But the flamingo's mouth is just a marvel of evolutionary forces at work. The combination of form and function. I don't see what's not to like about it. They feed, predominately, on shellfish in high alkaline lakes, don't they? I didn't know they had a parasitic/lodger snail that's found a niche for itself on their tongues. Fantastic!

Based on what I've already read, I'm 90% sure that's just the Daily Mail being the Daily Mail. It's based in part on a graphic novel Aronofsky did. Here's the preview for that:

Hope you're right, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Wouldn't the first time hollywood screwed up a perfectly viable plot in trying to appeal to a mainstream audience.

Maybe. He's talked about having this project in mind since he was very young, and I feel like a Noah's Ark movie is pretty balls-out no matter how you set it. Hell, last time somebody modernized it, it was a financial loss. I'm optimistic that artistic integrity will be intact this time around.
