CrezNES - Another Return to Our Roots

The Trip to Madagaskar

For a long time Songhai traders have been trading with the Zulu's they've heard much about the Zulu's other trade partner the Madagaskar. That they originally came from the large island to west of the Zulu's. They great seamen and they control small region on the east coast of Africa and they are a honourable people.

So some traders decide to find them and hopefully trade with them to get a bigger profits. They now had to decide how they will get there. There are currently 3 main way to get to Madagaskar from the Songhai; first is to go around the coast which be the slowest ever with the small improves in ship making, secound is go through Zulu's and trade with them as we past though which will probability be good move, or finally the quickest and most dangerous way which is travel through the Congolese barbarians. The Barbarians have been at war with the Zulu since the Songhai first meet Zulu and most of their territory was a war zone between the two. The Congolese will not be happy if they find the traders as Songhai trade-pact with their enemy..

Which way these brave merchant decide to take it will take long time to reach the Madagaskar to find out what treasures they can get from them.

Nationalism

All throughout the streets of London, Flanders, Liverpool, Cornwall and Nates, hundreds of thousands poured into the streets as the final vikings are poked off a dock into the Seine River. Celebration reading a fever pitch, they chanted ,"Make'm Pay! Make'em Pay!" refering to the Looting of London a few centuries ago. Our commanders gathered and talked of the sudden change of faith of our Cordial Friends: Norway and Teutonia, and finally agreed that they are also enemies of this blight in their lands.

Gin was mixed and Fizzed openly flowed throughout the day known as VG Vikings Gone day. The New "General National Army" is marching into Dani land, opened up with intensive flaming arrow fire and cleared out by commando Partisan units. The Militia, said to be disbanded soon, will instead be reorginized into a new army: the Highland Dragoons. The Celts, now one of the civilized people of the Union, cheered this move as it will be converted when they have the money. (Militia-> Army)

After the invention of the Alphabet, Emperor Obama of the Zulu Empire proudly presents the first edition of the Zulu Herald:

ZULU HERALD

EDITION 1

War against Congolese Barbarians continues...
Our Empire has been at war for several centuries with the Congolese Barbarians. At times the war went bad, very bad, losing all our brave armies to the despicable Congolese Barbarians. In order to crush them Emperor Obama has decided to put Warchief Barbapapa in command of the Zulu forces. We all hope for the best...

Here's Warchief Barbapapa:

and here are the Congolese Barbarians:

Take a good look at our adversaries! Frightening eh?

A joyous event for the Empire!
Emperor Obama officially states that the alliance with our honourful friends from Madagascar will be in effect from now on. Anyone who harms our friends harms us, anyone who harms us, harms our friend from Madagascar. After this being said Emperor Obama has decided to make to the day of the signing of the Alliance the first national holiday in the Empire: Alliance Day.
Zulu-maidens-dancing.jpg

We had a good time!!

Business as usual...
It is expected that in the next century the Zulu Trade Center will be finished. We invite our Songhai and Madagascar friends to conduct their trade via our new trade center. No dangerous sailing trips or Congolese Barbarians to interfere...

Ranjeet was pissed that the Stonehenge had been built. But soon, the funds spent on it were refunded. He had an idea that was secret.

Overall, nothing really happened.

Koryo

Koryo had entered an age of stagnation after it's consolidation as the only power on the Korean peninsula. The old Xenshin capitol was rebuilt, but other than that, not much growth had been introduced to the country. The lands of Koryo had plenty of potential, sure, but the rulers, distant from their populace... Assuming the roll of legendary status, only. Rarely interacting with high nobles in person let alone the populace.

Soon, however, this changed. Nufon Misetsu, born some say in the year 2187BC, became the Emperor of Koryo. This would forever shape Koryo's destiny among the community of nations. Nufon Misetsu was a man who took no task with cinicism. Always on top of things. Always getting out and about from his palace. He visitted the four corners of his empire, and even payed personal visit to the land of Wu.

The Emperor of Wu, 2 times the age of the young Emperor Misetsu, was quick to befriend Misetsu. The young Misetsu continued this relationship with the Wu emperor 'till his death. The letters the 2 allies wrote to one another can be found in the Museum of Ancient Koryo today.

Misetsu wrote in Wu to their Emperor, mostly because Wu's alphabet was more sophisticated than that of koryo's. Before Misetsu was dead, however, he greatly improved his country's alphabet.

If this wasn't enough, he made sure to encorporate a few extra provinces to the Empire from the barbarians to the north. The JugguhNOTs were deffinetly the best force in the world, and he utilized them to their fullest.

In addition to all this, he improved the agricultural status of the country. He recieved input from the agrarian people of his lands and made a huge deal of spending directed at the imperial gardens, which laid the foundation for the next city that was to be made for the Empire. This city was to be named after himself "Misetsu". Unfortunately, the Emperor had died before the city was created. His legacy remaned, however, and his country prospered.

Koryo's Deciding Battle Against Xenshin I meant to write a story about this sooner, but haven't had the time.

