Back in Civ2, when you captured the Capital of a large enemy nation (and there were fewer than seven civs in the game) the enemy nation would split into two seperate civs. It was highly unrealistic (especially when half the German nation became... the Japanese!) and absurdly drastic, but neither Civ3 nor 4 seem to have had anything similar.
What happens in Civ4 is X number of Civs start the game, a few get wiped out depending on how aggressive you are. But no new ones ever appear, which is silly really considering how in real life, how many nations are there which have been around since the dawn of civilization? Only 1 or 2 (Not 100% sure about China and India?) but I think that's it. Also, there's random city flipping, and civil disorder, but essentially you have 100% power over all your people, again unrealistic.
So it would be nice to see more rebellions, with new nations formed, after prolonged civil disorder or based on religion perhaps. Is there any way to implement this/has it already been done?
