Join us LIVE on Wednesday, October 19 at 3:30pm ET / 12:30pm PT / 8:30pm BST on twitch.tv/2k as we pit eight of history’s greatest rulers against each other in an entirely AI-controlled game of Civilization VI. Find out who has what it takes to create a civilization to last the test of time!

  • Aztecs
  • Brazil
  • England

Whine!! :(
3-1/2 hours, is that all?! Not only must it be on quick speed, but how could that be more than half a game?
I'll be watching though, I am sure. :)

Well, they didn't show the advanced starts like they wanted to... so maybe that?

Well, if the AI is as bad as everyone says it is, it should be able to defeat itself pretty quickly. :P

This made me spit out my coffee. My desk is a mess, but it missed my keyboard, thankfully. MY OCD is now making me consider why I found it so funny; can't work it out; but thank you anyway.

Can we have a vote know to bet which Civ will win please ?

It's also a really bold move on Firaxis' part. Whatever weaknesses the computer players' behavior (I won't call it 'AI') has will be on full display.

Looks like they're confident about the AI then. Unless this was scripted, but I doubt they have the effort to put into that.

Whether or not this means that AI is actually good, we'll have to wait and see

It will be good to know if the AI can manage each Civ special bonus, the fact that a Civ like Brazil that has a somewhat hard to execute ability (for the AI), like their rainforest adjacency bonus, is in this battle royale is either a proof that they expect them do use it or they just don't care to show how bad the AI is.

Otherwise they would just show a bunch of Rome AI Civs that have straightforward bonuses.

So will they run it until the end, or only for one hour?

They do not say.

Thought I would bump this as lots has happened in the last few days. (preload/release schedule)

Just a friendly reminder that this is tonight :)

This is going to be cool to watch, if i remember correctly Ed was always quite happy and enthusiastic when talking about these ai vs ai testing games that go on all the time on some of their machines at work.

My two predictions for tonight.

If the AI is bad - Loads of threads moaning about stupid things the AI did.
If the AI is good - Loads of threads saying its a fix and was prerecorded with human players.

Anyone who expects AI to play as well as a human is just setting unrealistic expectations. Of course the AI will make silly moves but there are a couple things I would like to see that are fair in my opinion.

1. Trade offers - AI needs to stop accepting crazy unfair deals like paying large amounts of gold for one luxury. This is game breaking.

2. Upgrades - I doubt they would show this if the AI never upgraded units but I would like to see them do a better job managing gold to keep units current.
