 9 Trovão-class Destroyers, 2 Zygmunt-class Destroyers, 6 Early Light Cruisers, 4 Early Heavy Cruisers, 3 Resiliência-class battleships, 1 Olympus-class Battleship
Luckymoose: not bad
EQandcivfanatic: Scandinavia: 29 Romanos-class Destroyers, 4 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 9 Christine-class Battleships
EQandcivfanatic: Netherlands: 27 Early Destroyers, 6 Numancia-class Destroyers, 8 Early Light Cruisers, 5 Early Heavy Cruisers, 8 Eendracht-class Heavy Cruisers, 8 Java-class Battleships, 2 Conquistador-class Battleships
Zeletdude: ah well
EQandcivfanatic: Franco-Burgundian Confederation: 12 Early Destroyers, 7 Early Light Cruisers, 2 Early Heavy Cruisers, 7 Java-class Battleships, 1 Conquistador-class Battleships
Justo: lolfrance
Spryllino: that leaves me with two battleships remaining...
Zeletdude: I have 6 at least :(
Zeletdude: ;p
Justo: irrelevant
Luckymoose: welcome to the big leagues
Justo: without Paris
Luckymoose: you deny me my reparations
Luckymoose: and now you have NOTHING
Crezth: except
Crezth: a huge powerful ground army
Zeletdude: :P
Luckymoose: they can't swim this far
Luckymoose: I'm fine
EQandcivfanatic: Denmark: 16 Early Destroyers, 4 Numancia-class Destroyers, 5 Early Light Cruisers, 2 Early Heavy Cruisers, 5 Java-class Battleships, 1 Conquistador-class Battleship
Crezth: now I'm just imagining franco-burgundians swimming across the channel
Crezth: to invade
EQandcivfanatic: they coudl always build a bridge
EQandcivfanatic: or dig a tunnel
Crezth: you mean
Crezth: A BRIDGE TO BRITAIN
Luckymoose: a bridge too far
Luckymoose: that's no island kingdom
Luckymoose: that's a battleship
EQandcivfanatic: Portugal: 8 Early Destroyers, 2 Dragoa-class Destroyers, 3 Early Light Cruisers, 3 Joao-class Heavy Cruisers
Luckymoose: hahah
Luckymoose: portugal
Luckymoose: *clicks the annex button*
EQandcivfanatic: actually their Joaos performed fairly well
EQandcivfanatic: and finally, we have Spin
EQandcivfanatic: Spain*
EQandcivfanatic: Spain: 15 Early Destroyers, 8 Numancia-class Destroyers, 8 Early Light Cruisers, 6 Early Heavy Cruisers, 11 Hercules-class Battleships, 2 Conquistador-class Battleships
Zeletdude: not bad.
EQandcivfanatic: they were the ones who took the brunt of the Lioness' wrath
Luckymoose: they roam in packs
Zeletdude: they still have 9 battleships and 2 conquistadors
Luckymoose: and pick on the weak
Justo: even the Arab Navy
Justo: can defeat that
Luckymoose: the paraguayan navy
Luckymoose: which is no joke
Spryllino: well, I think the Continentals sort of won overall?
Spryllino: I think I can call a partial victory on that
Justo: how so?
Luckymoose: until you see the rest of the war
Justo: you failed to inflict your blockade
Spryllino: yeah, I know we screwed up the rest
EQandcivfanatic: or maybe, until YOU see the rest of the war lucky
Zeletdude: its like the battle of jutland kinda
Spryllino: anyway
Spryllino: did the submarines achieve anything, eq?
EQandcivfanatic: no, too far out of range for any purpose
EQandcivfanatic: the only theater where subs have had any effect is in the Black Sea
Zeletdude: loe was intent on using them *roll eyes*
Zeletdude: :p
Spryllino: oh well
Justo: they didn't just randomly sink
Justo: which is a win for them ;-)
Spryllino: lucky I told elves to build destroyers rather than subs :-D
Luckymoose: hey man I didn
Luckymoose: did pretty well
Luckymoose: overall
Luckymoose: fortress south america will never yield
EQandcivfanatic: but yes, once I'm done updating the actual nation stats, I'll be done with the Great War except for Stability/Quality changes
Crezth: woo
EQandcivfanatic: still on the menu for the night: all of the technology/design trading going on
Spryllino: woo indeed
Zeletdude: :P
EQandcivfanatic: and a number of other non-war related events
EQandcivfanatic: including one more surprise betrayal of someone in this chat room
Luckymoose: gasp

