Cursive or Print?

I use print. Cursive was something they taught us in 3rd grade and made us use it until 5th grade. They told us propaganda like how we have to use cursive in higher grades and out in the workforce. Thus far I've managed to go without using it (with the exception of my scribbled signature) for 10 years now.

Does everyone have neat signatures then? Mine's a completely scribbled mess that I made up when I was about 9 or 10. It's not even legible.

I think it's mandatory for signatures to be illegible and mine is no exception. It starts off clean but ends in oblivion.

Cursive usually for notes and stuff, cuz its faster.

When I got to junior high and started having to take notes in history class, I found my cursive illegible: I couldn't read my own notes! So I switched to print. I soon developed a style that is quick and neat, and use it to this day. I also studied drafting back when it was still done by hand, so I learned proper printing as well.

100% cursive since 3rd grade. They made us write in cursive, and when I moved to a different state/school that hadn't even taught cursive yet I continued the habit. My cursive is pretty bad (although I think people say its worse than it actually is), and I hate my print (it looks like a first grader who just began to write). I also think that cursive shows true intelectual prowess ;).

What's cursive and print? I write in Times New Roman or Helvetica, occasionally Courier.

Seriously, cursive if in a hurry and I'm the only one who will read it. Print otherwise, and that's not very legible either.

My daughter is in 1st grade and the print system they're using is called [wiki]D'Nealian[/wiki]. It's a form of printing which is supposed to be "cursive ready".

I write in perfect Verdana. :smug:

Seriously, I usually use print; occasionally I use cursive. When writing very quickly, I write the first three letters in cursive then just kinda trail off the rest of the word...

Yes, just like every other genius ever.
Seconded. :)

Mostly print hybrid. I never use straight cursive, even though I was told that everyone would want me to. I'd say for the most part my letter are separated, except that any e is automatically incorporated into the falling stroke of the previous letter. And occasionally my b's look like s's.

This is the computer age. I can hardly write by hand. The only thing I write in hand are small notes and such.

It depends on the purpose! Usually print, but if I'm writing a nice letter I'll use nice letters.

Also, thanks for reminding me. :)
