Coolest way you've made $?

We translated Japanese manuals into english manuals. That was quite a bit of fun, because the Japanese use turns-of-phrase that don't translate well into English, and we often had no idea what they meant.

Eating prechewed gum.

It's not me, but one of my brothers made some money when he was an undergrad at the uni. He enroled in a clinical test sponsored by Danon. He had to eat four lactose free Danon yogourts (sp?) every day for a couple of weeks or so. He got the yogourts for free and some money for the trouble.

I did sell my blood (well a little bit of it ;) ) for a scientific project as well. One of my lab's mates had this project where he had to synthesize some drugs ant test them. And he needed some fresh blood to test the drugs.

Not what I did... but someone at my school was bet that he couldn't wear a completely different shirt every day for the two years of sixth form...

And he did!

I cut slits in tennis balls, and then pretended they were mouthes. Then I drew a face on it (eyes, a moustache, and some hair) and sold them for cashola. I made around $220 (keep reading)

Best way I took money away from somebody? I slandered my friend's magazine, so he went out of business.

Keep in mind this was all a simulation of a nation, with fake money. So nobody's feelings were really hurt for a period of time longer than 6 months

Whenever my school sells tickets to an event, naturally some people will buy them and then decide not to go, and will be willing to sell the tickets at a low price. Others will not get around to buying tickets until it's too late. It's rather easy to make a profit by buying tickets from the former group and selling them to the latter. :)

Also, I've made money by taking off various articles of clothing in German class---our teacher isn't very observant, mind you. (Similarly, although I didn't get any money out of this, I was able to move my desk about a centimeter to the left each minute, and the teacher didn't notice until I was about halfway across the room.)

On the flip side, I've done experiments like what Urederra describes and have had to pay my human subjects.

Well mine were. This topic was generally understood to be about making real money.

I scam fast food places, for food usually. Once, however, I "ordered" $15 in Jack 'n the Box milkshakes, and when I called back to let them know that my "order" was screwed up and I wanted a reorder, they informed me that their machien was broken and gave me cash! woohoo! I took the $15 and went across the street and bought milkshakes there!

When I worked at a fast food place we really hated dealing with customers like that.

As for me? I made $100 over 2 days cleaning up after police horses at a downtown outdoor basketball tournament. I also made $30 over 2 days by wearing a caterpiller costume for a shoe store opening, and alternately delighting/terrifying small children.

Well, definately the easiest way was when I got elected student's representative in the school commision of my old school. About one session monthly for about 1.5 hours, mostly listening and sometimes telling them your own opinion (being most of the time nice... ;)) and getting paid for that ;)
twas quite cool ;)

Certainly not the coolest but potentially the creepiest.

Some half-drunken frat guy offered to pay me $10 if he could run his hands through my hair. This was creepy in two ways. First, girls are traditionally the targets of men’s affection when it comes to hair. Second, he just randomly came up to me and made the offer. I refused but $10 is a lot for a college student. Maybe I should’ve accepted.

Did you check if he had dirty hands? Maybe he just came out of the bathroom and they ran out of tissue. :mischief:

I found it on the ground

Uh... I remember when I was a child (8 yo or so) a cousin of mine and I were looking for shells on the beach (at the sea shore, ;) ) My cousin found some cool shells, I found a 5000 ptas note instead. (It worthed like $100 at that time)

I was paid $5 to go over to a friends house and wake him up in the morning.

It is harder than it sounds, I almost had to commit assault with a deadly weapon to get him to snap into conciousness.