Spoiler :
Luckymoose: probably justo
Justo: its always Justo
Spryllino: a surprise betrayal by or of someone in this chatroom?
Luckymoose: omani soldiers taking dubai
Luckymoose: lol
EQandcivfanatic: of someone in this chatroom
EQandcivfanatic: heh, lucky, that almost happened
Luckymoose: I hope nuke was betrayed
Luckymoose: that would make me laugh
Justo: lol
Spryllino: me too
Justo: probably Austria
Zeletdude: lol
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Luckymoose: if someone betrayed me
EQandcivfanatic: never will get it
Spryllino: nah, not Austria
Spryllino: no chance of that
Luckymoose: I have a buffer
Luckymoose: the indians betrayed Crezth
Crezth: oh
Crezth: brandenburg
Crezth: It was you, wasn't it? :P
Spryllino: well, I don't know how he could betray you
EQandcivfanatic: the betrayer isn't in this room, but the betrayed certainly is
Crezth: ahhh
Spryllino: when we're invading them
Justo: yea
Justo: so
Justo: it could be anything
EQandcivfanatic: and I will add that it's not a direct stab in the back
Zeletdude: one person leave and well ask eq then
Justo: like one of thoe filthy French neutrals joining
Justo: or Pommerania
EQandcivfanatic: it's a player, not an NPC
Crezth: could be grorious Japonesu
Justo: nah
Luckymoose: colonel mustard
Luckymoose: with the lamp
Crezth: hm
Zeletdude: in the library
EQandcivfanatic: but which room?
Justo: wrong room
Justo: the kitchen
Luckymoose: always the kitchen
Justo: aye
EQandcivfanatic: the betrayal is indirect and is a bit along the "WTH" lines
Nuke: Well
Nuke: I did invade Poland
Nuke: so that's indirectly against the UK
Spryllino: sardinia maybe?
Nuke: The Poles never saw it coming :D
Zeletdude: no milarqui isnt really here?
Luckymoose: that would be WTH
Spryllino: I suppose not
Luckymoose: lol it could be milarqui
Luckymoose: betraying france
Zeletdude: That's definitely along the WTH lies
Spryllino: Milarqui just lost half a dozen ships carrying out our naval plan
Zeletdude: lines*
Spryllino: new spain invaded the mayans?
Justo: the betrayed
EQandcivfanatic: good guess, that answer would definitely fit the parameters of the statement
Justo: is in this convo though
Spryllino: well, that would betray Britain and Brazil in some ways
Luckymoose: argentina invaded brazil?
Luckymoose: nah
Luckymoose: thedright is a boss
EQandcivfanatic: indeed, that's a good argument by spry
Spryllino: Serbia invaded Hungary?
EQandcivfanatic: yeah, theDright's pretty awesome
Justo: eh
Nuke: theDright is my favorite new neser
Luckymoose: best ally I've had in a while
Justo: will just have to wait and see
Crezth: theDright kicks ass
Luckymoose: Crezth betrays me all the time
Luckymoose: so he probably betrayed me
EQandcivfanatic: been really impressed with his orders
Luckymoose: again
Crezth: no, luckymoose
EQandcivfanatic: no, that'd be too obvious
Crezth: I'm spineless remember
Nuke: I think he sends me the most in depth orders of all
Luckymoose: spineless brits
Nuke: EQ
Crezth: oh so spineless
Nuke: when is the update
EQandcivfanatic: Crezth only likes to kick you while you're down
Zeletdude: :P
EQandcivfanatic: well, taking a quick break to eat a delicious dinner, and then back to it full swing
EQandcivfanatic: I do love me spaghetti
Zeletdude: Im not going to school tomorrow i will stay up all night for it xD
EQandcivfanatic: oh, and for those interested
EQandcivfanatic: 14,000 words
EQandcivfanatic: 24 pages
Luckymoose: jeez
Zeletdude: WOW :D
Justo: good god
Luckymoose: 24 pages of Brazil winning
Zeletdude: losing*
Luckymoose: all I do is win
EQandcivfanatic: as much as I hate to say it, as his ego certainly doesn't need a boost, lucky's right, though the Battle of the Irish Sea is debatable on who actually won
Justo: hahaha
Zeletdude: It was like the Battle of Jutland, but I'm still pretty satisfied with the naval battle :P
Zeletdude: it could have bee nworse
Spryllino: could have been a lot worse
Spryllino: at least both our fleets are destroyed
Spryllino: rather than just ours
Luckymoose: not mine
Luckymoose: :3
Spryllino: and the Spanish fleet is even half intact
Zeletdude: mine is still sort of there..
Zeletdude: :P
Spryllino: your fleet's half smashed lucky
Justo: the Spanish will take losses elsewhere
