The fifth installation package, this is Kublai Khan led China and Mongolia, as well as civilization Series game fans have long been looking forward to Vietnam.
This series of conclusions have been drawn in June. Then the main aspect of the discussion became which leaders to choose. In addition to the intermediate discussion, whether there is a need for Celtic civilization, as well as some special considerations. Basically, it's not beyond this range.
First of all, the Mediterranean rim is crowded enough. Not to mention adding two more civilizations to southern Europe, even North Africa, is crowded enough. Secondly, an ancient Mesopotamian civilization may be a good choice. But considering the replacement of the city-state, it is unlikely that there will be two. It is absolutely impossible to exclude the entire Mediterranean region, together with Western Asia, that only two new civilizations have emerged. As for Northern Europe, I think they have been fully represented in the game. The Balkans are already crowded. There may be more representation in the Baltic Sea and Eastern Europe, but the high probability is only city states. I don't know about Native Americans, and it's hard to discuss who to choose. But I don't think Oceanian civilization can be ruled out. We need more space for discussion.
I think Italy is unlikely, but likelier now than it ever has been before since they're clearly reading these columns and responding to what the fans want (see: Georgia, Lady Six Sky, Gran Colombia, Vietnam*) There's been a very vocal contingent asking for a Renaissance Italian Civ for a long time now (myself included) and I think the most sensible way to do that would be with Florence as the capital and Lorenzo de' Medici as leader, with a money/culture synergistic style.
In a different world, a Hebrew/Judea civ under David or Solomon could open up a lot of possibilities (Maccabee UU! Faith/Culture bonus for being the target of a DOW! Better ideas, maybe!) but in our world, yeah, not gonna happen.
*Assuming the leaks are accurate, etc. But I'm 99% on Vietnam being in NFP.
To be honest, this is where I highly disagree. It is quite reasonable to exclude other civilizations from having a second leader. It is also logical to think that there will be a leader different from Genghis Khan in Mongolia. It is also reasonable to think that this leader may have ruled China. However, it is abrupt to confirm that he is Kublai Khan, which only shows that you do not know much about the history of Asia.
I recommend you search for someone_Empress Xiaozhuang. Please tell me if she will be a possible co leader of China and Mongolia?
Of course, if you say she was is not as important or famous as Kublai Khan. I can accept it. But this does not mean that Kublai Khan will be selected. It was so decisive that it ended the possibility of other discussions.

The fact that Kublai Khan and Vietnam were mentioned in the game files in the latest patch, and then had to be quickly removed, makes it likely that they are coming is what we are trying to say.
Considering the new leader requires R&F it's safe to say that it's Kublai for Mongolia. Whether he can possibly lead China is a different story.
I wouldn't be against a medieval-focused Italy either, because it also has a lot of potential. We could have the Kingdom of Sicily for example, lead by William II, with bonus from having a multi-faith empire, or an ability based on the Lombard League with city states. Venice is naturally a possibility as well.
Venice is the only real contender for Medieval Italy, IMO. The rest of Italy wasn't doing anything particularly significant in the Middle Ages, and much of it was under the thumb of the Holy Roman Empire. (I'm excluding the Papal States, of course. Even aside from the fact that the Vatican was just added as a city-state, I don't see Firaxis making a Papal State civ, as interesting as it could be.)
The only real contender for a female ruler of China is Wu Zetian. Mongols have a couple--I'd love to see Sorghaghtani Beki, for instance, Kublai's mother who also served as regent, but there's also Mandukhai Khatun and a couple others. As for Xiaozhuang, she was an influential empress dowager and could conceivably be chosen for China in a manner similar to CdM--but to be honest I don't see the appeal of even an influential empress dowager over Wu Zetian; I can't see choosing her for Mongolia. She was Mongolian, but as far as I can tell she never had any political power in Mongolia.

Dude you know there was a Kublai Khan and Vietnam file in the patch right? Like, they’ve basically confirmed both Kublai Khan and Vietnam will be in civ

You forgot Arabia and possibly Nubia.
Though I still wouldn't call it crowded. With Phoenicia, starting in the Levant, and it not being Carthage, I think they could realistically put in Numidia or some kind of pre-Islamic Berber civ in that area.

If we get a second pass of DLC, I think either a Berber civ or Moroccan civ is highly likely. I'd love to see Numidia, but I don't find it likely on account of lacking the name recognition of "Berbers" or "Morocco."
