Refer to the top of the thread. Sex refers to your chromosomes and which parts you have on your body. Gender refers specifically to how you identify yourself and there is in the western world a false dichotomy in its classification which really irks posters like Traitorfish when it arises.

When I first came on here when I saw a female avatar I assumed they were female, now unless someone explicetly states otherwise I assume they are male.

Incidentally, my username has lead in some cases to a reverse case from aimee's. That is, that people thought I am a woman. Possibly some people still do... I didn't quite like having my sig saying "I am a man", so I wrote it out when a few months had passed.