Zeletdude: and the Dutch admiral finally got to lead. damn Scandinavians :p
Luckymoose: half is a strong word
Spryllino: the big naval battle happened in november
Luckymoose: I lost a couple old battleships
Spryllino: so naval losses were already counted
Luckymoose: and some cheap destroyers
EQandcivfanatic: I'll also point out that Scandinavia only committed half of its fleet to the battles
EQandcivfanatic: though admittedly, it was the good half
Nuke: well
Zeletdude: Good
Nuke: even though I lost alot of my navy
Luckymoose: plus I kept a sizable allied fleet in the south atlantic
Nuke: mine will be the cheapest to rebuild
EQandcivfanatic: we also have the entire Jap navy still out there
Nuke: And the leadership of the fleet is now in question
Luckymoose: and my fleet in the Adriatic
Crezth: ready to brutalize some tasty dutch colonies
Nuke: EQ
Nuke: will you include my casualties in the naval section
Nuke: please?
Luckymoose: you lose everything
EQandcivfanatic: no
Zeletdude: They are ready to make taking them as bloody as possible! :p
Crezth: Brandenburg: Berlin, -all EP
Luckymoose: haha
Nuke: f*ck you Crezth
Nuke: just for that
Nuke: I'm making my own alliance
Nuke: With b*tches
Nuke: and such
Luckymoose: well
Nuke: like
Nuke: ummm
Nuke: f*ck
Luckymoose: all the blackjack and hookers are in brazil
Crezth: don't be like that donny
Nuke: who else is there
Crezth: I mean brandenburg
Nuke: So abusive D:
Crezth: lol
Luckymoose: I swear to god there better be eggs when I get home
Luckymoose: and the towels, Brandenburg, the towels better be folded
Luckymoose: *shakes fist*
Spryllino: does the battle reopen the south atlantic, eq?
Spryllino: to intrepid commerical shipping?
Luckymoose: hahaha no
EQandcivfanatic: no, the Brazilians have a fleet there
EQandcivfanatic: totally independent of the battle
Luckymoose: with lionesses and battleships
Luckymoose: :3
Spryllino: oh
Spryllino: ok
EQandcivfanatic: and tearing up 50% of any ships foolish enough to try to sail it
Zeletdude: Did my east indies fleet survive ;p
EQandcivfanatic: actually, yes, it did
Zeletdude: excellent.. ;)
EQandcivfanatic: your east indies fleet actually did some raiding damage to the Japs
Zeletdude: excellent
EQandcivfanatic: who are going nuts trying to find it
Zeletdude: triple excellent
Spryllino: lol
Spryllino: what about the Poles?
Spryllino: did Elves get rid of them?
EQandcivfanatic: nope
EQandcivfanatic: Baltic's quiet
Spryllino: oh ok
EQandcivfanatic: though the Poles do have a bunch of fancy new ships
Spryllino: lionesses?
Luckymoose: yummy
Luckymoose: the lion sits on his throne as the lionesses hunt
Nuke: and Brandenburg decides to abandon Hanover
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Nuke: to conquer territory
Nuke: because f*ck Hanover
Spryllino: are the new polish ships lionesses, eq?
Nuke: f*cking musiclord....
EQandcivfanatic: I don't think so
Zeletdude: lol nuke
EQandcivfanatic: so, Diablo III, anyone been trying it out?
Luckymoose: I should tell Quisani to burn the coffee and sugar plantations in Indonesia
Zeletdude: Its hard to do when he isnt there
Zeletdude: ;p
Luckymoose: nah, eq, I'm a hipster who played 800 hours of D2 and will not touch D3
EQandcivfanatic: oh, and if anyone from the NES tells me anything about the plot of Diablo, I will invoke the Constantinople Event again, spread the word
Luckymoose: instead waiting for torchlight 2
Zeletdude: someone tell him, i want it to hit london or berlin
Zeletdude: :p
Luckymoose: I don't know the plot of d3
EQandcivfanatic: good
Zeletdude: me either
Luckymoose: heard it ruins canon though
Luckymoose: :p
EQandcivfanatic: I never liked the original two anyways
EQandcivfanatic: boring
Luckymoose: hopeless
Luckymoose: all diablo requires multiplayer to truly shine
Luckymoose: and d2 is the greatest ARPG multiplayer ever created
EQandcivfanatic: from what i hear it's about the same thing as diablo 3 multiplayer
EQandcivfanatic: except diablo 3 is easier to use
Luckymoose: it isn't similar
Crezth: Torchlight 2 looks amazing
Crezth: I may get that
Luckymoose: it is the original diablo team
Luckymoose: so obviously
Luckymoose: :p
Crezth: mainly because I'm not in a 60-bux-spending mood >_>
Crezth: and torchlight 2 is just 20 bux
Spryllino: goodnight everyone
