CTR1 -- Jump Without Looking (the Deity Virgin Sacrifice)

And the rest of us aren't laughing (mmmpphff) ... really we aren't (snort).

But seriously - it can happen, especially considering how long this game has been running. I had a look around- it seems the next longest SG has 570 posts or so, and we are into 700 !!!

Looking forward to seeing what the situation will be.

Actually, consider it this way ...

All those numbers (3 spaceship parts, all those mech infs) are from mad-bax's turn. Which means they may be higher on your turn. I think instead of laughing, we should all be

Very true - I think we'll find Persia has finished some space parts, and that England will have 60 or so Mech Inf.

You realize that if Persia are too far along, we are going to have to try the impossible, and go after persia, with england helping, rather than the current plans ?

I see some people estimating/guessing we can take England in 10 turns ? That seems really optimistic to me ... I would have said 20 +.

Since AGAIN it looks like I am going to be warring (I think that make it was in my last 3 or 4 turns !!), I would like us to consider Size and construction of our SOD's, and their relevant starting point, and predicted path's. Much like Mad did way back when we considered the England war before. We want to break the oil connection, so I assume some kind of transport and tanks outside that city as well.

We must step very lightly now ...

@Wanderer,

The AI is sometimes stupid when pursuing a Space Race Victory (researching Techs that aren't needed, etc.), so we may have to hope for the best...

EDIT: In addition, when they go to war against England with us, hopefully their government will collapse

Add another thing about war.

If you get an AI into a war they are LESS likely to start more space parts.

Where is the materials for the space parts coming from? If you can cut that supply, then you can delay the race awhile.

@LK: We can't see Aluminum yet, so I don't think we're going to be able to find the supply. That being said ...

@Space: If you're able to successfully steal into the Modern Age, we try to steal/trade for the Aluminum tech (forget off the top of my head which one it is) so that we can see it

Rocketry is the tech for Alu. We need to be successful in three attempts and we're not that rich, so chances are slim, but I'll try anyway. :)

I thought we needed only Radio to move to the Modern Age...what else do we need?

Guys, the &*($$&$(#%*$#%^# game crashed on me again after a long warturn, I'm calling it quits for tonight. I've played 3 turns, of which I'll have to repeat the last.

edit: Just so you know the gist of what happened, a little teaser:

Interesting .. the Destroyer bombarded our continent, and Persia declared War... EXCELLENT

I also see we're researching Rocketry. I take it the Steal of Radio succeeded...

EDIT: ACK! We've taken the British city on our continent? Don't destroy the British, leave a city. We don't want to lose this via culture.

EDIT: EDIT: It looks like the British have a cute little island of their own. We should probably leave it to them (of course, their navy is superior to ours, so we may not be able to take it anyhow)

...

This is why I did that. We could try to retain a city on the soutern continent for that. Well away from the Persian one.

I know that's why you did that, I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page on not wiping out the British.

EDIT: We're mobilized?

Oh sh1 ...t.

MPP, ergo, we are at war with Persia.

Ummm - and all our troops are ... down south.

And we are ... heading south, unless something remarkable occurs.

Hmmm ... I see I am on deck. Suddenly, I thinking I might not be available to play ....< just joshin'>

duh ... well, did I get that wrong!

phew...

I declared them (England, not Perisa  ), this is what they did first. Unfortunately Persia had their turn already. Remember the Persians are already building their SSS, so these are the turns that are our last chance at winning this game. I'm trying to be as effective as possible and not lose to many of our troops. England has a lot of Mech Infs, but not so much attacking power (yet..).

edit: @Wanderer: just to be clear we are not at war with Persia, in fact they are Polite (as long as we're winning).

@ChrTh: we are. We'll have to fight until we make peace with England, our MPP with Persia ends next turn. I don't know if they'll want to renew it. But I guess we've effectively ruled out a Persian diplomatic win. :)

Nice going Space. The Persians will renew the MPP because the war is only a couple of turns old.

We would need Rocketry, Ecology and Synth Fibres for MA.
It doesn't matter what you research though as that ain't gonna happen.

Are you having a drawbuffer problem?

Yeah, seems so. It really ticks me off. Any idea what could cause it? I always have notepad and paint running in the background while I play an SG game, could paint cause it?
I didn't have problems before. I ran some anti-spyware stuff lately, maybe it's a combination of things.
