Though we expect Russia to soon be expelled from the League upon their rejection of our ultimatum, we hope that in the future that host nations to not attempt to politicize the Olympics, which are meant to be a celebration of athletics and an opportunity for the world to take a break from political intrigue.

You are aware that this is a blanket ban on league nations, even those that don't support genocide, including your own nation?

From: The United Kingdom

We extend to Occitania our hand of friendship and a desire to renew our mutual defense agreement.

We are flattered by your interest though we had initially considered to only seek out Spain for a guarantee of independence. Our ambassadors will be in contact and we thank you for your attention.

The host nation is the host nation because of political intrigue. Our actions are for the betterment of the games as a peaceful event for all the world's nations to compete in. However, Brazil will not tolerate genocidal regimes or their political puppets. We cannot on good faith allow criminals to walk our streets, to compete against free men and women as if they had done no wrong to this world.

This ban will be retracted upon Russia's expulsion though, correct?

We had figured our alliance during the Great War and our continued partnership in the following years a proper enough guarantor of future cooperation, but we are sad to note that we are mistaken.

To: The United Kingdom
From: Occitania

Unfortunately, the Great War was a major disaster for Occitania. We've lost a substantial portion of our population and prosperity for the allies in the cause of liberty and though the reperations have helped us heal faster we have become exhausted. We are grateful that our survival was negotiated, and are painfully aware of those who did worse despite the best efforts by your honorable country and that of the United States. However it remains that many of those who sacrificed were set back a decade while others gained vast tracts of land.
But the fact remains, Occitania looks up to the United Kingdom and we will indeed be modeling our constitution on yours. So please take heart and know that your actions have had positive ramifications in our hearts and we will always remember the good that you have done.

For now Occitania shall rest in splendid peace, whether or not Spain is willing to guarantee us.
- King Louis III

OOC: This type of roleplay is too addictive. I've sent in some extra long-term orders to EQandcivfanatic in case no one takes Occitania. Thank you all for letting me try this out with you and I'm sorry it didn't last longer. :)

Spain wishes to announce that it is officially guaranteeing Occitania's independence, and will take action against any hostile move against the nation.

We were not challenging Bulgaria's independence. We were merely pointing out that if the Roman Empire was unable to recognise a nation's independence, their own independence was questionable. Thus, if they truly believe that they are independent, then Turkey must be as well.

We tried to do something during the Great War. That was why we were fighting it. The fact that we did not succeed is immaterial. Might does not make right, something you would do well to learn.

We would also like to note that at no point, ever, has Pontus or Chaldea ever been independent. You are a mere rebellion that has been only been recognised by the Kurds. No state has ever treated you as one. Turkey is a formerly independent state that was annexed and is now regaining independence. They have far more right to nationhood than you do.

What right do we have? Only the right of freethinking, independent, noble nations seeking justice for a legitimate government. What right did you have to purchase Turkey? Are you an independent state? No. You are a rebellion from Rome. You have no business trying to take jurisdiction of an area that has more right to independence than you do.

To: Spain
From: The Pontic Republic

Oh, so now the treaty from the Athens government recognizing our independence no longer exists, does it?
Turkish land rightfully belongs to us via an internationally recognized treaty, and the Turkish rebels occupying it are even less of an independent state than the Republic is, if we go by Spain's screwed up definition.
And if a fair and just Republic, guaranteeing equal rights to all its people, that is about to hold its first elections is not a more freethinking, independent nation than a monarchist imperialist nation which does not, I am not quite sure what your definition of that is.
We ask that you please stop challenging facts.

Also, the flag of our new Republic (I know it's a piece of crap, but ah well):

This is the 24 hour warning to get those orders in.

Emperor Harald II is confirming the signing of the Brazzaville Accords.

To: Pontic Republic
From: Roman Empire

We thank you for seeing reason and we wish you luck in your ongoing conflict.

The following pronouncements are by King Leopold IV of Flanders, Chairman of the League of Continental Nations, on behalf of the League:

With the year coming to a close (OOC: the 24 hour warning), the General Session of the League has ended, with the following Resolutions having been passed:

The League has passed Resolution 005, the Resolution Against Russian Actions, wherin:

Russia is expelled from the League.

The League has also passed Resolutions 006 and 007, the Resolutions on the Scandinavian Crisis, wherein;

006: Both Scandinavian factions should be suspended from the League at least for the moment, the Workers' Commonwealth because it is currently illegitimate, and the Empire because it is not in Continental Europe.

007: The League should express its condemnation of any intervention made by any nation in Scandinavia or its colonies by any member or non-member of the League without a resolution from the League backing it up.

Bulgaria is also hereby extended an invitation to the League, and the Roman Empire is reminded of its pending invitation.

Russia is expelled from the league. Oh, brava. Now you will need to find other pretenses to support their murder and aggression.

Nah yo we're good. Free Indochina!

While we agree with your stance on Russia, blocking nations from the Olympics sets a bad precedent. The International Olympic Committee may never nominate Brazil to host an Olympic event again should your threats hold. We urge you to reconsider your decision.
