Civ V Civilizations Roster

Wasn't Stalin confirmed in Danish magazine? Since we talked about him before the French magazine came out.

Quechua is not extinct. Doesn't anyone read the threads any more?

I was NOT referring to that. Since they have Quechua voice actors, it pretty much confirms the Inca. Period. That is the only point of the statement that matters.

Wait, wait, wait, how do we know all this stuff? Could someone give a link please?

EDIT: Quechua is actually spoken by millions of people.

If the Incas are in, i would not count the Aztecs as in.
The image on the firaxis civ5 page could be just artwork.

I think the Aztecs are almost certainly in:

Can't believe they STILL haven't put in an Irish civ.
Then again, they probably want to give the other civs a fighting chance, eh?
We go [pissed]
:D

the irish civilization is simply not that important. and it was part of the UK (and still is in the north) for a long time. why you rebelled, i dont know.

Yeah, and in Civ 2, the Celts started in Ireland on the world map (a nice free city for a good Englishman :))

The Celts in Civ4 didn't represent the Irish, in the same way that Rome didn't represent France. They represented Iron Age continental/southern British Celts. Anyway, the modern Irish are more influenced by English and French culture than the ancient Celts.

Okay, I've thought this through(not really) and I have my guess at a roster:

1. America
2. Germany
3. France
4. England
5. Arabia
6. Aztec
7. China
8. Egypt
9. Mongolia
10. Persia
11. Inca
12. Russia
13. Greek
14. India
15. Japan
16. Rome
17. Viking
18. Ottoman

I want to kick out the Vikings and Aztecs so badly........I'd replace them with Ethiopia and the Maya/Spanish. But personally, I'd kick out England and put in Britain.

^That won't work, because there HAS to be an African civ. They will have to put one in, even if for political correctness. That's why I'm still convinced that the trailer was just a trailer.

Yes, but what other civs have jaguar warriors

EDIT: that Firaxis would add?

Nobody says, that this artwork has something to do with the ingame civs ;).
For example, look at the covers from civ4, warlords and BtS.
We can see the sphinx, a balloon, a biplane, a big bridge, (all vanilla), stone throwing cavemen, 2 different types of helicopters, gaulish warriors (wl) and the sphinx again on the BtS cover. In the BtS intro the washington monument is mentioned and the american civil war.
All this is artwork, and has nothing to do with the game.

Right, the same for me :yup:.

^Exactly. So I'd take EMT's list and replace the Vikings and Ottomans with the Spanish and Zulus (perhaps Malians or Ethiopians?).

Spain absolutely must be in the game. They are too influential to not be. How about Carthage for an African Civ? Also, Egypt is an African Civ, so Africa is already represented at least once.

The Ottoman Empire is an excellent idea, though they are quite similar to Arabia which seems to be a staple.

Let's face it, who doesn't like the Vikings? There's just something about them that people find so interesting.

So, my suggestion is EMT's list, minus Ottomans (too close to Arabia) and plus Spain (too influential to be overlooked).

Also, Maya could take the place of either Inca or Aztec. All three are equally deserving of a spot but unfortunately there isn't room.

I hope Portugal can at least be on expansions ;_;
I love playing some Portugal game and make them dominate like the USA now lol
