[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

I was browsing Twitter on my phone when this dropped. Gasped and shot up from my bed the second I saw their tweet.

Very, very, very excited for this after all this time of waiting, and I look forward to welcoming the Maya, Gran Colombia, Ethiopia and whoever the rest may be into my games.

Yes Ethiopia, Bring on my Nile Valley Map

I think meteors will be in the normal game also, apocalypse is I would guess just „disaster level 12“

Sounds like the alt leader is for one of Mongolia, Korea, the Cree, the Dutch, Georgia, Mapuche, Scotland, or the Zulu.

My biggest hope is Kublai for Mongolia (and I would love for China as well).

Otherwise maybe Korea or Zulu.
We can rule out Tamar, she is irreplaceable

ETA: Kublai for Mongolia would be the obvious choice but I am half-expecting them to add MQoS for Scotland... if only because they know it will annoy some fans :mischief:

Yay! Glad we were reading the tea leaves fairly well!

Anyone see a price? Looks like the content of a full expansion in 6 chunks. Hoping it will be about the price of Gathering Storm.

Maya and the apocalypse game mode seems like a consistent doomday counter to me, like a major disaster that can wipe cities after certain number of turns. Hmmmn.

So Awesome !!! what with old world, humankind and this, I don't think I'll ever find time for other games this year ;-)

Thanks Fireaxis !! Loving this

So, what can people decipher from this?

If you zoom in on the units, they definitely seem to be the right ethnicity for Gran Colombia. So I'm guessing the improvements we see on the left – palm trees, fences, big buildings with red-tiled roofs, and what seems to be a crop growing – is the unique improvement for Gran Colombia.

Oh, and the giant comet.

Super excited to finally have the Maya and Ethiopia. :D Crossing my fingers that one of the unrevealed civs turns out to be the Gauls...

I think meteors will be in the normal game
I hope not, unless as something that can be toggled or at least as something that is extraordinarily rare. Could meteors have drastically changed history? Yes. Have they? No, not really. There hasn't been a major impact in recorded history. The Tunguska event was kind of interesting, but it didn't actually do anything except make us a little more aware that something could happen. :p

Otherwise maybe Korea or Zulu.
Korea, yes please. But the Zulu are kind of a one-trick pony; do they really need a second leader? :coffee:

It definitely isn't Tamar, she is irreplaceable
I'd be down with David the Builder, but I'd rather have Armenia. :p

I am really curious to see what uniques Gran Colombia has.

I am even more curious about what the new district will be. I suspect it will be a hospital.