Luckymoose: glad I bought guyanas
Crezth: cheers
Luckymoose: when I did
Zeletdude: Goodnight
Justo: your lucky
*** Spryllino has left the conversation.
Luckymoose: also glad I sank the dutch cruise liner
Justo: new games here are like $90
Luckymoose: :p
Zeletdude: it was you ;o? :P
Justo: what was who?
Luckymoose: why would I not sink it?
Nuke: I actually sank it
Nuke: GERMAN BROTHERHOOD 4 LYFE
Zeletdude: with what
Luckymoose: I remember stealing the swedish fleet with brandenburg mercenaries
Luckymoose: once
Zeletdude: your fishing boats
EQandcivfanatic: well I got diablo 3 for free
EQandcivfanatic: I wouldn't have paid for it otherwise
Zeletdude: lucky did you actually do it :P im curious,
Justo: lucky you
Luckymoose: no zelet
Luckymoose: it was milarqui
Zeletdude: it was probably an engine problem like the Maine.
Luckymoose: or milarqui
Zeletdude: or yeah
Luckymoose: he had it out for me
Justo: indeed
Justo: his ships were well in position
Justo: to look like the good guy
Luckymoose: When I watched the Spanish fleet burn off Ireland
Luckymoose: it felt like justice, zelet
Luckymoose: justice for the netherlands
Justo: and after the Netherlands had justice
Zeletdude: well if he did do that its almost as evil as trying to destroy the dutch dikes and killing thousands of innocent people ;P
Zeletdude: Lol
Zeletdude: XD
Justo: he sunk your ships to
Justo: except
Justo: we'll openly admit it
Justo: ;-)
Zeletdude: :P
Luckymoose: the most interesting theater is Danish Oranjien
Luckymoose: I invaded the hell out of that place
EQandcivfanatic: it really isn't
Zeletdude: Really? LOL
Justo: you mean
Justo: Brazilian Oranjien
EQandcivfanatic: actually
EQandcivfanatic: Argentine Oranjien
Justo: hahaha
EQandcivfanatic: the Argentinans sent way more troops
EQandcivfanatic: therefore they got it
Zeletdude: HA
Justo: the lolz
Luckymoose: still my plan
Luckymoose: should be my color
Luckymoose: :(
EQandcivfanatic: nah
Luckymoose: he shall burn for this
Luckymoose: TREASON
Justo: there's the betrayal
Justo: all troops
Justo: return to base
Justo: march South West
Luckymoose: we sent way more troops than the danes had
Luckymoose: by a lot
Luckymoose: it was a horrible waste of resources
Luckymoose: lol
EQandcivfanatic: eh, combat experience
Luckymoose: we sent more artillery than they had brigades
Luckymoose: I think
EQandcivfanatic: yeah
EQandcivfanatic: you did
Justo: most of them
EQandcivfanatic: but they did kill a bunch of Dutch and Spaniards too
Justo: die to disease
Justo: ;-)
EQandcivfanatic: not this time Justo
Zeletdude: how would they kill dutch
Luckymoose: it isn't the jungle
Zeletdude: lol
EQandcivfanatic: well remember Kabinde?
Luckymoose: this is good old zulu hunting land
Zeletdude: aw
EQandcivfanatic: pretty much everything south of Scandinavia is a nice red color now
EQandcivfanatic: or the light blue of Argentina
Luckymoose: Michael Caine in Danes
Luckymoose: THE SAVAGES
Zeletdude: what about Kenya ;(?
Justo: destroyed
Justo: by the Empire
Luckymoose: we killed everyone in africa
EQandcivfanatic: all right, jsut a mere 25-30 articles left to go
Justo: excellent
EQandcivfanatic: all right, looking like I can confidently place an ETA on 4-5 hours from once i return from dinner
EQandcivfanatic: so, if you're EST, let's say around 2 AM
Justo: 2-3 PM AEST
Justo: excellent
Luckymoose: I won't read it tonight
Zeletdude: Midnight here;D
Justo: i can rest up
Justo: before the update
Justo: :p
EQandcivfanatic: got to break for a little bit, been doing the Great War for almost 12 hours
EQandcivfanatic: and that's just today
Justo: the men on the frontlines
Justo: dont get breaks
Justo: :p
Zeletdude: :p
EQandcivfanatic: heh
Luckymoose: yes they do
Luckymoose: christmas and any other bank holiday
Justo: it aint christmas
EQandcivfanatic: all right, well I'm loggign for a big to scavenge some food
Justo: aight
*** Luckymoose has left the conversation.
EQandcivfanatic: maybe rob a homeless person
Zeletdude: Bye1
Justo: ttyl
Zeletdude: :P ahhaa
*** EQandcivfanatic has left the conversation.
Zeletdude: GOODBYE enemies ;p
*** Zeletdude has left the conversation.
Justo: victory will be all the more sweeter now
*** Justo has left the conversation.
*** Nuke has left the conversation.

