Well, since there already is something in place for other optional civs such as Poland, Kongo, Tibet etc., couldn't Polynesia just be added to that list, with the default being that it's not in the game, unless played by a human? Isn't everybody happy that way?

I'd say any new civ at this point should be this way. The amount of completely necessary civs is complete.

It's still a rather arbitrary.
Moors have a lot more impact on the average game than Maya or Phoenicia for example.

Excellent answer Really guise, having a full map is fun, and if no other civ is using that area, a new civ could be added; but in the end this is leo's mod and as open as he is about suggestions, it's he who does the work of coding.

Maybe to avoid having to forcibly represent every single faction, more native cities could be added. They could be the ideal solution to fill up africa and americas before european colonization.

And to piggyback on that suggestion, it would be VERY fun if razing a city yielded a number of slaves proportional to the city population yes, i want to have fun while razing cities
