[LP] Civilization VI: Leader Pass - Discussion Thread

I played a lot as Kongo last night, and with how the game is playing out I'm having a lot of fun. Kandy got me some early relics, then greece took away my suzeranity and then immeditely declared war on me. Need to end that and work towards intercontinental travel so I can find some more trinkets for my palace.

I don't really want to be *that guy*, but I feel like y'all should know that someone over on Reddit datamined (or something) the abilities and two leader models from the Great Commanders.

Sorry, uninstall and reinstall the game? Steam itself? Also, what's the chess game fix? Thank you so much!

Uninstall and reinstall Civ -- not Steam.

The "chess fix" is discussed on another thread. But essentially, you add the cheapest possible game on Steam (In my case, I found a chess game for $.89). Then, you add the leader pass to the same cart. Checkout, open Civilization, and the new leaders will be there for you (assuming you have all other DLC purchased).

I feel like people are blaming Firaxis for something they're not responsible for.

Firaxis did what they were asked and they're getting the brunt of it, while it's 2K (Their publisher) and Steam (the platform)'s fault for this fiasco.

People do realize that not being able to buy the Anthology for $0 is Steam's problem, right? Neither Firaxis or 2K can control how the Steam store works.

Sorry friends... When you do business with someone, As Fxs does with 2K and Steam, you accept tha advantages AND DISADVANTAGES of that partnership.

This being 2K or Steam problem and not Fireaxis is 1) speculation (yes based of educated guesses, but still speculation) and 2) None of my d*** business.

I'm sick of people and companies not taking ownership of their problems and glitches.

I'm not on a headhunt for Fireaxis peoples heads... AT ALL... but anyone saying this launch is not an utter fiasco and defending any or all of valve/steam, 2K or Fireaxis is missing the mark IMHO.

That all being said, it's not the end of the world... I'm an IT professional of 35 years+ who has spent his share of sleepless nights because of bugs, so I understand what they're going through... It's just that to me,
this all stinks of a) an inexperienced dev team that was poorly supported by senior teammates or 2) bad bad testing...

I'll get the update one day... I'll survive... But this will STILL be an utter disaster launch, and nothing will change that !

So, I was right about Tokugawa getting penalties to International Trade Routes, @Zaarin was somewhat right about Great Conquerors being a Cultural Pack instead (Magnificent Suleiman and Nader Shah do indeed get some Combat Bonuses), and both Nader Shah and Tokugawa look absolutely magnificent.

To quote someone on the Reddit, they're taking extra long to perfect Suleiman's onion hat.

Yeah, I joked about the Commanders being cultural civs as well. Suleiman and Nader at least have combat bonuses. Tokugawa looks interesting. I'm definitely more excited about these three than what we received in the "Negotiators" pack.

Suleiman the Magnificent is the answer to my cultural Ottomans prayers, while Tokugawa looks super fun for playing tall and building up a massive megalopolis.

Shah isn't bad either. Slightly more flexible than Cyrus.

Would have been interesting if they gave Nader Shah a Zamburak UU, to make him more non-Achaemenid Persia, but I don't mind.

Tokugawa is going to love Wilhelmina and Joao III, not. :mischief:

Glad they aren't as militaristic as the Great Negotiators.

If that's true, I actually like this Suleiman and Japan variant better, I think. I might prefer this Persia too. I like that pack's abilities way more than this one's

It feels unlikely now that any leaders in LP will be getting their own UU or UI. This pass feels like it was done with a fairly low budget.

Peter the Great saw the trade routes abilities of Tokugawa and Nader Shah
