Brandenburg applauds Brazil's hardline stance against those who would be complacent in genocide

To: Brazil, World
From: United States of America

If a nation were to be banned from participating in the Olympic Games, we believe that should be the decision of the International Olympic Committee, not the host nation.

We strongly disapprove of the genocide committed by the Russians, and find the deafness of the retiring Brazilian ambassador quite astounding on the matter.

Also, cease and desist from referring to our country as Franco-Burgundy.

So long as Franco-Burgundy is allied to the Russian Empire it can only mean that Paris supports genocide.

TO: USA
FROM: Brazil

We aren't banning athletes, we're allowing Russian athletes to come through a third nation. Russian government officials are banned from entering the Brazilian nation.

So long as Franco-Burgundy is allied to the Russian Empire it can only mean that Paris supports genocide.

To say this demonstrates complete failure to perceive in accordance with reality. We could understand that this sort of infantile logic would make sense if we had not denounced the genocide in question, but given that we have clearly stated our disgust at the Prussian genocide, the fact that we have not as a consequence lost our heads and thrown the cause of continental peace to the winds does not by any means illustrate a support of the Russian government's actions, which we have at no point approved or condoned in word or deed. We have not punished Russia by withdrawing our alliance - as is in our power to do - but neither have we rewarded or otherwise encouraged the Russians for their actions, and, accordingly, having in no wise whatsoever supported them, to take us to be their supporters in this matter is wilful and disingenuous.

Also, cease and desist from referring to our country as Franco-Burgundy.

To: Brazil, Russia, Franco-Burgundian Confederation
From: Flanders

Pending the judgement of the IOC, Flanders is willing to be the channel through which Russian, Confederate, and other athletes come through. We hope though that this will not be misconstrued as support for genocidal regimes, as we simply wish for the athletes, innocent individuals who have no part in global politics, to be able to practice their art on the field.

Franco-Burgundy is a disgrace. This is the last message from the Brazilian government, please send all apologies for being genocidal warmongering absolutists to the British.

Our affiliation with the Russians might imply approval of Russia if we had not explicitly stated our dissapproval of Russia.

So Franco-Burgundy has absolutely no understanding of the concept of diplomacy. This explains much.

OOC: Now you're just pushing his buttons. Although IMO Franco-Burgundy sounds better than France-Burgundy. And when I'm lazy I just call them France. "Confederate" is five letters too long. ;)

So Franco-Burgundy has absolutely no understanding of the concept of diplomacy. This explains much.

It is quite outrageous to say that every ally, by possessing a defensive agreement with another nation, condones every action of that nation. To say that it is an iron rule of diplomacy that we are to be held responsible for our allies' actions is not, we will say, a betrayal of a failure to understand the concept of diplomacy on your part, but rather a wilful misrepresentation of the concept.

Also, cease and desist from referring to our country as Franco-Burgundy. France-Burgundy is not acceptable either; neither is France.

Your words say quite that you disapprove, but your actions betray an acceptance that no words can hide. For what reason do you choose to maintain an alliance with Russia?

FROM: Japan
TO: New Zealand

We wish to propose a economic agreement. We believe that access to one another's markets is mutually beneficial. We await your word.

To: French Burgundy
From: The United Kingdom

No, but it should go without saying that an alliance indicates mutual cooperation, tolerance, and respect. That you have chosen to align yourself with the Russians places you in their camp - and they in yours - so far as questions of foreign policy go. Your alliance with them, being as it is a promise to aid them in times of war, is in essence a tacit approval of their policies as you have effectively announced to the world that attempts to bring Russia to justice, by any means, will be met by the full brunt of that which the Confederation has to offer. You stand with them in war, and so you stand with them in peace. To think otherwise is folly.

OOC: I would argue that Franco-Burgundy is the only proper way to refer to Spryllino's nation in colloquial speech. The Franco-Burgundian Confederation is needlessly wordy, and Franco-Burgundy is the only way of shortening it without calling the nation something that it isn't (OTL France). "The Confederation" is highly enigmatic and sort of oddly eponymous. I don't actually understand the precedent of not calling it Franco-Burgundy, as its predecessor was always called Paris-Burgundy.

@Circuit, you probably still call us Sweden, too

@Circuit, you probably still call us Sweden, too

OOC: No, I call you Scandinavia. If I'm lazy I'll call you Scandies, if I want to be slightly insulting I'll call you Vikings. I was at one time going to write a communique to Vinlame and Scumdinavia from the United States of Awesomesauce over something upsetting, but thought better of it. :D

OOC: Persia's Orders are in, and I'll be ending my playing of them as of the update, due to a rather big error on my part. Anyone have a puppet government that are an NPC? I'm looking for someone to be subornate to for my next nation. what to try out a new play style.

Bulgaria is also hereby extended an invitation to the League, and the Roman Empire is reminded of its pending invitation.

Bulgaria happily accepts the invitation to join the league.

If the peace process between the Empire of Scandinavia and the Workers Commonwealth of Scandinavia is disrupted, Vinland will be rather displeased.