Skip everything except where I talk  Brandenburg will rebuild!

Oh man that is the greatest thing.
...my Javas. :( Nice to know that there was a good fight in the North sea, though. It was crazy dramatic. I think this Great War is getting off to a good start.

To: The Italian Republic
From: Naples
CC: The United States

Naples obviously should be the lead nation in the unification, we are pleased there are other Italian nations that see there should be a unified Italy. So we agree with the United States, would the Italian Republic be will to unify with Naples?

---

To: The World
From: The Papal States

The Holy See notes that its assumptions and its reasons for engaging with Naples, have been vindicated by recent Neapolitan statements. For Naples now clearly states its true and malicious intent to unify Italy under its physical domination in a single state. Its lies to the contrary when challenged on this by us are thus now revealed for the deceptions they are, and Naples govermnet is shown for its true nature, as a deceptive serpent that will not shirk from decieving the entire international community.

In light of this, the Holy See expresses its hope the states of the world will see Naples for what it is and firmly oppose its express intentions now clearly revealed to all and be more forthcoming in support to the cause of the Holy See and its allies.

On this note we would also like to condemn the British and their allies for intervening in this war on the side of Naples by providing it with the latest technology. Regardless of the fact that this partisan interference shows precisely where Naples allegiances lie, it also shows that Britain and its allies show no regard for the sovereignty of states, and are perfectly happy to destabilise the Italian region if it suits their interests.

~ Pope Leo XIV

To: the United Kingdom and its allies
From: The Holy See

The Holy See expresses its grave concerns as to the situation in Ireland, in particularly due to the sectarian nature of this problem. The Holy See in light of this civil unrest and as an act of charity offers to serve as a moderator in the dispute in order to restore the peace in Britain and ensure that the Irish peoples legitimate concerns are met. We do this out of concern for the good of men, and as such we ignore recent actions taken by Britain against papal interests in offering our assistance in restoring peace.

That said, we must strongly note that Britains continued support of the Neapolitan state is intolerable, and that its alliances blatant support in granting it technological assistance shows clear hostility towards the papal states. We would request that Brittain and its allies refrain from giving any future support to Naples or to any other state that would seek to end the sovereign rights of the papal states and its allies, which it should rightly support in the conflict against the scourge of italian nationalism.

~ Pope Leo XIV

OOC: It seems that economic warfare in the North Atlantic hasn't really taken off... so is the lack of transatlantic migration due more to fears of more major naval engagements or something like that?

it also shows that Britain and its allies show no regard for the sovereignty of states, and are perfectly happy to destabilise the Italian region

AHA! The Pope must be considering the entire Italian Region a state, or else simply aiding a state within the region (a state, mind you, not a faction like in the Colombian civil war) wouldn't violate his precious "sovereignty of states", which, if I remember correctly, also include the freedom of speech.

However, he also denounces the actions of the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Naples, despite their goal of realizing this unity (sovereign unity for the Italians, political unity for Naples). The only other contender to head a "sovereign state" able to preach to the entire peninsula is none other than the pope himself.

