however, a friend of mine has it, and we've wanted to play multiplayer, but can never figure out how to do so. Some of the "multiplayer options", like metaserver, I have no idea what is, and when we type in the host's ip, it doesn't work. And unlike with civ 5, we can't seem to be able to connect via Steam.
I am pretty bad in this game

Help?
You had me fooled, I thought this was part of the master plan.Get into one of the empires, then fabricate a claim or start a plot, and get the other imperial princelings to place you on the throne.
Side question to those who have looked at the game mechanics: what is required for a Pope to call a Crusade? I've only had one in my game so far, starting from the 9th century start and currently we are in the late 12th.
About the only difference from the base game is that I regularly edit the Pope's ages to be in their 40s-60s and console-kill them on occasion to try and mimic a more realistic papacy. However, if there is some minimum requirement of prestige or piety that is required to call a crusade, I might be messing up this other key mechanic.
In order to call a Crusade, first off the game year must be late enough. The religion must have sufficient Moral Authority . And the Pope must not have called another crusade within recent memory. My memory is a little more fuzzy on the specifics, but I believe it's past-1090 AD, more than 10 MA, and at least 30 years since the last one.
Okay, so if I want to invite someone to my court and give them land so I can press one of their claims, they always wind up with super low opinion of me once they get landed, even if their initial opinion was decent. Is there any way to determine ahead of time how they'll feel about me so I can know if they're worth fighting for?
Lunatic is awesome. Possessed can also be really fun.
You know you get +100 relations with them if you press their claims right? Sure it only lasts for 10 years but that's a lot of bonuses for long reign.
Good to know! Now my problem is that I accidentally picked a guy with a weak claim, so I need to see this count dead and fast. Just how poorly is save-scumming looked upon in this community?
Homosexuality in CK2 is so poorly represented that it might as well not be in there.
I get the feeling that it's represented as the medieval world saw it; that is to say, they didn't. CK2 seems to represent a fair number of things this way.
