Civver Looking For PBEM Game...

Hi everyone
I'm looking forward to join any pbem game (BTS). Never played MP, in single feel comfortable on monarch/emperor.
Location: GMT+1, Copenhagen.
Can be contacted here or by email.
 
Looking for my first PBEM game. I play BTS and am open for pretty much any game set up.

GMT: -8 (California, USA)

I would prefer it if people contacted me here.
 
Looking For: CIV IV BTS multiplayer, could be free for all but i would prefer teaming up against the computer as im kinda a newbie.
Maybe I could also sign up for some vanilla civ IV or some civ II

We need 2 permanent replacement players for the Randompires game. We have a good pace going except for 2 players which we wish to replace. We need someone who will do their turns regularly.

I would like to try a PBEM game. Would need some help getting started. Played a lot of SMAC PBEM but I haven't played such in a long time.

Ought to add that back in the SMAC days I played up to six games concurrently with most of them averaging nearly a turn per day. And most of those games finished. So, yes, I understand the level and length of committment.

Mister Cooper, glad to see another player around here. New games don't start all that often these days, most of the PBEM community seems to have their max number of games going and so until games finish, new games don't really get started by the veteran players. My guess is we might get 1 new game started per month at best.

Your best bet is to just dive right in and come up with an idea for your own game and start a new thread for it. You'll most likely get at least a few players interested (a lot of players dont want to spend the time admining their own games) and send some PMs to the other players looking for games in this thread and once you have 1 game thread to keep checking back to, you'll find it easy to notice when new calls for replacements go out or when any other new games get started. Thats how I started with this about 1 year ago and now I'm in over a dozen PBEM games, most brand new and a few as a replacement...

I dont have any games for you and dont have the time to add another game to my mix, but I thought the advice would be helpful... I hate to see players never get a chance. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I'll hang for a bit and maybe get a replacement gig. Being unfamilar with the setup I am a wee bit leery of starting one right now.

Back in the SMAC days we had gamemasters that would set games up and run them. None of those around today?

Usually whoever starts the thread or has the idea for a game is considered like the game admin and is the guy who hits the launch button. Sometimes people have ideas and settings they will 100% use and just need players. But lots of times people just start new totally random games, settings are voted on once people say they will join, and other than someone hitting the launch button, everything else is self-policed. But these game admin people are also almost always a part of the game.

PBEM games are super easy to play, once you hit "enter" there is a save file created and it needs to be emailed to the next player. I went into this admining a game having only done 1 PBEM in my life and it turned out fine, the PBEM veterans who decided to join the game helped me along.

I too am looking for a good, muture group/gang to play with. Have a lo-o-n-n-g histroy with Civ. Was quite active with MP in Civ 3 days, incl'g some of the epic, worldwide games last lasted until rocket ARRIVAL,
Tired of playing Civ 4 by self. I'm semi-retired so can, & do, honor my commitments, in a timely manner.

Thanks for your good info Nighthawk419. So i understand cheking in here as a replacement is a good way to get back in.

If that's so, email is best bet to contact this semi-serious player. Meanwhile i'll chek in here more often. May do as U suggest, start a game & see who shows up.
 
I pinged Cooper, Kenwyn, Gpcii, and Count1 for their email addresses (the 2 unknown new ones anyway) to see if I can start another.
After they respond, I will revive an old unused thread to discuss settings.

After just noticing, I also now pinged Osbiath, Kokturk, and orangegovlin.

Click on the link under their name - depending on the individual it offers the options to send them a PM and/or send them an email.

hi everyone in the civ4 community!
it´s been a while since my last post in this forum. to be honest, i´m not a newbie, but a veteran from civ2 pbems!
after a few years in retirement, i decided to give civ4 a try... and well, well... what a pleasant surprise!

so, i guess i´d like to get back in business :D

answering the "registry form":

Looking For: CIV IV BTS PBEM, mainly historical scenarios (like ww2 1939, earth 2010)

Favorite Civilizations: don't really have much of a favourite; depends on the scenario
