Mmmmm. This is looking good for me. Let's see if I can get a great deal out of this war I've entered myself...

Orders for 2400BC:
Now that the orders are up there, let's see how the sudden invasion of Carthage has affected Tartessos...
Story:
Monarch's Palace, 21st September, year 475 of the Kingdom
King Paulo the First was walking around the grounds of the palace where he lived alongside his wife and his three children. This time of the day, he usually walked around, enjoying some of his free time alone and away from the hardships of government. The recently started war against Carthage, for the reason that they had been supporting the pirates that had plagued the sea for so many years, had started two years before his father died and he was enthroned, and he had had to keep it on, as he knew that if they stopped right now, the Carthaginians would look at it as a weakness sign and then the reaction might be worse.
At home, things were going pretty well, however. The lands over which Tartessos ruled were each year greater than the one before, and expansion into the islands of the sea had started, with several colones establishing small towns in each of the biggest islands of the Balearic Archipelago. One of the army trainers, the one who was organising the Guerrilleros' training, had asked for one of the smaller islands in the archipelago to be given to the army, so that training could be done in a more isolated environment, which, after a heated debate, was conceded by the High Council of Tartessos.
Just in that moment, a messenger ran into the garden where the king was, slipping slightly as the soles of his sandals didn't create enough friction against the sand soil.
"What's the matter, Neilke?" he asked the Hellenic-origined messenger, who was panting as he tried to recover from the race he had done.
"Your Majesty," Neilke replied, breathing hard, and handing the king a piece of rolled-up parchment, "a message was sent by General Herib. It says that Qar-Hadasht has fallen."
"WHAT?" the king shouted, surprised. "Qar-Hadasht has fallen?"
"Yes, Your Majesty. Apparently, the Carthaginians had no true, organised army like ours, and so the African Army had no problem to advance towards the east from our holdings in there. There have been very few casualties in both the African and the Iberizan Armies, as the Guerrilleros corps managed in many occassions to infiltrate the main towns and take control of them.
"As for Qar-Hadasht itself, the soldiers found great quantities of gold ingots and objects, probably coming from the raids their galleys launched against Sicilia itself. They have been sent to Tartesia next to this message and currently the gold is being transported to the Royal Treasury."
"What about Carthage's reaction to the taking of their capital city?"
"No reaction for now, although it seems that the enemy galleys and their tripulations managed to escape the attack on the city. General Herib presumes that they must have ran away to Sardinia, as that would be the only safe port they had in the whole Mediterranean."
"Thank you very much, Neilke. Please, inform the members of the High Council that a meeting is to be held right now."
"Immediately, Your Majesty," Neilke said, running out of the garden at top haste.
Meanwhile, King Paulo stood at a shadow, still amazed at the success the army had had in the attack. As he kept reading the message sent by his best General - the ability to write was only known to some of the elites of the nation, although this was being reversed thanks to the Teachers' Guild, who was doing its best to expand the knowledge of writing and reading between the lower classes of Tartessos - he noticed that the messenger had understated the situation.
Apparently, the opposition the General had met had been next to nil, and even that was wiped out without a problem. Herib stated that the African Army would have no problem to keep control of the recently invaded lands, and that he was going to send the Iberizan Army to the Balearic Islands, just in case Carthage decided to strike against the mostly unprotected zone.
Now, it was time to see how Carthage reacted to the fast attack that had suddenly left them with very few lands and even fewer leaders, as nearly all of the aristocrats had been caught in the attack of Carthage, and most of them hadn't been able to reach the port before being found by the Army.
How is this going to be? Will it be the seeds of our defeat or the start of our greatest era? King Paulo asked himself as he walked out of the garden, towards the High Council Chambers.
