Capto Iugulum

OOC: Oh I'm sorry if you felt it's personal :) I wish I could have said it IC without getting my nation raped by Brazilians and British :p. I meant it totally about the game characters. I just cannot say it IC :p

OOC: Then make that clear. It hurts my feelings when people conflate IC and OOC like that. :(

Then write it as an internal memo or something, you goof.

OOC: Then make that clear. It hurts my feelings when people conflate IC and OOC like that. :(
I'm sorry then, never intended. It's my Italy's response, without responding. I have to steam out :p. Kind of like me saying I can't stand the pope beating the rear of more Italians with his funny hat in the league's forum :)

But you do have to admit that for powers the caliber of the UK and Brazil, that is kind of... pathetic ;)

This is about par to me saying, "Man this guy's NES is awesome." ;)

You can take my pride, but you can never take away my hypocrisy!

But seriously, it's good to point out when OOC tags are being misused, as it can turn earnest frustration into personal attacks.

Though we have the greatest respect for the honor of your great nation, and hope for nothing but happy relations between our countries until the end of time, we cannot help but be disturbed by the way in which you enable a second-rate power such as Brazil (this coming from a nation even more minor in power) to act so maniacally, as they attempt to turn what most nations would only see as cause for minor reparations into a chance to at the very least ransack Sardinia.

We propose, therefore, that should Sardinia accept a full invitation to the League, we will work together with them to make sure no such incident happens again, and in turn ask that you work with Brazil to see if they can reach demands that have closer connection to reality.

Please note that we are acting independently of our capacity as Chairman of the League, and are merely making this request nation to nation.

Ample time has been given, and your hesitance, and complete disinterest in preserving peace in the Italian Peninsula leaves the combined military's of Austria and Brandenburg little choice but to commit to a police action to see that the very fair and reasonable Freidman proposal goes through. You are the only belligerent nation that has refused to give up ground on the matter of Italian Unification, and as such, will experience the prowess of the combined German military. We have informed our policing units to see to it that the proposal go through, and they will assuredly do just that. Should our policing units enter Papal Territory, and find themselves under attack from Partisans, or official Papal forces, they have been given express permission to use any means necessary in protecting themselves, and completing their mission.

At the same time, if our policing units are to enter into Papal Territory, and find an army or government willing to work with us in seeing that fair and honest plebiscites go through, and help administrate said plebiscites, we all may rest easy knowing that blood wasn't unnecessarily spilled. There is no time that is to be viewed as 'too late' for peace. We would much prefer this alternative a thousand times over, yet your silence has been defeaning on the matter, and we are forced to assume. To reiterate, our previous offers for peace without German soldiers still stands, the only difference between then and now is simply time.

We would also like to invite military units from both the Italian Republic and Naples to operate in support of our soldiers, should the need arise. Soldiers from respective governments will be kept in separate theaters of operation, to prevent any possible flare ups that may occur.

Also, we would like to note that as of now, we consider the waters of the Papal States to be blockaded, and the German fleet will treat the area as a war zone.

That is all.

OOC: As has been pointed out to me, Jehoshua hasn't been on the forums for awhile, and I am aware parts of the East Coast have been getting hit with storms fairly bad, so my apologies if that is the cause of the delay. I'm just rushing to figure out what to do with my orders. As I said IC, there is not time that is 'too late'.

As much is occurring in this region, we will send one note that will address all matters.

First, we support the German action, and should the Pope raise complaint for an infringement of the sovereignty of the Papal States, we will clarify for the Pope that His cries are falling on deaf ears. Few care for the sovereignty of the Papal States. We recommend the Pope accept the Vatican as his new earthly dominion.

Second, we fully support military action against Sardinia, to the extent that the United States would be willing to send ships in assistance. Their claims that they did not start a war, when they blockaded the Brazilian fleet first, then assisted the Spanish against the Brazilians, insults the intelligence of the Allied diplomatic corps. However, [500 EP] is excessive, and we feel that the amount to be paid should be far less.

We would like to state there is still no cease fire between Naples and the Papal States, however we have cease fires with both Sardinia and the Italian Republic. We intend to continue our war with the Pope this year if he does not agree to the Friedman Proposal. A warning is sent to those who wish to attempt to enter the Papal States as they will probably respond to you with hostility, instead allow us to finish this war with them without risking your own lives. The war should end soon enough.

Consider this the 12 hour warning.

We understand Britain's position, and reiterate that we are agreeing to pay reparations to Brazil for damages. However, when Brazil sends conflicting messages on their position and you back them, it makes it difficult for any agreement to be reached. We are more than willing to agree to reasonable demands on this matter.

On another note, we wish to point out that the Treaty of Madrid and other agreements designed by the Allies can in no way be construed to cover this conflict. Per the Treaty of Tuileries, the Allies had considered Sardinia a part of the Great War, and thus this conflict, as a continuation of that, cannot be considered part of any "Italian conflict".

To: Naples, the Italian Republic
From: Sardinia

With the Friedman proposal taking place next year, we suggest a formalization of the cease fire between Sardinia and each of your states into an actual peace treaty. All we would ask is recognition of Sardinia and Corsica as independent states, separate from any "Italian state" that may arise, as it has been shown is the will of the people of these islands.
