Crusader Kings 2

The new expansion offers a number of rulers w/ rare religions. Now for several bookmarks there is a choice of a couple different Jewish leaders, amoung others.

Yeah, new expansion out. Not too excited about the Indians themselves based on what I've seen these past few weeks in the dev diaries and other stuff, I'm more excited about east Africa and Central Asia. Sadly though it appears the devs really didn't put in the Khitan after all, which is a pity. And ahistorical too, given they controlled like half of the current Central Asia at their height.

Anyhow, with the new expansion, comes new features, plenty of bugs, and furious modding work to keep things up to date with the new stuff.

The new expansion breaks saves, by the way. I'm not sure about the patch itself sans expansion.

Wow, not even starting troops for the jewish ethiopian guy, or 1000 gold like cumania. kudos for anyone who can make something of that

You can opt into betas of old patches on Steam, allowing you to play saves from older patches.

Steam-CK2 isn't recognising that I have the new DLC installed, even though the new patch is working and Steam recognises that I own it. :(

The patch will break saves.

Only if you try to play it on the new patch. I was able to successfully load saves from patches 1.111 and 2.0.4 without any problem using the betas available on Steam.

Can you explain that? I have a late stage game that I am considering exporting into EU IV and it would be nice to know if and how that's possible.

Just select the one you want and close the window and Steam will automatically download the correct patch.

Was looking forward to some awesome India times but ever since the patch I'm getting horrible amounts of Runtime Errors...

Damn it, my son came back from his stint with the Verangians as a zealous orthodox Christian. Now I want him to become norse again before I die and he takes over, but I can't until I reform the norse religion. That's not happening any time soon.... I put him in a county and then but my religious advisor to convert people in that county (he's got Learning 20). Converted a few people, but not my son. Is it possible to convert a zealous person like this?

I may have to kill him to preserve the faith....

probably can't convert a zealot. particularly as an unreformed pagan.

Currently playing as the Rashtrakuta. I am enjoying the experience of the new DLC so far. :)

Spoiler both current ruler and the line with my first char :

I started getting problems with A Game of Thromes mod yesterday evening.

Who of the karling kingdoms at 867 has the best start/oppurtunities to inherit from his family members? I figure i might try a catholic ruler once more before i buy the expansion.

Still need to make the kingdom of jeruzalem as well, which 1066 start is best for that?

I don't think you're supposed to invade people if you're Jain. Also, the crap are those red skulls and the traits between Grey Eminence and Kind?

The trait is the caste of the character. Indians have a caste trait that affects prestige when marrying and other things too, I'm sure.

Don't know about the red skull.

Prior to Rajas, the only Jewish characters you could start as were the Khazar, just north of the Caspian.

W/ Rajas, there is now also an Ethiopian Jew option. I assume that would be integrated as a patch into a game w/o Rajas.

Recreated Israel w/ either is really, really hard, but it is probably easier w/ the Khazar b/c they will have easier naval access via the Black Sea. One way you could do it was by forging a claim in the Holy Land and then transporting troops by sea. Once you cement that claim, you can use Holy War to get the rest of the Holy Land. That's probably easier than going down via land the way I did. But be careful of the Mongols.

Edit: I am assuming you mean recreating the Kingdom of Israel. Anyone can create the Kingdom of Jerusalem via normal kingdom mechanics.

I believe the red skull means that they were murdered and that the identity of the murderer is known. If you click on it it should take you right to the murderer's character profile.
