Circumcision could be compared I suppose to removing the clitorial hood (on females) while leaving the clit intact but not really because the whole outside of the vagina is so sensitive & also the clit can be stimulated from the inside via the g-spot (IIRC they are connected somehow, anywayz, I try to cover all the bases & it seems to work well :D).

That's not how it's laid out.

See how that red band (red for the purposes of the illustration anyway) behind the clitoris goes backwards into the body, I think somehow that nerve is triggered from the inside via the g-spot. I'm not really sure, even "experts" can't seem to agree on the issue.

Oh man, I haven't looked at a detailed scientific picture of a woman's reproductive organs in a while. Thanks, Lucy, my memory has been refreshed.

An anatomical diagram is no less "family-friendly" than the rest of this discussion about circumcision. Kids should know about their bits.

It's a fine line between an anatomical & "sexual" discussion. It's rather a vague boundary & difficult to know when we've crossed it. :undecide:

(x-post)

Fun fact, IIRC, horse's clits are inside their vaginas. Human females just couldn't be that simple of course. :D

If anyone has an alternative explanation for how the g-spot works I'd be curious. Some women claim it doesn't even exist but I've had good results with both internal & external pressure & my ex did clearly orgasm from, um, what's the clinical term for doggy style?, anwayz there was no direct clitoral stimulation in that encounter (think about the logistics, unlike in missionary there is no contact except indirect tugging on it), well at least after the foreplay phase (which ended at least 10-15 minutes before lift-off). I brought this up somewhere & someone said the clit & g-spot were somehow connected. I haven't seen this debunked or confirmed, wiki on the g-spot is pretty sparse.

Fun fact, the Hyena has the biggest clit in the animal kingdom.

I think you just went over that line.

Freely admitting that I have no personal experience and freely admitting that I wasn't there (not that night anyways :mischief:), it's my understanding that women can have vaginal orgasms and clitoral orgasms. Possibly she had a vaginal orgasm Narz?

Many women reportedly cannot find their own g-spot, leading to the view that it doesn't exist. There are plenty of websites out there to help women find it, and men too for that matter, but from what I've read masturbation is perhaps the best way for women to find theirs. Also from what I've read, clitoral orgasms can be distinguished from vaginal ones due to their being much more intense, and possibly more likely to result in ejaculation. It may be however, that only some females can ejaculate. My knowledge on that subject is sparse.

This is true (from discussions with a female friend).

I'm indifferent on the circumcision thing. I have no idea if I would circumsize my own child(ren), and I figure there's no point in worrying about that until I have to. There don't seem to be many significant long-term effects so if the parents want that for their son, then let them be.

Spoiler :
Most of that seems correct. Vaginal and clitoral orgasms are certainly different. I think where the confusion comes in with the clitoris/g-spot thing is that it's often easier to induce a g-spot orgasm when the woman is already very excited - ie lots of clitoral stimulation. Stimulation of both at the same time is pretty intense (in a good great way). You are also correct in that not all women ejaculate. At least not to the point of squirting.

I also agree that masturbation is the best way to find the g-spot. No point in letting someone else fumble around trying to find it; it's much easier for the woman to find it first, then she can direct the guy there.

Indeed, my point though was that I don't know if that's due to simple ignorance on the part of women, such as finding their own g-spot, or whether it's actually a physiological cause. So, while only a few do, I don't know if more can.

That's true of masturbation and the body in general. People should feel relaxed and comfortable in their skin, and they should know what physical sensations they like, and which they don't. If you yourself don't know what you like, how are you going to tell a sexual partner what to do in bed? It saddens me how there are many men and women who don't know about their g-spots and haven't explored them.

Back on topic:

My concern is from the accidents that occur. Since the procedure is done manually, there are occasions where the doctor can slip. What should be done when a doctor cuts off some or all of the head? What about part of the shaft? I've heard of cases where doctors have removed the remainder of the genitals and presented the child to the parents as a female. I've also heard of cases where the parents were complicit in the operation, not telling their child. Could this be a factor in gender dysphoria?

I myself was once with a man who had had too much skin removed. As a result, the skin was so tight on erection that he couldn't masturbate, as it was too painful. He could still derive pleasure from vaginal/anal penetration, but even oral was too unpleasant. I felt sorry for him, as spending an entire life unable to masturbate seems almost a fate worse than death. I also wonder how much it affected his bisexual behaviour, if any.

Do risks like these justify the slightly minor health benefits?