Wang Hang Lo, the Supreme General of Koryo's forces, had spent the winter to the south of the Xenshin western city of Pu-Min. Pu-Min was the target for the forces of Wang Hang Lo, and as soon as spring came he set out about his campaign.

The recent victories over the Xenshin were brought about by Wang Hang Lo's brilliant use of numbers, and a relentless pursuance of the enemy once they were routed. He knew that the enemy would be using their own conscripts, come spring time, and Wang Hang Lo needed some way of realizing the victory, and numbers wouldn't be the card he had this time.

It was time, durring this winter, to encorporate one of his divisions into the order of the JugguhNOT. The first order was outright destroyed without prejeduce due to an overwhelming opposition in the first phase of the war, under the inept leadership of the first general, who's name has been forgotted.

The JugguhNOT, while using crude stone weapons (Not dissimilar to the enemy Xenshin), were clad from head to toe in bamboo, and hide armor, so as to protect them from the enemy weapons. This made them a fiersome foe to meet on the battlefield, because not much could hurt them. An enemy had to bludgeon the JugguhNOT to death, unless they had sharper or sturdier weapons than stone that the Xenshin could bring to the field.

So all throughout the winter, Wang Hang Lo drilled this division. Night and day passed, and drills and training in the winter Korean mountains. The JugguhNOTs were to be ready the next spring.

Spring came, and Wang Hang Lo ordered his men to Pu-Min. The campaign started as a division of regulars went to siege the city. The rest of the army Wang Hang Lo had in reserve.

The enemy general, Imiha, had a division of regulars and conscripts within the city... He sallied out to relieve his city of the besiegers, believing that the main force of Koryo was sieging the capitol. The regulars retreated to the main body, with Wang Hang Lo.

All was going according to Wang's plan, but the Xenshin force from the capitol was moving in at the same time. A pincer was formingaround the Koryo forces.

Soon the 2 armies were on the field... The Koryo force had 2 fronts to fight on. The JugguhNOTs were used against the Pu-Min force, with conscripts to help. The rest of his force, another 2 divisions of conscripts, and the regulars, were left to fend off the Xenshin main force from the northeast.

The battle begun, and quickly the JugguhNOTs proved their worth. Slicing through enemy after enemy, the JugguhNOTs went about crushing the force from the northwest. Soon the enemies were dead, and the JugguhNOTs, with Wang Hang Lo in their midst turned east to help the other detatchment.

That detatchment had been destroyed utterly, however, and as soon as they got there the enemy ambushed them from all sides. So many Xenshin, and so few Koryo. The conscripts with them fell and were slain quickly.... Only the JugguhNOTs remained.

After an hour of battle, Wang ordered his men form a wedge, and made their way straight to the enemy general. The enemy general, however, made nothing of this, and simply had his men surround the JugguhNOTs and told them to leave no man alive.

The JugguhNOTs took them completely by surprise, however, and broke through the enemy lines. They reached the enemy general, and slain him. The enemy was broken, and the JugguhNOTs gave persuit. For 2 days they followed, untill Wang heard of Nipponese landings in the north. He told his men to stay put, and consolidate. The battle was won.

The Four Wise Men

Emperor Htletchta was sleeping in his empty room, devoid of all decorations except for some large sketching of The King, and his personal guitar. You see, Htletchta decided to become more pious, and to help with this, began taking the oaths the monks took, trying to better live life in peace and simplicity, rather than wealth. During his sleep, he dreamt of four men, sitting in an open field. These men spoke to Htletchta, and told him of a great treasure near his lands. Their speech was sing-songy, but it didn't seem intentional. Their skin was white like the clouds and surf, their hair all seemed to be as if cut from a bowl, they had hair growing down their cheeks, between their ears and faces, and their teeth were fairly yellow and crooked. He asked them why they looked and sounded as they did...and they looked each other puzzled.

"I guess we ah just average for people from 'Liva-poo'".

Although Htletchta could barely understand them, he knew what he must do...lead his people to the famed wealth in the south. And with that, the four men began to fade away saying "We'll keep en touch." Right before they were about to be gone, he shouted out for their names. Quickly, in order, they responded, then were gone.

Htletchta continued to sit in the field, going over the information he had learned over and over again. Treasure in the south..."Liva-poo"...Jun...Pawl...Joage...Rengo...

Historia del Deporte
Balompie

The sport of balompie (a name that has stuck, in spite of attempts from linguists in the Channel Union to apply it to their language as football) is the most ancient and played sport in the world. It is known to have been developed in the ancient city of Toleto (Tartessos) around the 10th century. According to the legend, the first ever balompie match was played between two neighbourhoods of the city over who had more rights to extract water from a well that was kept in the middle point of the neighbourhoods. The legend also says that, in the end, a tie was declared by two friends, one from each neighbourhood, shouting that it was becoming too much of a battle instead of a game, as several people had had to be taken to a healer as they were bleeding from cuts and broken noses.

