Community Feature: Voice Actor Revealed

hey greg you might want to change ur website I don't think theres a p in dreamt.

Wow, mathematics sounds so dark this time. Almost as if he's about to say mathematics is the gate and key to hell.

Otherwise the quotations seem alright. Whenever I hear voices so deep though, I'm reminded of lame movie trailer voice overs, but hopefully that will pass.

I liked that, it sounded good :)

But i must say i was expecting Arnold Schwarzenegger :(

EDIT: He would of been cool in the tech that gives you giant death robots

I'm shocked at how people will always find some tidbits to complain about...
"The voice is not good enough...", "The quotes are lame...", "The box art has no theme..."...
Uh...

This Morgan guy has an OK voice.

But Nimoy, what are you talking about? Wasn't Civ IV's voice that of Patrick Stewart's? And he has one of the best acting voices in my opinion...

Where is Nimoy in that picture, did I miss something?

He's got a really cool voice that also makes me feel comfortable and safe.
Was he in Asterix and Obelix or something? I think that's where the feeling comes from - I listen to his voice and suddenly I'm six years old again.

He sounds quite fine to me, and like most elements to new editions of Civ, it'll grow on you to the point where when Civ6 comes out you say, "Who's that new voice guy? He's no Morgan Sheppard!"

Anyway, I usually play my Chinese language version of Civ4 ... so think of the guy who dubs the 2am kungfu movies. Yeah, him.

It would have been cool if it was Patrick Stewart doing the tech quotes in cIV (or V for that matter), but in IV it definitely was Spock himself doing the quotes (until we got new techs in the expansion packs). Listen again, there is no British accent for the tech quotes (which there would be if it were Stewart).

But thanks for making me imaging the techs in Picard's voice! The new guy is fairly good as well.

With all due respect to Mr. Nimoy, my grandfather could have read the lines better. And he's dead.

It's great that they're getting capable voice actors for these things. I also recognized Keith David's distinctive voice in the first trailer ("A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history...").

I agree Keith would have been better though Morgan's deep voice is good, Nimoy is a hard act to follow and I for one would have loved to see Nimoy come back, or maybe James Earl Jones would have been a very good pick as well.

And yes I agree with Patrick Stewart, he would be good too and another SciFi actor with a classical stage acting background.

i liked nimoy a LOT better. i'm still trying to decide who is worse: this guy or the guy who read the quotes in BtS.

That was Sid Meier himself, they had to do something and XP's don't have a large budget and Sid came free :P Yes he is not a trained voice actor, but he still did better than any of us would do.

I like it.

I was going to try to come up with something a bit more profound, but this will just have to do for now.
