Crusader Kings 2

That looks very impressive. :D

Looks good, I tried to add my own character and dynasty to the game but I must have done something as it only let me play 2 days before crashing.

Very good game. I'm taking a break from it until the new patch comes. The changes sound like they'll make for improved independencing and crusades. Less blobby kingdoms will be a welcome change.

I just won a Crusade for Beirut in about three or four months of fighting by using my Medieval Blitzkrieg shock-and-awe tactics (Sea Transport => Doom-Stack => Assault => Repeat).

The Crusade was perfectly timed, from my point of view. My King is in his mid-fifties and probably won't last much longer, two of his sons were old enough to take on Crusade with him along with most of my important vassals; so when my heir inherits the kingdom, he will get the +30 "fellow Crusader" bonus with most of the powerful vassals in my realm. That should make for a fairly smooth transfer of power.

I didn't take advantage of the Crusader relations bonus in my test run, and in my Scotland game I only went once then cowered in the Isles out of fear of the Muslim doomstacks. That was a huge mistake--my Sicilian crusades have been more successful than I could have hoped, and I have few revolts despite having scattered territory in Africa, Egypt, Italy, the HRE, and Spain.

The nice thing about Crusading is getting the 1000+ piety; now you can assassin crazy!

Yeah, when you can set it up right, assassinations can easily net you extra kingdoms and duchies. And there's just something delightfully evil about cleaning out a few royal houses over the course of a month or two.

Playing a good game as Sicily right now. Started as Duchy of Apulia, formed Kingdom of Sicily (although it's funny that I don't own even a barony on Sicily) but now I've just been invaded by Croatia. The King of Croatia's nephew has a claim on two of my duchies... it's going to be tough fending them off. I really don't want to have to give up some of my best land. I think mercenaries will be of utmost importance.

I like your choice of kingdoms. :)

I've managed to maintain the duchies of Sicily, Calabria, and Salerno as my personal demesne. It's a solid base of operations. I'm also set to re-inherit Apulia from my imbecile brother.

Started a Habsburg game; in 1109, I am Duke of Ancona, which includes said de jure duchy plus Nuchatel, Geneva, Aarborg? (the starting Habsburg county), Piedmont, and Mont-something (east of Piedmont). I'm set to inherit the Duchy of Brabant.

Started as the Duke of Anjou.
I am now the Duke of Berry, Anjou, Orleans, Toulouse, Acquitaine, Navarra, Gascogne, Burgundy and a few I forgot. My wife is the Duchess of Bourbon and maybe one more.

However my current character is an Imbecile and I haven't got a son yet... So I'm expecting a few revolts in the near future.

Here's Sicily:

I have just conquered Croatia when this screenshot was taken. My grandfather was king of Croatia, and my half brother was sat upon the throne, so using that claim I decided to relieve him of his duties.

My kings have a bit of a problem though. For three generations they haven't survived past 30, and now I am stuck with a queen. To add insult to injury, my previous king's wife was pregnant when he died and gave birth to a son after the daughter ascended to the throne! The small war you see on the island of Sicily is the duke of Sicily thinking he can take my throne. Not on my watch.

Edit: is giving the Kingdom of Croatia to my brother a sensible move? It's difficult looking after two kingdoms, especially when they have different laws and vassals within them. I'm thinking of putting my brother in charge but will this effect the game in anyway, or my final score? Since the game is about building a dynasty, I'll have two kingdoms under my dynasty so this should give me more points?

My Habsburg game. It's in Direct Vassals map mode, and I am the Duke of Ancona and Savoy. All of the counties that are contiguous in the center of the screen are in my demesne, and Urbino and Ancona have vassal lord mayors. The Emperor keeps giving me free titles, which helps on the expansion side of things. I'm set to inherit the Duchy of Brabant as well.

Outside of this, Rus surprisingly formed ~1090. England's post-1066 civil war was far worse than normal, and it wasn't until ~1115 that England was able to mop up everything. I also just noticed that the French royal court is in Algeria.

This wins the title of worst Holy Roman Emperor I have ever seen. Imbecile, kinslayer, slothful, and as a result a big fat zero in three traits, a crappy 4 in the fourth, and an only slightly-above average 13 in the fifth, it's little wonder there have been about 30 vassals try to gain independence, including one time where there was 11 or 12 trying at once.

Also, even though I am a duke, I am not an elector of the HRE. Does anyone know why that could be?