Of course, it would take many years for the game of balompie to develop to the current form. In its starts, it was most probably a game played by children, starting with a leather ball which was kicked around by the boys and girls, practising their ability to pass the ball. It wouldn't take much for the children to invent a game in which the ball would be kicked so that it entered between two sticks, and that there would be one player which would try only to stop the ball from entering between the sticks, using his hands and feet (it's been documented that, from its inception, only the player that protects the goal has been allowed to touch the ball with his hands), and from there it would slowly evolve, with the children adding new rules as they came.

When an adult - one of the children's parents, most surely - noticed how much fun the children had, he talked about it with several friends and the game was started to be played between adults, too.

By the year 1350, the first friendly matches between neighbourhoods were being played, and fifty years later the first match between two cities (Toleto versus Talavera, which ended 5-2 in favour of the Toletans) was played, thus starting a trend that extended to the whole country, although for many years the game would only be played among players who lived in cities that were at short distances.

When the first transport horse-ridden carriage was developed, the radius of possible rivals increased, thus expanding the knowledge of it to other cities.

The first match played out of Tartessos was played in the Floridean city of Corunia, where the neighbourhoods of Feans and Marina played to a Marinan win in the year 1378, and the sailors who had seen the game being played brought it to their home country, from where it expanded to Massachussets, Chicago and California, while Channel Union and Milanese merchants brought it to their own countries, thus expanding it even further, and by the year 2000, there was no nation without local football teams and championships.

With the invention of airplanes, the first ever Gaian Cup was played in a small plaza in the outskirts of Toleto. The final between the Tartessian team and the Floridean team was won decisively by Tartessos in an astonishing victory, with the captain of the Tartessian team Rahul Gonzal scoring thrice in a match that ended 7-4. From there, the Gaian Cup would be played every five years, always changing the location, and in the forty-nine Gaian Cups that have been played since then Tartessos has won 15, with Florida earning 7, the Channel Union 6, the Kingdom of Milan and Songhai 3, the Zulu Empire, Massachussets and Chicago 2 and the Hellenic Republic, California, Russia, Jasiran, Wu Empire, Koryo, Bengal, Madagaskar and Nippon 1 each.

The fiftieth Gaian Cup will be celebrated in the country of Tartessos, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the creation of the Gaian Cup, with the final being played in the "Salto de Caballo" plaza, built in the same place where that first ever Gaian Cup final was played more than two centuries ago. The main favourites, like last year's winner the Channel Union, all times winner Tartessos and most-times runner ups Milan and Florida are hoped to give this tournament a great following in all the world, with more than 700 millions of people expected to watch the great final through their TV sets...

Story Time:

Ilkahit was still alive. Over a hundred years after hearing the voices of the light, and he hadn't aged a bit. It was his blessing, and his curse. The Lights, giving him the mission of leading his people to the Promised Land, called "Chinookia" had also given him time to ready his people for the move. And by giving him time, they extended out his life. However, to make sure he stayed focus for this time, the Lights also made it impossible for him to "get it up" so to speak, but promised that once he had his people in Chinookia, he'd be returned to his mortal life.

So, the years went by. The once divided tribes grew closer together, under his guidance and leadership. There were still some within the new nation that resented this leader, but they were a minority at best. Just the fact that he was well over 100 years old, and only looked 30, proved that he was chosen to lead these people out of the harshness of their current environment, and into greater lands, and so they were willing to follow his words.

Now, after establishing some permanent settlements along the coast, he set about raising food, crafting gear, and training soldiers. For, where they were to go, danger was sure to cross their paths, and it was up to him to be ready for it.

Ten Tin Tariff

The Rise of the Bronze Age in the Channel Union brought it into new hights. Their Partisans re-equiped themselves and their National Fleet used nails for the first time, building Galleys and Longboats out of Oak. However, the greatest boast to the nation is that Tin was discovered in the limestone Cliffs of Cornwall...

The Steward of Cornwall quickly saw his chance. Brewster moved concentration out with a new workshop at London so this new industy intrigued him. Hiring a dozen inspecters and a hundred trainers from Tartessos they begun checking its quality...

He listened as they explained most tin come from small surface deposites. He listened as they cussed at this purer and abundent source of tin. "This Tin!" they cried, "Can be worth more than Gold!"

His heart, willing the best for the Union, thanked them and developed the land. With it Cornwall grew from a large town to a City. Given the title of Free City like five others, the Steward became the Mayor. As his mines grew longer and longer his first export to the Forges of Tartes was quickly exchanged with gold.

He know that the next age, an age of Iron, will come, but he know that as long as it isn't here, his mines will provide the funds the Union needs to leap into the future.

Hopefully the surprise attack will lessen resistance to attack or if not that, then give the armies a chance to attack the sioux cities before Cal reinforcements arrive.
- Have 1 Bison Archer move from the north to quickly try to catch the northern Sioux city as according to the map. It can settle for a siege if there isn't any surprise, but it is to withdraw east to other allied troops and help them if any significant hostile armies come close.
- Have the other bison archer move from the north and race west to Salt Lake City and try to catch it by surprise and capture it. If it can't then settle down for a siege.
- Have all armies try to avoid the marquis if possible. The bison archers can just outrun them and the Iron armies can try to let Mass's armies deal with them.