Every web of lies has a weak point. I have found one.

from The Italian Republic

To the Italian People
My brothers, my sisters, my children and elderly. It has been so long since all Italians were addressed as equals, as people worthy of being addresses. For how long have the Italians been separated? For how long we have been occupied by outsiders? For how long we have been occupied by absolute kings who wish only to increase their own private wealth and power? For how long we were ruled by those we do not want to be ruled by?

Now the time has come. For freedom and justice to all. A new Republic has been formed, a beacon of freedom to all the Italians who wish to be free. Not a nation ruled by an absolute monarch, who only declared support for the unification of Italy to save his own skin, and rule more lands for himself. Not for the king of the south who would fire the horrendous weapons of mustard gas on his own Italian brethren of the Papal States! Yes! Even those fighting for the Pope deserve freedom and life. We all heard they do not want to fight against unity, we all know they tried to leave the Papal armies, only to be quelled by Austrians and Neapolitan mustard gas.

I am not here to real absolutely over all Italians. I did not abdicate the throne to leave it to another king to rule us and take our freedom and lands, I abdicated the throne to be one of the many, to become an Italian, a freedom loving Italian, who has no interest in taking the freedom from others.

Yes, those who prey on our freedom are strong, far stronger than we would like them to be. They can bring their vast armies and crash us, perhaps like bugs. But, that is only what they think. All of Europe will invade Italy if it had the time to take our freedom and force us to bow down to their kings. The Austrian have only brought a small force of the vast army they control.

Yet we are not as weak as some may think. We have love in our hearts, we have strength no nation on the world could claim. We will fight the oppression of Italians in any way we see necessarily. We will not surrender, we will not buckle down to oppression, we will fight for our freedom and our Republic will survive! We will unite all of Italy and bring all men the freedom to choose his path! No longer pawns of kings and theocrats, but free people, with voting rights, with economic rights. All Italians under one roof, a roof that they will choose themselves.

Join me my brethren! For today is the dawn of freedom! The dawn of the Italian Republic!

to the Papal States:
My father, my most holy of fathers. Forever we will follow your spiritual words and guidance for you are the connection between mere humans and the lord. Yet while you are our spiritual guide the Italian people have spoken, in matters of earthly business we wish to rule ourselves. Even your soldiers have rebelled against you, for they do not wish to be ruled under theocracy no more. They do not wish to be separated from other Italian by fake borders of kings and theocrats. Yes, The Neapolitan king is nothing more than a weak man who wish to rule Italians for his own good. He wish to become the absolute dictator of all Italy, but we will not allow him, for we no longer wish to be ruled by kings, but by ourselves with freedom and liberty to all.

Pope Leo XIV! You can excommunicate me. You can excommunicate my government, my people. But you will have to excommunicate each and every freedom loving Italian, and what will that give you? In the end we will triumph and gain our freedom, and you will be remembered as a cruel oppressor, who would choose his own wealth and power before his own Italian citizens. It does not have to be that way. Naples wish to conquer the Papal States and put King Ferdinand II as the sole owner and ruler of Italy. We do not. We wish to allow the people of Italy to say what ruler they want to lead them every election. I wish to discuss with you further on the idea that rather than fighting the wishes of your own population, you will declare support for their cause of liberty and allow the Italian Republic to take its rightful place as the bringers of freedom to Italy.

to Milan:
King Giovanni II, your own population aided us in our invasion of your kingdom. It is simple to understand, that your own people wish to join the Italian Republic. How cruel can you be as a king to oppose the wishes of your freedom loving population and continue oppressing your people? Surrender to the Republic and I will promise you will remain safe and will continue to hold to your royal palace. The people of Italy will not take your life, they only wish to take back their own private freedoms.

to Naples:
King Ferdinand II. The absolute ruler of southern Italy. We do not wish for your rule, for the Italians are more the capable of ruling themselves. Abdicate from your throne, and allow your people to have the freedoms and liberties the Italian Republic gives all of its people.

to the world:
Today a new era begins for Italy. Not that of kings who support Italian nationalism to gain more land and wealth, but that of Italian freedom and liberty. The Italian republic will give freedoms to all people under its rule, that we promise. We wish to hear the world comply to our wishes, we do not want to go to war with anyone, we only wish to rule ourselves in peace. Support the Italian people as the only rightful owners of Italy.

OOC: Ohhhh I'm going to get squished ^^
