Computer Questions Not Worth Their Own Thread II

Some poorly designed sites I've been on have a fixed-width background image repeating in the middle of a page, usually leaving something running down the middle of the page. Other than not maximizing the window, what can I do about it? (I tried to google and got some things about HTML and web design. Although it's annoying, I'm not going to hack into the server to fix it.)

I seem to recall a FF extension that allowed you to manipulate a site. ?? Monkey, or something like that.

Hmm, problem is this isn't exactly a very popular site. I'll take a look anyways.

I tried googling to find out how to add footnotes to an HTML document. I found this but I don't quite understand it. Other than that, the only things I found were stuff for specific software, Wikipedia, and non-HTML things. Can somebody please explain to me what it means, thank you

EDIT: I also found a Javascript code.

EDIT AGAIN: Finally I got some useful words that Google likes

Hi, could you help me, I hqve firefox and safari (on mac) and neither are loading secure websites, help please

Perhaps some weird security software? I don't know about security software on Mac but it's my first impression????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should 32 bit programs run on 64 bit windows 7? I was looking at some games on steam and a few said in the requirements that they don't work on xp or vista 64 bit versions, just wondering if I get the 64 bit windows 7 if I'll have potential problems.

They should work. I havent had any trouble running x86 programs under Windows Vista x64 or Win 7 x64.

If it specifically says it will not work in Vista 64-bit, it likely will not work in Win7 64-bit either.

However, I'm surprised there's anything on Steam that doesn't work in Win7 64-bit (although I recently found out World of Goo basically fails if you've got dual monitors :(.) Google the game in question before you buy.

Question: What's the proper name of the double-thick DVD packaging that sometimes games come in/

EDIT: Another question: A while ago I saw a freeware program that simulates a webcam, but it plays a video. Anybody know what it is? The only thing I found was shareware

Firebug.

How do I prevent keyboard keys from getting stuck (literally) and doing all sorts of weird things? Especially the SHIFT key.

er... did you mean shift key?

They say it specifically won't work on those, but looking online it seems it can just needs some tweaking. I was just wondering if win7 was more compatible with older stuff actually because of that xp mode thing it has.
