Not to mention this went on for days. Where was the governor trying to resolve this concocted traffic jam? Why did he remain silent until it became obvious his own office arranged it?

First off, what an appropriate handle for responding to this thread.I have a hard time believing that first responders don't have ways of determining if traffic is bad on certain roads. Maybe not immediately, but certainly after a few hours, let alone days. Not at all trying to excuse those that are at fault here, but blaming Christie for deaths caused by responders not being able to find alternate routes seems a bit of a stretch to me.
Saint Martyr of Christie said:TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday apologized for highway lane closures apparently ordered by his aides as political retribution, said he had "no knowledge or involvement" in what happened and sought to assure New Jerseyans the actions are not typical of the way his administration does business.

"This is the exception, not the rule," he told a news conference.

You certainly have to blame someone for deliberately endangering the lives of others with such a petty and malicious act.

You know, I was thinking the same thing.
Maybe Mr. TrafficJam is the actual culprit here and should be subpoenaed![]()
Anyways I doubt this is the first instance of him strong-arming dissidents/opponents and strong-arming your enemies is an effective tool often in American politics when looked at in history - as long as you aren't caught.
My bet on Walker is looking better and better.
Also, we should bump the problem thread, we haven't done a big update in a long while.
I know of a few. The best public schools of any major US city are just as good, if not better, than their private ones. I wish more politicians did actually...you tend to place the well being of a major system a little higher if it directly impacts you or people close to you.It. doesn't. matter. Kids are off limits. Besides, I can't think of a single politician at or above a gubernatorial position that sends their children to public schools. I imagine some exist. I can't imagine why they would.
Even if he was personally responsible, I am not sure it would have an effect on his electability. I mean, hell, people get elected to the senate after drunkenly killing women in car crashes.
I have a bigger problem with (MS)NBC's dumbass producers who approve all this stuff. -Wanna talk about pooping in Sarah Palin's mouth? Go ahead, Martin.
-Make fun of the black adopted grandkid? Sure, why not?
-Want to hide a black person's face to pretend he's white so a bunch of privileged jackasses can talk about the crazed white people and their guns? Sounds great! -Doctor the Travon Martin 911 call to make it sound racist? Push the narrative!
-Accuse people of not wanting to help welfare recipients because of racism even though there are actually more white people on welfare than black? Keep stirring the pot!
-Want to ignore all the minority speakers at the RNC in order to instead have a panel of white people talk about how there's no minorities? Yeah we can sign off on that.
-Have a privileged white jackass(O'Donnell) play Torquemada and grill a black man (Herman Cain) about the civil rights movement and the Vietnam war which he didn't fight only because the Navy wanted to use him in another role? GO FOR IT
This is quality journalism here, folks, we could all learn a thing or two. I need to find the fantastic articles Kevin Williamson and Charles Cooke have written about that nuthouse.
It is a super huge deal if you are in any bit familiar with the GW bridge and the morning commute. This literally cost companies untold millions of dollars, not to mention more than one life. That's my thinking. This is a pretty rotten thing to do, but I really think it's something that people who don't live along the east coast will quickly forget about. It's going to get a lot of play because so many major reporters live around NYC. Their local politics always get amplified.
