CavLancer has died

Sadly, the more time passes, the more people in the forum will depart in that final way too.
The age of the average OT (regular or semi-regular) poster certainly has increased considerably.

I registered at this forum like 20 years ago, when i was 18 or 19 years old only, which makes me one of the most longstanding members i guess. At first it was mostly for downloading civ2 mods and didn't discover off topic and started posting regularly until several years later.

Since then i have been coming and going and have been around occasionally only, but always coming back. It is when reading sad news like this i realize i have been reading and answering some of you guys for nearly half my life and there is some personal feelings when i read some old members have passed away, even if i had nearly not interaction with them.

So, RIP both Cav and Rah, and take care you all guys.

RIP Lance. Sorry to hear.

RIP Lance. My thoughts are with your family during this trying time.

RiP :(

I don't think I have ever talked to Civ Lancer or to Rah. There's this feeling that someone somewhere can play civ, spend time with friends, make family and go though all the other things that people go through. One day that stops. And yet we are here to talk about this somehow... I can only hope that we as humans have created something more than just stack rocks on top of one another or that we can aspire to do more than just that in the future. RiP.

If anyone wants to read (or re-read) his thread about the pizza ovens, I did manage to find the proper thread link and have edited my post above to include it.

I re-read the whole thing (15 pages). what a great thread.

He sure lived his live in a beautiful place.

To be fair, he did his time in some really tough places too. He served in Berlin staring down the Soviets in the 80's. He did earn his paradise. :)

His pizza over construction thread was so awesome.
