[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

I think this is the point where I bring up again that I'm sad that Tibet can never be an option

Ya know, before 2020 I would have said, yep, get used to that. Post all of this; I get the feeling many Western companies may be writing off China as a key market, and going back to them being an incidental one.

I tried to see if there were some gameplay factors that would help predict the upcoming civs, but there's surprisingly little consistency between those on R&F and GS... R&F had a lot of warmongers and science civs, while GS had a ton of terrain-based civs but only one that was really focused on warmongering on the Ottomans. The only consistent pattern is that there was one naval civ on each (Netherlands / Phoenicia).
regarding the ottomans, i wish they would stop making them so war-y. The Ottoman Empire was big on science and culture and making them an empire based around that (maybe using war?) would be way more interesting than your standard fare warmonger Ottomans.

It could be a domestic intelligence agency that protects against espionage.

At this point you’re just speculating on changes to espionage rather than anything related to secret societies

This was in regard to the new district, which probably isn't part of Secret Societies Mode.

Very possible, there will certainly be a shift to isolationism in the physical goods marketplace, but will be interesting if that spills over into digital goods at all. The buying power of China will always remain very tempting though. Might come down to the Chinese State's response to all of this, do they yield to international pressures and open up more or do they crack down harder and force full compliance for access to their market? Things will certainty be different moving forward however.

It just occurred to me that if Secret Societies affect governors,
Ah, but what if governors ARE secret societies? You know, that thing them all being Liangs, Pingalas, etc. - such a giveaway.
What if now one of them is the ringleader and if the world fails to figure out which one it is and act in time, they activate their secret plan, and, for example, all the cities, with, say, Victors, secede from their nations and form a new superpower, with a secret superweapon?

The new district will have 2 buildings if we assume the 2 new buildings are tied to the new district. I think only the Areodome have two builidngs, the other speciality district have all 3 buildings.

It could be either. If it’s Kublai Khan, my belief is that it will be like Eleanor, as all the alt leaders are base game civ leaders, and he’ll lead China as well as mongolia
I have seen Kublai hyped ad nauseam here. I wonder if he’s less likely, being mostly redundant with Genghis. Maybe I don’t know my history well enough, but they seem largely interchangeable from a thematic standpoint. Both would fill the warmonger role. In past dual leader situations, they always found someone whose focus would be very distinct from the others:

Pericles needs city states diplomacy while Gorgo needs war

Ghandi enables strong peaceful play while Chandra enables strong war play

Eleanor focuses on great works and loyalty while Catherine looks to spycraft and Victoria looks at industry.

Maybe they could give a post-conquest governing type of focus to Kublai, but Suleiman seems to fill that role already.

I see Kublai filling a similar, albeit different role than Suleiman: I can imagine that he uses war to increase culture and science within his nation.

It makes sense for it to be Espionage if we assume the buildings are era upgrades, because the system only kicks in mid-game.

I imagine both of these new districts are going to be one per civilization districts the same as the government plaza. The fact that they each have two buildings suggest they both arrive in the mid game.

I'm guessing espionage is one of them. The other one i have no idea, colonial district for buffing coastal cities on continents other than the one your capital is on?

I'm guessing it's going to have some relevance too the game mode that comes in that pack, and i am also clueless about what game modes we are going to be getting, i mean, we are getting six!!!

I'm hoping one is a health district that could arrive early game with an apothecary building.
Or if the apothecary isn't an option than the earliest building would probably be the hospital which would come midgame at Renaissance/Industrial.

It sound quite likely, could be tied into some sort of plauge system and maybe give housing, amenties and increase population growth.

i would love a health district, hospitals and perhaps a disease game mode

I also thought/hoped the other District and buildings would be health-related, though not sure what a good pick for the first tier would be if the second tier is hospital.

In terms of the new district i am guessing it's going to be a one-per civilization espionage district with buildings that give bonuses to spies.
Don't know about that. The government plaza give you three choices, with nine different buildings to choose from. And this new district only has two new buildings, at most you'd get one choice, with two buildings to choose from. Seems rather uninteresting. A colonial office replacement for the intelligence agency could be nice thought.

apothecary? clinic?

An apothecary like I mentioned would work in Classical era.

If it's not up by 1:30 Central/2:30 Eastern then I think the reveal is tomorrow

Ethiopia Finally!
Another religion focused civ. and they gonna be Judaism founder (Actually it is Hebrews who founded it, but Ethiopia practiced this religion for so many years until Christian Missionaries created their unique Christian Church there.

New GP too? maybe is it time Leiji Matsumoto will appear as Great Artist?
