Comings, Goings and New Arrivals 0x0A: Hasta La Vista, or Welcome Back. I Guess it Depends...

I will be on a jury for the rest of the week. I was selected for a criminal jury trial today. I will be away from CFC all day for the rest of the week.

The trial went very fast today. 3 prosecution witnesses, one defendant witness (him); We, the jury, got the case at 3:45 and in an hour the defendant was convicted on all three charges.

Yikes!

How long will you be there @amadeus ? Thinking of taking my parents potentially very soon (weeks) or around in Spring.

Recently got back into playing Civ. Love how the search feature here gets me answers to so many Civ questions.

This place had some very nice people who take the time to post thoughful messages. I would like to be able to share informative topics with interested readers, and maybe share some of my thoughts on your topics when I come up with useful contributions. Please be supportive of me and I will do my best to be supportive of you.

Welcome to Off Topic!

I'm back from Poland, it was an amazing time, it was at times an emotional time, I reconnected with my roots, I helped fulfill my grandmother's final fishes, I visited several places from my youth and my memories, I helped and joined my mother on her journey, I did about half of the trip solo, I met a textmode ansi artist from my group, I met Squonk, I met up with multiple family members, met some new people, ate a lot of incredible food, visited a whole bunch of cities I've never been to, I learned a bunch about Polish history and culture, and it was both an outwards and inwards journey for me that I'm still processing.

I'm back but basically got home about 15 hours ago, since then I've been at work for 7 hours, I'm tiiiiiiiired, jetlagged, missing Polish food, but am happy to be back in Canada to a reasonable degree. Using this thanksgiving weekend to rest up, so I'm as good as new by tuesday.

Btw Squonk is a nice guy, he hooked me up with a bunch of tasty Polish candies. Also a super interesting guy who knows a lot of interesting tidbits and has some interesting stories

I will be continuing the Taiwan thread likely early next week, but maybe before that

Good on you with those final fishes.

I re-read that comment so many times, I have no idea how I missed that typo lol. I mean, I do, I was really jetlagged at the time, but still. My grandmother would have found it funny so I will leave it as is

Squonk is indeed a nice person, I have known him since his civ2 days.
It'd be nice to have more of him in the web instead of certain trash.

Hi. Thank you. You are nice too. Very pleasant to see you. I remember when we were probably the only Poles here. The only ones I remember. Today it's probably many more. It was nice to see pics from your travel, too.
